I remember you reblogging that post where studiomdhr thought of the cup bros as kidults but how do you feel about the actual writer claiming them to be adolescents? Like I'm not trying to start anything I'm just curious as to what you think. I always felt like there was something off about the studio's answer b/c they made seem like it was a question/joke or that they weren't sure themselves. At least the writer gave us an answer

okay I’m gonna be very real with this: i do feel that the studio wanted to leave the question unanswered bc they wanted us to come up with our own interpretation you know? Which is what I’m perfectly fine with. And if one of the writers say they are teenagers, by all means go ahead and see them as teenagers!

and here’s the thing that many people just don’t get: you don’t have to follow Canon material 100%. Plus there’s always AUs if it’s too hard for you to comprehend

But my point on the whole issue is that you can hc the cuphead Bros as either adults or children. It’s all up to you. But if you harass other people for seeing them as adults/child and different from your hc (which is what I’ve been seeing a ton), then you’re the asshole.

the only thing I can’t stand is that I see actual innocent artists getting attacked left and right just bc they hc the bros as adults, and the label ‘pedophile’ being thrown around at the wrong people. And now I feel that people are mostly just scrambling to get any leverage over their own hc from any of the staff on cuphead - and to use it to justify themselves in harassing other people.

but for real tho, I just don’t see the point in asking the studio? So what if they seem like they’re unsure? All you need to do is to interpretate what you want, and leave other people alone. It’s not that hard to be nice y’know?

Oh, and one more thing @ the adult side: I’ve seen a few comments from that post such as ‘haha they’re adults now we can draw porn of them :))))’ and that’s just… nasty. Like, nothing wrong with you seeing them as adults (which I do as well) nor drawing porn, BUT why you gotta act as if you’ve been eying them and ready to pounce on any chance to sexualize them. ok i've generally stayed away from this topic because it's quite uncomfortable, but i've seen some people on here say or imply that written CP is acceptable in comparison to image or video CP because 'technically no real child was involved', and it makes me realize people wrongly think the only function of CP is sexual arousal for pedophiles. it's not. CP is also used as part of the child grooming process. the material is exposed to a child in an attempt to normalize and gradually introduce them to the abuse they will experience. you can literally look this up if you don't believe me, not that anyone defending CP of any medium has done research in the first place. you do not understand the extent of abuse, and you don't care to because it inconveniences you.
