The scene is from Chapter 26 "Abstractions of the heart and concretions on the ice". Yuuri returns from the press conference and is met by Viktor's apparent indifference to his speech. Meanwhile, Viktor has absolutely no idea why Yuuri is acting exceptionally weird and starts a research, which ends up in the two trying out an ice dance routine that does more than help Yuuri express Eros even better...

Gracefully, Viktor raised his arm and rotated his wrist, the rink speaker’s remote held between his fingers. The music started, and they both set off with a short step sequence. As with the actual paso doble, they danced in a sensual whirlwind of flirtatious lure, tentative testing of waters, brief passionate encounters that sent shocks of fire through Yuuri, and violent rejection to spur desire and prepare for another, more passionate encounter—reaction and counter-action coming alive with a whole different bouquet of emotions than Yuuri had poured onto the ice that morning. And he realised that this was because skating together with Viktor conjured feelings he could never express alone. Although still far from perfect, their interactions were vibrant with a familiarity Yuuri had no words for. Their hands, their legs—it all fused together. Maybe that was how it felt when the want of one’s soul aligned with the want of another soul. Too soon, the song approached its ending. One last time, Viktor made an advance. Yuuri grabbed him, miscalculating speed and distance, and thrust him down. Either it was the momentum or Viktor was heavier than Yuuri had assumed from his build, because when he tried to pull Viktor up, Yuuri lost his balance and they both crashed onto the ice. Pain shot through Yuuri’s bruised shoulder for the third time that day. Moaning, he rolled onto his back. “Wow, Yuuri,” Viktor said, panting. “You really know how to sweep me off my feet.” “Sorry,” Yuuri breathed. The pain in his shoulder became irrelevant in the face of the feeling of Viktor’s hands still imprinted on his skin. When I skate Eros the next time, I will remember this. “Maybe,” Viktor said, “we should practice this off-ice a few times before we try again. The ice adds more complications than I thought.” “Please,” Yuuri said. The cold seeping through his clothes brought him back to his senses. “I would really like to repeat this.” “Me too.” “You were right. It did help.” “Did it?” Viktor asked softly. Suddenly devoid of words, Yuuri nodded. “Yuuri.” He turned his head and stilled as he met Viktor’s gaze. A strange sense of closeness crept into him. It’s as if he’s truly seeing me for the first time. Does it feel the same to him? Viktor reached out and touched Yuuri’s cheek. He said nothing, but his eyes were vibrant with a turmoil too vast for words. And that was when Yuuri knew that Viktor knew.
