It Really Is Crazy How Women Abusing Men Is Still Regularly (if "jokingly") Viewed As A Positive Thing.

it really is crazy how women abusing men is still regularly (if "jokingly") viewed as a positive thing. like literally today i was talking to someone about having watched both misery & sunset boulevard in a film class & both of those being about men being abused by women & the person's response was smth like. haha yeah that's so empowering. like obviously these are fictional characters but y'all realize that treating individual human men like poppets to punish Mankind for it's Sins is fucked up and evil yeah. also this directly translates into how trans men are treated as free punching bags for people to take out their anger at more powerful cis men. idk call me crazy but i feel like if you can't hear about men being abused by women without making a "joke" about it maybe you just have a deep problem you need to work on

Not a rant, just me rambling about 'The Boy' again. *Spoilers*

I can't help but notice how many people like to say that Brahms is rich. People will be like: 'Greta made a mistake in choosing Malcolm when she had a perfectly good rich guy right there.' and stuff, right?

But, I'm over here like: "...N-no? He really isn't? lol."

I know most of these people are meaning it as a joke, but this has been in my head for days and it won't leave me alone, so I have to make a post about it or I'll never know peace, lmao.

Now, I can see why they'd make this connection, right? He lives in a mansion, his parents are rich, and his parents are dead. Problem is, as far as everyone else is concerned, so is he.

The way this kind of thing works(take what I say with a grain of salt, I'm not good with legal stuff.), is that when someone dies, they can leave their possessions to people in their will, right? Well, you can't leave money or possessions to people who are already dead.

Brahms was given a headstone, everyone in the nearby towns believes that he's dead, and the Heelshires likely had a funeral, so as far as everyone else is concerned, Brahms isn't alive. Thus, it's very likely that the government is under that same assumption, meaning that Brahms wouldn't be in the Heelshire's will by default. (Now this would be different if he was thought to have died recently, or if Brahms had kids of his own, but since he was thought to have died when he was eight and is twenty-eight in the movie, both of those things are impossible.)

If anything, I feel like the Heelshires may have left their money to Greta, since they assumed she'd be taking care of him from then on?

If we're going with that, that leaves Greta with an unknown amount of money (Though likely a lot), a manor, one less crazy ex-boyfriend to worry about, and Malcolm by the end of the movie.

Brahms isn't rich. Hell, Brahms is pretty much two steps away from homeless, really. After all, the manor is either in Greta's name now, or its just sitting there, so it could be repossessed and resold at any time.

Honestly, that just makes the entire situation for him worse. One moment, you're banished to the walls of your house for years on end after being accused of killing your one friend, the next, your stabbed, abandoned, and left to fend for yourself without any resources while being legally dead.

It's kind of tragic. Especially if you read his backstory as sympathetic like I did. Damn.

it’s weird to think how many mental disorders are diagnosed less by what the person actually does and more by how others respond to that person. like how in hysterionic personality disorder (off to a great start) a literal diagnostic criteria is the person’s emotions don’t seem convincing, which is obviously going to depend hugely upon a doctor’s personal bias. and in bpd, though it isn’t a criteria, you hear about clinicians diagnosing people based on the “meat grinder sensation” (feeling like their own insides are being ground up while talking to their patient), and with autism based on the “wall of glass phenomenon” (feeling like there is a barrier in reaching the person). they’re such weird ways to talk about people especially when the clinician’s own biases are rarely taken into account.

Person: Hey, don't call that MLP character 'Derpy Hooves', that's insulting and ableist! Me: Oh, okay, what should I call her, then? Person: Call her 'Ditzy Doo'. :) Me: ...How is 'Ditzy Doo' less insulting than Derpy Hooves? Person: Well, 'Derpy' is ableist towards people with mental disabilities. Me: And 'Ditzy' is a misogynistic insult towards a woman perceived as stupid, especially if they're a blonde (Which Ditzy happens to also be). ...And you think naming a FEMALE CHARACTER 'Ditzy' is fine?

Can someone explain why people say this? How is 'Ditzy' less bad than 'Derpy'? /gen

I’m gonna be honest: I feel like superhero movies and TV shows should be animated.

There’s just something about live action that makes them, ironically enough, less ‘alive’ feeling. Movement usually feels somewhat stilted in live action to me, even in the better action sequences. Not to mention that you can just do more with animation than you ever could with live action.

(Not mentioning as well that if an actor stops working for a project, it’s far easier to get a replacement voice actor than it is to get a normal actor to replace a live action role.)

No thoughts, just marvel crossover AUs

Okay, I cannot stop thinking about a ‘How to train your dragon’ AU for Marvel.    Would Thor have a Thunderdrum or would he have a Skrill?    Loki with a Changewing perhaps? (Or maybe throw a Nightfury at him for the ‘misunderstood’ points?)    Hela might have a Wooly howl to replace Fenrir? or maybe a red death for the boss battle points?    I’m also fixated on the idea that Tony has a Sword-Stealer.

That and a Pokemon AU:    My immediate thought for that being Loki having a Suicune, Thor having a Raikou, and Hela having an Entei. On top of that, they each also have a legendary bird? Loki has Articuno, Thor has Zapdos, and Hela has Moltres?

I just come up with the weirdest and most out-of-nowhere ideas sometimes.

Like, I’m just sitting here, minding my own business, then all of the sudden my brain goes: ‘Do you think [Insert batman character here] would like Beastars?’ And now I can’t stop thinking about how Mr Freeze made a mlp reference in Injustice 2-

Weirdly enough, I feel like Killer Croc might like it. And not just because he’s basically a giant crocodile-

I mean like, the murder solution arc I feel would probably pique his interest, especially the cold open to the series. The whole ‘Carnivore prejudice/The urge to eat your neighbors’ thing especially might be something he can relate to in the series.

Idk, I just have these weird thoughts sometimes so I thought I’d put it out there since I wanted to post something today but didn’t have anything in mind.

Okay, but notice that when Viren turns into a statue, he has a tear rolling down from his eye, similar to The Dragon King (Not even going to try to spell out his name.)

That + The ‘She is not an asset, she is my daughter’ line from the previous season makes me think that there might be some delicious dramatic irony centering around Viren’s killing of The Dragon King. (Perhaps with Aaravos taking up Claudia as his assistant in Viren’s place? Who knows?)

That’s just me reading a little deep into a random line and the imagery in this teaser being so similar to The Dragon Kings, so I could be way wrong though, lol.

Either way, I’m big hyped for this, holy shit-

Impossible is just another kind of possible.

If I made a Batman movie, I'd cast Robert Carlyle as Scarecrow/Jonathan Crane.

Look at the roles he's played and tell me that man wouldn't do a fantastic job. Whether you want him more serious, or more 'hroo hraa'-esq, he'd play the part well.

I feel it in my bones. He's the ultimate choice.
