The Kids from Yesterday music video was inspired/based on this fan-made video by Emily Rose Eisemann!

When deciding what kind of video would work the best with the song we immediately thought of a “video collage”. [...] We began collecting footage and literally stumbled upon an incredible video done by a talented young lady named Emily Eisemann. She had made a fan video, put it up on YouTube and it summed up what we had been trying so very hard to make, perfectly. So we gave her a call, put our videos together, and the rest, as they say, is history.

I think that MCR is so uniquely cathartic because they have hit an essential truth that so many artists get fundamentally wrong and that essential truth is that for optimism or hope to mean anything at all there has to FIRST be acknowledgement of suffering. Full acknowledgment. Acknowledgement of the complexity of that suffering, the shame of that suffering, the reality and the depth of that suffering. Acknowledgement of the very, very ugliest parts of that suffering. It has to be spoken. It has to be acknowledged. It has to be purged. Without that acknowledgement, the sentiment of “it will get better” is hollow and meaningless.

my chemical romance is a deeply intentional artistic project that has never ever done anything just for the hell of it and gerard way has never done anything artistic without putting a great deal of thought into it and my chemical romance would literally not tour just for money. like i dont care if i sound delusional or whatever i genuinely do not believe that they would do that.
