Days gone by! Drank a few sodas here back in the day.
No seed eating birds on my bird feeder today! This guy hunts my feeder I am guessing as I occasionally find feathers by the feeder. Love south Texas!
The rare and shy Angus-o-potamus! Dang hot in south Texas. Hope everyone around is getting rain.
Doc, I enjoy your blog!
Your blog is useless and lame, as are the ppl who follow you. Just delete it.
I might delete it one day. Today’s not the day.
Colocynth aka Vine of Sodom or colloquially known as 'Pie Melons'. Vines scrambled up a round bale and there you have it! The seed must have hitched a ride hundred and thirty years ago in someone's watermelon seed. (Kind of like Tumbleweed seed from the Russian Steppe hitched a ride in wheat grain) Originating in North Africa it tolerates great heat and drought, like our part of Texas, and was used as medicine by the ancient Egyptians.. too much will kill you but a little, supposedly, can relieve pain. Farmers hate them, cows don't eat them and pigs despise them.
Too true!
Cicada Hawk guarding an entombed cicada under the back porch steps. Anesthetized the cicada will be consumed From the Inside Out by the growing larvae of the Cicada Hawk. She swoops as we pass but never stings.
Been there done that..it will happen again!
The agave loved all the rain in April! Blooming beautifully all over the ranch! Not native to this part of south texas we transplanted. Researched aquamiel production and pulque making from agave. I now have a plan!
Love this!
Mostly photos of my life in South Texas. I share what I love. The Outdoors and Ranch Life.
