zoro conveniently wearing an all black iteration of his traditional outfit for the battle luffy would later activate gear 5, an all white iteration of his traditional outfit. zoro conveniently activating “king of hell” with the backdrop of the moon during the same battle luffy activated “sun god: nika.”

i really believe these were intentional decisions to make zoro and luffy, captain and first mate, inseparable. all these parallels were done with the foresight and purpose to make zoro and luffy two halves of a whole. light and dark, sun and moon, life and death, angel and demon, liberation and punishment, beginning and end, heaven and hell. intertwined on such a fundamental level that they complete each other, they can’t exist without one another, and wherever one is, the other will follow as if it’s as vital as ground beneath their feet or air in their lungs.

The only times Zoro flex about his body is when Luffy cuddles with him to get warm, he looks at anyone around to see them with a smug smirk. (People are tired of his ass, no one cares)

Luffy climbs his loved ones. Trying something out with colors

so zoro calling luffy ‘king of the pirates’ after his defeat to mihawk is not only the first time someone canonically reaffirmed luffy’s dream in one piece, indirectly saying he will achieve it, but also the first person to ever call him pirate king.

zoro being the first crew mate and the first person to call luffy by king of the pirates… these intrinsically intertwined pirates, i swear. they instantly believed in each other, trusted each other wholeheartedly. unlike to others where luffy is the future king of the pirates, that never mattered to zoro because luffy already *is* to him.

it doesn’t matter how long, where the road takes them. luffy is the king of the pirates to zoro, he was addressing the king of the pirates, and he was talking to luffy.

Luffy: I see no difference they’re literally the same

Zoro's gonna be grumpy because someone interrupted his Luffy time (Luffy completely forgot what he was doing before the cool bug appeared and never went back to continue)
