Dear friends,
I write to you today with a heavy heart, as life in Gaza becomes more difficult with each passing day. The ongoing war has shattered our lives, and every day presents new struggles that feel almost impossible to overcome.
One of the greatest challenges we face is the constant lack of electricity. It's something we’ve come to live with, and it leaves us in darkness for most of the day. The simplest tasks, like charging our phones or filling up water, have become increasingly difficult.
Water, a basic necessity, is only available to us for a few hours once a week. We spend long hours each week trying to fill as many containers as possible to last through the days. The challenge of living without reliable access to water is hard to describe, but it’s a reality we are facing every single day.
In addition to this, the cost of everything has skyrocketed. Basic food, medicine, and necessities are now out of reach for many families. Prices have become unaffordable, and it is getting harder to make ends meet.
In the face of these challenges, we’ve come to realize that we need a source of sustainable energy to get through the darkness and manage our daily needs. We’re raising funds to purchase solar panels that will cost around $3,500 USD. These panels will allow us to charge our phones, provide light during the endless hours of darkness, and most importantly, help us manage our water supply more effectively.
The solar panels will make a huge difference in our daily lives. They will allow us to survive with more dignity, giving us the ability to stay connected, fill our water containers, and provide some relief in this challenging situation.
If you are able to help in any way—whether through a financial contribution or by sharing this post with others—it would mean the world to us. Your support will make a real and lasting difference.
To those of you who have already stepped in to help, we want to express our deepest gratitude. Your kindness, generosity, and commitment are something we will never forget. You have been a light in our darkest times, and we are so grateful for your support.
Together, we can make it through. Thank you for standing with us.
With heartfelt thanks,

reminders for today:
if you or someone you know might need it in the next few years, purchase plan b. the shelf life of plan b is 4 years, and we might not be able to access it as easily as we can now in the days ahead.
if you are larger/plus size: go online and purchase ella instead of plan b. plan b is less effective if you aren’t under 160 pounds.
if you can, purchase books that project 2025 is looking to ban.
mass deportations are starting. if you see ice vehicles or agents, yell ice raid and la migra as loud as you can.
if someone asks who you voted for, keep your mouth shut. they’re fishing for traitors.
if anyone, anyone at all asks about your neighbors or their legal status in the us, you know nothing. don’t be the reason that their family is separated.
if anyone asks about your religion or lack thereof, keep it vague. this administration will look for any excuse to persecute you.
your friends are trans or queer? for the next four years they’re not. don’t expose anyone’s status as a trans or queer person to anyone else, even if you think you can trust them.
did someone you know get an abortion? no, they didn’t. they were never pregnant.
in short, don’t be a snitch, and keep to yourself these next four years. we’ll make it through this even if it seems hopeless at times.
we can survive this. we’ve survived before, and we’ll survive again.
My dad and Mrs. Tracy apologized for how they treated me, like a legitimate apology..... and..... im finally moving out!
So in case anyone's worried, just know that:

I was contacted by Nader to draw pictures for and help spread his brother Abdulsalam Al-Anqar’s fundraiser to save their family. Nader is a 17 year old boy who lives in Gaza with his family: parents Ahmed (54) and mother Iman (49), brothers Abdulsalam (26), Mohammed (14), and Omar (21) and Abdulsalam’s wife and their one year old daughter Iman. Imagine it was your sibling, your friend, your son, who should be in school or with his friends, who instead has to hide from bombs and ask for help online to save his family. His family have suffered through one year of genocide. All of you are their hope to get to safety.
Abdulsalams daughter Iman is only one year old and has lived most her life in a war zone. She is suffering from malnutrition. It’s every fathers worst nightmare to see their child starve and not be able to feed her. Please help him feed his daughter and get her to safety. No child should grow up hearing the sound of bombs. Every child has the right to food and safety. You can help give Iman the childhood she should have, where she can sleep in a safe bed at night with a full stomach.
Their father Ahmed has cancer and needs surgery and medication. It is not possible to get the treatment he needs in Gaza. every day his illness is left untreated, the cancer will continue to spread through his body, so he very urgently needs money for treatment and travel. If you help them get to their goal, you are saving their fathers life. Don’t let this family who have already lost so much lose their father, husband, and grandfather
Nader has showed me pictures of this explosion close to them, thankfully they were able to get away. Every day they stay in Gaza their lives are at risk from israeli bombs. Every day and hour counts. I know there are compassionate and kind people who are willing to help. every euro helps, YOUR donation will bring them one moment closer to safety. With love and hope I’m asking you to give what you can, I believe in the kind people of the world and I beg you to not let them die. If you can’t donate, please share so it may reach people who can.

I need every single person to understand how horrible tumblr’s tagging system is
I go into the tag for epilepsy and its all flashing lights. We can’t use our own tag because people without epilepsy fill it up with improper warnings.
Use ‘flashing’ in place of ‘epilepsy’ in your tags. You aren’t warning people of epileptics, you’re warning us of flashing lights. Please please tag properly. Epileptics say this endlessly and constantly and it’s ignored. You are risking lives by doing this.
Here’s proof of what I mean:

ok last thing. but what people fundamentally need to get through their heads is the significance of gaza fundraisers not being the same as like mutual aid when you're helping someone get groceries, because it is a genocide. there is insane deliberate scarcity and prices are unmanageable, because there is nowhere nearly enough for everyone, so only people who can pay can eat. and what positioning individual fundraisers as the only course of action does is quite simply give a tiny percentage of random people whose fundraisers take off the ability to pay those prices while thousands of others can't. and every one of those thousands of people without a fundraiser is suffering through the same inconceivably horrific reality. it is giving a few completely desperate people out of hundreds of thousands a slightly more favorable position in a horrific war economy of imposed scarcity. and what grassroots community kitchens do is try to mitigate in some small way that inconceivable hierarchy of who can pay and who can't, by stretching ingredients as far as they can last to cook meals at large scale and give them out at no cost. and obviously people are still going to send money to their friends and families because this is hell what else are we supposed to do but please just think about that before promoting endless individual fundraisers as somehow the most ethical way to help
Turn off your brain and go one-by-one. It's so easy and much less scary than you think!
Go HERE and enter your zip code
Pick up your phone, and call anybody listed as a representative, not a senator
You'll be asked for some identifying information. that's normal! you need to be their constituent.
Say the following (leave out the LGBT part if your rep is republican): I want [REPRESENTATIVE] to vote No on KOSA, with the reasons being its massive privacy issues, its potential to harm LGBT communities, and infringe on our freedom of speech.
And you're done!
It's that easy, and the person you'll be talking to will just be a kindly older lady or a tired intern. And the best part? They have to listen to you if you call!
Do not assume others will do this for you.
Oddly accurate. Had to take a pause on Valentino and Alastor hate them both but ultimately Alastor is better 😔
you can make your top 10 here! have fun :) big thanks to biasorter for setting this up!
also look velvette is my favorite of the vees but i love vox's role so much so it's complicated
