Is it just me or are the new tumblr users convinced there's a penalty of some kind for using this site like it's meant to be used?
We are on strike. I wish it wasn't happening, wish that the producers would negotiate in good faith, and support the strike 100%.

Yeah, thereâs a reason for that.
Itâs called: antisemitic caricature.
It is so wild to me that the Trigun manga was just on the fringe of the fandom before Tristamp, with â98 being the main focus.
I can see how it happenedâwhen the anime was airing, anime was way more niche than it is now, and not everyone would have had easy access to buying it. And if you wanted to read it online⊠good luck, as someone who was in those forum/Livejournal/Yahoo Groups trenches. Someone on translating your favorite manga was so much work, and it was incredibly uncommon for people to scan officially released manga back then. And from what I hear, the first scanlation was awful, willfully mistranslating things and painting the story and characters in a terrible light. By the time the full manga was released, many of the original fans probably moved on. Itâs very different from the first anime, and for the younger audience that likely saw it, maybe a bit too much!
But now that Tristamp has thrust us all into Trimax hell, I deeply understand why Trimax Vash is one of the most common Vashes I see popping up in fanart and such. I love and am feral for â98 and Tristamp, youâll find no slander for those here, but the manga stripped me down on an molecular level and rewired my entire brain and all my emotions. That story and those characters haunt me. Sometimes Iâll see a panel from the manga, not even one of the most impactful ones, and I need to take a moment to recover. I think about it daily. Though I just think about Trigun all day at this point who am I kidding. Itâs so good. Itâs too good. WHO GAVE IT THE RIGHT TO BE THIS GOOD.
Anyway, if you havenât read the Trigun manga yet, go check out @trigun-manga-overhaulâ because youâre missing out on one of the best stories ever written.
Happy Neil banging out the tunes day
ok so apparently TERFs believe that when we say something along the lines of "reblog this post to turn everybody trans by 2050" that we're actually serious.

Hello my beautiful and handsome followers,

Thank you.
since I already reblogged about it here's a less informal, more concise way of putting it:
right now itâs almost halfway through 2023, and 2024 is an election year in the US. I have started to see a growing proliferation of posts suggesting that there is no difference between the republican and democratic partiesâthe exact same kind of posts I saw an awful lot of before the last major election here. I am unfollowing folks who post or reblog these sort of posts, as I consider these posts to be fascist propaganda framed as leftist discourse, designed to suppress anti-fascist votes and voters.Â
twitter changing their logo to doge really solidified how much of a garbage fire of a website it has become.
So Arizona launched an âeducation hotlineâ that allows âconcerned parentsâ to report âââcritical race theoryâââ and other things like ~gender identity~ being taught in the classroom
It would be a shame if the number and email were spread to bad actors looking to prank call the AZ Department of Education

Yes Iâm a gay man. Yes I have no interior design sense. Yes we exist.
Quick PSA, if you get one of those "Work scanned, AI use detected" comments on AO3, just mark them as spam.
Some moron apparently built a bot to annoy or prank hundreds of authors.
There is no scanning process, your work doesn't actually resemble AI writing, it's all bullshit. Mark the comment as spam (on AO3, not the email notification you got about the comment!) and don't let it get to you.
Here's an article going into more about what's at stake:
https://apnews.com/article/wisconsin-supreme-court-abortion-redistricting-trump-df0a7e5cfec1cd3bf08f14270a1c9615
After Roe v. Wade fell last year, a trigger law from the year 1849 - over a decade before the start of the American Civil War that ended Chattel Slavery - banned abortion in the state. Despite a Democratic Governor ready to sign a repeal, the Republican controlled state legislature has opposed it, and a 4-3 conservative State Supreme Court slow walked the legal challenge.Â
However, one of the 4 conservative justices, Patience D. Roggensack, is term limited, and the state elects SCOTUS judges by a vote so the race tomorrow will effectively determine control of the now deadlocked 3-3 court. A win for Judge Janet will give liberals a majority for the first time in 15 years, ensuring a liberal majority court will now have the final say on the legal challenge to the 1849 abortion ban, and in almost 100% likelihood, throw it in the trash.
AND THAT'S NOT ALLÂ
Wisconsin is victim to the worst Republican gerrymander in the country, where the maps are so rigged that Republicans only need 40% of the vote to control a majority of the state legislature, while Democrats need a 60% supermajority! Watchdogs have called it one of the most dangerous affronts to democracy in the Developed World. The conservative State Supreme Court has done nothing to address this, but a new liberal court majority is very likely to lead to a legal challenge against the maps. If overturned, Democrats would go to having a fair chance of winning a majority in the state legislature and turning the state fully blue like Michigan and Minnesota recently did. It would ensure that not only the monstrous 1849 abortion ban would be overturned, but Republicans would struggle to get back the legislature to ban it all over again. Right now all they need is the Governor's Mansion.Â
Janet's opponent, Dan Kelly, is a hardline conservative backed by the three biggest anti-abortion groups in the state. He was part of a scheme to throw out Joe Biden's victory in Wisconsin in 2020 by sending an alternative slate of electors to vote for Donald Trump instead. He is a mad man, and is very likely to uphold the 1849 ban as well as the maps.
Ladies, however you can, GET OUT AND VOTE FOR JANET!!!
And with your help we can make it 100%.
As a fellow lover of libraries (and as a librarian) feel I must share the heart breaking story of the loss of my rural university's library system.
I live in Vermont, a beautiful state full of many wonderful libraries (Story walks were actually invented in our state capital, at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library in Montepelier!)
Unfortunately, Our State University system (VSU) wants to permanently close down our University Libraries state-wide. There will be no more physical libraries for students to utilize, no librarians to help us or to connect with. Students and members of our communities will be losing a precious resource and public space. Our library system will be digitalized, online only. This will have devastating effects not only for the students and our campuses but our rural communities too.
If you'd like to learn more, here's an informative post from a fellow student!

I don't know if there's much we can do at this point, but if you can, please help us raise awareness. We love our libraries and don't want to lose them. Thank you, Neil Gaiman.
That's sad, and wrong. Happy to help publicise it.

i hope everyone understand that thereâs a connection between the rising antisemitism and rising anti-queer sentiment and all the other forms of bigotry that are bubbling up right now. itâs all about fear. fear of a world in which white cishet xtians do not control wealth, property, and people. the idea that laws will not cater to them, that theyâll receive no special treatment, that everyone will be entitled to the same respect, its terrifying to them. i guess iâd be scared too if i was a coward fighting selfishly for a cruel and foolish cause.
Myth: Trans rights are not human rights
isn't it insane though how schizophrenic people are viewed as violent and dangerous by the majority of society when in reality schizophrenic people are nearly 14 times more likely to be on the receiving end of violence than to be the perpetrators...
