Once again thanks to the wonderful @ketsie - I am able to introduce:
Ezmond Vann Trevelyan - ex-Templar, archer assassin, prankster, and nap enthusiast.
After reading the urgent message from the Nightingale, he skewered it with the arrow he had been fletching and inserted it into the fire.
“Is there anything else?” His voice was weary as he ran a hand through his hair, pushing the hood from his head in the process. The firelight accented the burnished bronze woven into his brunet locks.
“No, sir. Sorry to have kept you. Have a good night Inquisitor.”
He let out a chuckle, his dark verdant eyes crinkling around the corners. Harding stared at the man seated on a felled log. She’d never heard him laugh before and perhaps it small, barely a quirk of his lip, but his smile transformed him into an entirely different person.
“And what exactly are you keeping me from?” He vaguely gestured around the campsite where all was still and quiet. “Except a chance at getting to know you.”

Tuesday Tips - “Don’t just stand there!” A surprisingly simple yet challenging exercise. Try to draw as many standing poses of a simple character. Try not using props or things to lean on. It will make the exercise more fulfilling. Go through your first ideas quickly. Get those out so you can start thinking more specifically about how a character would behave or feel if he/she was cold, impatient, worried, late, hurt, angry, etc. We often forget that the whole body is engaged in expressing a feeling. Also, more technically, it forces you think of weight distribution (makes your poses more solid and believable). As always, stay loose and do it fast to surprise yourself with what you come up with. Please write stories that are problematic.
Stories need conflict.
Write them to show what’s healthy. Write them to show what’s unhealthy.
I see so many people telling writers to avoid anything that could be problematic, like writing about it is supporting it. They fail to see the importance of writing with depth and meaning.
Writing has always been about conveying thoughts and ideas without fear of censorship. Being able to present problematic situations in a healthy way is important.
Being a good person is a choice. Don’t let people fool you into believing that truly good people never have bad thoughts, are never tempted by the easier path, by the low road, never mess up or act out selfishly. Never believe a person can be good without making a conscious effort.
Every single time you do something good, you’ve made a decision to make the world a little brighter.
Goodness is not an inherent trait, it is a choice. Keep making it! I see you, I’m proud of you, and I’m rooting for you!
