a collage I made a while back when I had a thing for lichens and Hildegard of Bingen and decided to blend the two in an art piece because frankly, why not??
Hello - this is Lulit, a protagonist in my current story project.
She is 13yo, she lives on a planet blighted by a deadly rainborne disease, and her birth was the result of a highly unethical scientific experiment. But she doesn't know that last part quite yet.
There's loads more I should have done to this portrait but I get bored after a while.
Bonus pic is Lulit's name written in her world's bridge language.
After years of observing these caddisfly larvae, French naturalist and artist, Hubert Duprat, wondered if the caddis flies would use any materials to build their cocoon. He introduced flakes of gold, pearls and opals to the caddis flies and they did in fact use them for their cocoons. They use their own silk as the glue to hold their pupal constructions together.
An involutionary history.
I made this a while ago, but thought I'd post it anyway.
