King shit right here
(also hilarious that Tony Leung isn’t going to see this and likely won’t even get the reference lol)
sir I.. he really knows the fans
I totally missed the chin grab when I originally saw the clip.... must've been an inside joke with the zemo scene that went over my head at the time?? 😳
i want what they have
I adore him with all my heart
can you believe this is the same person.
I’m in a pissy mood so I’m just gonna rant.
I saw a number of people criticizing the scene where Bucky apologizes to Sam saying it wasn’t enough and that the show needed to show Bucky reflect on what he did wrong and come to the conclusion of needing to apologize.
Except I saw a bunch of y’all saying earlier, while Bucky was effing up with his obsession with the shield, that it was NO PoC’s (especially a Black person’s) responsibility to educate white people on their racism. Rightfully so. 100% agreed. And I was nervous the show would show that. But it didn’t.
So how did people really expect this to go cinematically? Bucky learning by Googling? Bucky watching the news? Bucky learning from Walker? lol
What if Bucky pursuing Zemo, NOT killing him and thus regaining his sense of agency and coming to his senses, and semi-reconciling with the Dora Milaje sparked a realization off screen? Especially given how he wanted to make it up to Sam and asked Ayo for a favor.
Sometimes people really need to temper their expectations based on what could work for a show pace-wise while still executing a crucial message.
Totally fell in love with this Aly & AJ song, “Slow Dancing”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poaP-o8klRM
It gives me hardcore Steve Rogers/Bucky Barnes/Sam Wilson/Frank Castle/literally any fictional veteran vibes
Especially with the lyrics
🎶 I've got my reasons to complain And they're tangled in red white and blue The battle outside is blazing And all I'm thinking about is you 🎶
As I've posted before, I'm honestly so torn because I'm seeing colleagues who are Jewish say any accusation of Israel being an oppressor or colonizer is antisemitic because the Jewish community are indigenous to the area and have a right to the land. And that they have a right to protect themselves and have a large military given how Jewish people had been historically targeted.
And yet the Israeli government and military's actions in East Jerusalem really scream "oppressor" to me that I can't shake off. I can't help but see all this violence as genocide, especially as of late. But I welcome more commentary because I've been having a hard time discussing it on other social media platforms.
can someone please share a resource w me about what’s happening in palestine that doesn’t promote antisemitism? I’m very confused about what’s happening but every resource I’ve read and shared has resulted in a message from one of my jewish friends saying it’s antisemitic and I feel bad ! I don’t want to promote that, I just don’t understand what’s happening. I thought the decolonize palestine website was a good resource but when I shared that, my friend messaged me and said it promotes the idea of settler colonialism which is antisemitic
This is really sweet to see from Kenny! But I s2g if this now results in people harassing Kenny for not being a "perfect" PoC+gay community member, I'm gonna throw hands.
Dare I check Twitter?
And another one. #onlylove
Everyone was like, “Oh the movie uses a wonderful, thoughtful amount of Mandarin” and I was like, “Okaay...What does that mean??”
IT REALLY DOES USE A THOUGHTFUL AMOUNT OF MANDARIN. It gave such an authentic feel to Chinese or American-Chinese families. I wouldn’t have understand the dialogue if it wasn’t for the subtitles but so proud of everyone working on this film who thought of that and executed it.
Was just thinking of the good ol’ days when JATP was relatively new and all the promos/appearances Charlie was doing back when he wasn’t criticized for every little thing. And how he said he was a fan of “country” Taylor Swift.
And just thinking how since JATP came out (Sept 2020), Taylor Swift has released TWO albums (Evermore and Fearless (Taylor’s Version))...before JATP has even been renewed.
Wild how long it’s all been
K, this one piece of dialogue is bugging me from TFATWS finale. Wouldn’t be surprised if I also come back with more questions.
But when Bucky is talking to Karli and mentions how he’s tried to fight for something bigger than himself and failed twice....does anyone know what he’s referring to?
I can imagine WWII is the first one.....is the 2nd one Hydra-related? How did he “fail”? By being brainwashed? By struggling to recover? Or is the 2nd one Avengers-related somehow?
Julie and the Phantoms fan. Long time/OG MCU stan. Spoiler blog galore. Let's try to keep fandoms unproblematic, k?
