However something that always gets me is the lack of dragon diversity, no, not the way their shaped(kinda). All the dragons in game of thrones have the same model!!!
In Fire & Blood by George R. R. Tolkien, the drawings that show the dragons all make them look different. You can see this by looking at the snout(nose thing), the spikes on their back and the horns.
Examples:
Page 90, the sky battle of Balerion the Black Dread and Quicksliver(the smaller one). It’s slightly hard to see but if you look closely the tail and spikes are different.
Page 140-141, another incestious wedding :/ , Vermithen’s horns are curved downwards while Silverwing’s horns are curved a bit up and outwards. On Vermithen you can see that he has spikes covering his underside whilst Silverwing lacks those spikes. Also on Vermithen’s face he has 4 smaller spikes in between his horns and the horn on the side of his face, Silverwing only has 2 spikes under their horn.
Page 43, King Aegon on top of Balerion the Black Dread. Unlike the other dragons it appears as though Balerion’s face is much smoother.
Page 187, Jaehaerys threatening Rogar. As seen in the picture above with Balerion, Vermithen’s face appears much more spiked than Balerion.
Page 36, the death of Rhaenys(not seen) and her dragon Meraxes. Unlike with some other dragons, Meraxes’ neck appears longer and lacks the spikes we see in other dragons.
Page 30, Visenya and her dragon Vhagar attacking Starfall(in Dorne). Unlike the picture above Vhagar’s neck appears much shorter and thicker and has much more spikes than Meraxes. Vhagar’s horns are also much longer than Meraxes as well.
Ok, enough examples. So all I’m saying is
