this cop also did this to another protestor:
i remember when Instagram mostly banned me from my account for an entire year after posting about police brutality and its' links to white supremacy and institutionalized violence -it was during the height of the BLM movement after George Floyd was murdered. i remember calling out ex-co-workers at the time and people on social media i was mutuals with at the time for saying 'but it's not all cops, some are good,' and my response to that, and will always be: policing systems do MORE harm than good in communities. cops get little to zero training and are allowed to bear arms and have a licences to maim, injure, and kill people (most of whom, are NOT threats). and it's beyond unacceptable. the amount of funding these fucking systems get too when it can be allocated to programs that ACTUALLY do good.
defund the police.
end the occupation and free palestine!
*also, a few people have noted this, but yes, I believe it appears that the cop spat on the memorial candles too. and the fact he will never be fired and told to give up his badge for doing such a heinous thing is just despicable* -and yes all cops are bad.

*lebanese journalist | could not find date of martyrdom
spent the whole day confirming all of these names and looking through multiple resources. the ones with dates are journalists who’s date of martyrdom and/or exact cause of death is stated by sources besides the government media office official list.
Last night, protesters arrived at St. Patrick's Cathedral to remind the city's wealthiest and most powerful that Israel canceled Christmas in Bethlehem. Eric Adams and Rudy Giuliani were both in attendance, cheering on the genocide of Palestinians in the same city where Jesus was born.
To this day people will cry over the knowledge and works destroyed when the library of Alexandria was burned down.
And yet no tears are shed as Palestinian archives and libraries are bombed.
Saint Porphyrius Church, built in 1150 and the 3rd oldest church in the world has been bombed.
It's not an accident.
Israel aren't simply killing Palestinians, they are trying to erase that there ever were Palestinians in the first place.
Destroying their livelihoods, trying to to destroy their culture and history and pretend this land was never there's.
It's easy to deny someone's existence when there's no record of them.
Which is why it's so important to look at the atrocities and bear witness to what's happening.
But to also recognise that Palestine is more than it's suffering.
There is a living breathing culture, of art, history, literacy which all come from the Palestinians.
Traditions they've carried for centuries.
So while we mourn the dead, we shall fight for the living. Fight for the preservation of their crafts, amplify their voices as they speak on their culture.
Palestinian history and culture is alive. And no matter how much the world wants to erase that, they cannot and will not.
Happening now: American Jews are shutting down 8 bridges in 8 cities across the country for the 8th night of Hanukkah with one clear unified message: permanent ceasefire now [ @/ sumayaawad on X. 12/14/23.] ❤️🇵🇸
Knowing that it’s canon that general grievous fucks gotta be some of the craziest lore yet. No I will not be providing sources just trust me .
“Her name is Lulu…she is scared of the loud bombing just like us.”
The beautiful children of Gaza who risked their lives to save their cat from Israeli bombing
