canonically jealous tummy ache zoro is soooooo embarrassing for him and he knows it! bro knows the entire world sees him as luffy’s second hand man & first mate, that he’s been with luffy since day one, that he IS strong and loyal and fierce and these are all qualities that luffy values, that he understands luffy on a nearly telepathically linked level and their bond transcends definition……and yet the second luffy compliments how strong or cool another man is he cannot bite his tongue fast enough to stop himself from being a little bitch about it

It's still surprising to me how underrated this ship is. These two share so many moments together where they clearly rely on and care for each other, that they can understand what the other means wordlessly. Their relationship dynamic is simple and yet there is so much depth. Especially, I was rewatching the battle of Zoro & Luffy vs Kaido, in which Zoro once again claims that if Luffy dies, he's going with him. BASICALLY, he's saying that he has no reason to live if there is no Luffy, and RIGHT AFTER Luffy CONFIRMS that?

Just in general Oda has developed their relationship; you can actually see the difference in how their trust level is building from the beginning, and how Zoro changes because of Luffy. I cannot wait to see Luffy learn how many sacrifices his swordsman has done for him.

Yet it's weird that it's not a popular ship? Every time I bring it up, I get various responses like "oh I'd have never thought to ship them" or "why would you??". WHY WOULD YOU NOT? Just look at them!? They are clearly beyond normal friendship.

If the birth parents are alive and they actually did abandon a little baby on a random island, Luffy and Zoro (probably the whole crew too) will kill them. The whole straw hat crew probably has some sort of abandonment childhood trauma of some kind.

i'm loving the little garden arc rn bc I think zoro's behavior is a peak example of how luffy changes him as a person. when he and the others were getting turned into statues he was completely serious and was about to cut off his own legs so he could try to go out fighting. dire situation that he was treating with a dramatic sense of urgency. and then he sees luffy for 0.2 seconds and immediately starts doing bits. he's bleeding out and turning to wax and he's ribbing nami about striking a cool pose. the instant luffy is within shouting distance zoro reverts to a silly little guy. which is really just what luffy brings out in him all the time. zoro is fundamentally a goofball but he only drops his serious façade when he knows luffy has his back
