delighted by the discovery of the concept of "doomed by the narrative but your friends are punching the narrative in the face and you're fine now"
And with your help we can make it 100%.

In-lore, how do you account for the creators' other series, such as Hermitcraft and 100 Hours? Do those happen in between death games, and at any point they could be ripped out of their normal lives and forced to murder their friends for eldritch beings' entertainment? Are they plain not canon to the eyesandears lore?
I saw a clip of Scar freaking out about a skulk sensor and reminding himself this is Hermitcraft, everyone here's nice, it's not gonna blow up and couldn't stop wondering.
If memory serves correctly, we decided on the Last Life post season stream that other SMPs are dreams the players are having between seasons of the death games
It's not a detail we've totally locked in yet, so it's still a bit loosey goosey until we decide some hard cannon
Currently I like to think of it as dream states between the games. Yes, some of the players share the same dream space like Empires / Hermitcraft but that's just an allowance made by the Watchers through their soul linking powers.
There's literal soul linking demonstrated in Double Life with the health system but their power is vast and comes with variations. I wouldn't say it's any kind of 'plane walking' ability (which I've seen a lot of people theorizing on based on Gem's lore and how she might've entered the Life series), currently I feel like it's more mental manipulation / alteration as opposed to travelling.
So for now it's a little vague until we decide something concrete or the narrative would benefit from a clearer definition being made. But I always like to be honest about these details so people know not everything is committed to ink just yet

Bill, an athletic Black man, has his arms crossed across his chest and is asking Sam, who is off screen “ Who suffered Sam?”. Maria, a short, fat Latina woman stands behind him holding a prescription pill bottle in her hands with a look of concern.
