When the game is named after you and you finally get to be the protagonist
Making Din and Luke fall in love is the best plotline The Mandalorian can take.
I can imagine it so vividly it's like I've already seen it the show. Din being able to confide in the person who shares so much of his struggles, who's seen him at his most vulnerable, who possesses wisdom beyond his years. Luke finding solace in the person who doesn't know about his exploits, who doesn't care once he learns, who is similarly burdened with the task of reviving his culture.
Luke is tempted to rewrite the Jedi code, to make it less strict, to be a Jedi like his father before him. Luke falls in love and feels pulled between duty and selfish desire; he understands once more how his father fell. He falls in love and realizes with horror just how far he is willing to go for Din. It gives him insight on why the strict no marriage rule was written in the first place.
Although his father could have revoked his oath, Luke tells Din, he, the last Jedi, does not get that choice.
Din is tempted to escape his duty as the king, and at times, he does — takes his starfighter to Yavin IV and stops answering the comm. Although Din has advisors, like Bo-Katan and the Armorer, only Luke's advice is truly helpful. They spar and meditate, which takes the mind off kingly duties. They also kiss. They also take care of each other. It doesn't last long, but Din walks away having learned the Jedi wisdom on how to let go.
Luke makes Din a better person, just like Grogu did. He also makes him a better king.
Dinluke could be the new Obitine, except we get to see it this time.
Thinking about aus now, and imagining Sith Luke on his Imperial throne with Din Djarin at his side all dressed in red, not a Mandalorian, not even a warrior, just a handsome villager Luke plucked from Aq Vetina after Din had refused to back down when Luke attacked his village. Maybe his fighting spirit and dauntless refusal to stay down even in the face of certain death had caught Luke’s eye, and his pretty face just sealed the deal, and Luke had to have him. I imagine in this au that Din’s pretty chill with being Luke’s boytoy, figuring at least it affords him steady entertainment and relative safety in the tumultuous political landscape, not to mention Luke is handsome and Din could do worse than be a plaything for the beautiful Imperial prince.
Naturally he has no idea that Luke is actually head-over-heels crazy about him in a deeply possessive and slightly obsessive way and wants to spoil his villager rotten with gifts and affection in his own twisted Sith manner, that Luke would slaughter an entire planet if their leader so much as looked at Din wrong, that Luke has plans to marry Din the very second he’s able to.
The next generation of Star Wars and it's all depressed people
