Working on a save file for Willow Creek for the Ultimate Decades Challenge (1300s edition) by MorbidGamer!!
Serfs: serf was a peasant who was bound to a lord's land and was required to perform labor for the lord. Serfs were at the bottom of the social order and were treated similarly to slaves, but they could not be bought or sold. Serfs were given land for their family's needs, but they also worked on the lord's land, especially during busy times like harvest.
Fief: A fief was a piece of land granted to a lord's vassal in exchange for their service to the lord. The vassal would promise to fight for the lord and the lord would promise to protect the vassal. The vassal would oversee the serfs who worked the land.
I will update as I go along since I will be building everything myself for this challenge (i hate myself and am taking the hard route) and making original townies to give the full immersion of the challenge!
The willow creek map replacement shown in the screenshot is by MissChipsa and is completely free!!
(i gave up on finishing it for my udc playthrough, but im slowly working on it still since im probably gonna run the challenge again (i already love it im a history nerd in this sense))
Updates for this will probably be even slower compared to UDC updates considering how differently I am going to be updating! This is more story telling updates, hence the new formatting!
Meet the cast !!

Huge ass post to make up for not playing in a while and my last two updates being so short lmao.
Poor Eino ended up dying of a mysterious illness (llazyneiph drama roll) and I forgot to take a picture of him as a toddler before he passed. The quadruplets have been dropped to two left, this is stressful guys.
Surprised I didn't even think of doing this earlier, but we got a photo of all the kiddos together! We are ignoring the smell glitch and the hat glitch; I fixed those after way too long of it happening lmao. Plus, a photo of just the girls together!
Both Philip and Ben are really bad at aiming the snowballs... but at least they had fun. I feel like the winter is never going to end, if I have one more blizzard, I am going to LOSE IT. Anyways.
The Frost family reached Christmas and had a lovely turkey meal. (I have nothing to make any other large meal for these holidays, ignore they had turkey for the last big holiday as well.)
The cold leaves little for the family to do work wise, so it is mostly just them trying to get through it and keep the kids entertained enough to prevent grumpy people in the house. They do seem to be faring well in that department at least. Except the fact Ben keeps making jokes about poor Erilyn.
We have new sleeping arrangements given the kids are getting older and starting to need bigger beds! Not sure how I'm going to place the fifth bed not under a top bunk when the two are no longer toddlers because it is already pushed as close as it can to the front door... but we'll deal with that when we get there, yeah?
Philip is thirteen! He is getting super close to the eligible marriage age (15) for the 1300s, that is crazy. I made him shorter for my own sake, but he will slowly be aging up even while a "teen" in sims.
New spousal portrait for the Frost family because I kept forgetting to make it, what's new. They've been spending a lot of time together through winter without actually having much to do and have come to the conclusion that they don't actually have a lot in common (game please) so uhhhh. we love arranged marriages, I guess?
Lowri has become a very sociable girl and even made friends with the daughter of the Orellano's who lives down the street. Their cow, Belle, has been warming up to her as she started to come out and talk to her every morning while her mother would milk Belle.
We have a new family portrait with the kids now that they are older, and honestly, should've waited till now to make it instead smh, but here we are! From left to right: Erilyn (4), Philip (13), Eyra (4), Lowri (7), and Ben (9). Next year is going to be the first crisis to impact my game and I'm so nervous, no food sources for three years,,, yikes.

me when i keep forgetting to post to tumblr side after posting on blue bird app… im sorry tumblr followers
but the steorra’s are now officially married!! they had a beautiful yellow theme in the gardens of mt komerobi <3
tbh haven't been motivated to play sims or to post lol posts are hard :/ but we got another year done finally!! hopefully i get back into the groove at some point but just know i do not plan to drop the challenge or stop the posts :)
The quads (yes, one of them is dead, they are still quadruplets smh) are quite literal demons. Love them. But they are demons. Poor Ulla gets no sleep (her bar is constantly yellow or red) and most of time, Ruben is too busy with the farm work to help out. It's hectic guys.
They hug a lot if you can't tell, I think Ben and Lowri hug at least five times a day, I'll just see it out of the corner of my eye. We are going to ignore that Ben is crying in the background of the first photo, Lowri broke the dollhouse again.
Speaking of Lowri breaking the dollhouse, she breaks it like once every day and then cries about it right after... ANYWAYS their winter outfits are so adorable, I love it. Counter note. Playing in winter is hell, they're always on the verge of freezing to death, I swear.
Definitely two different feelings about their first blizzard... Ruben was absolutely not having it, but Philip was loving every second of it. Probably has to do with the fact Ruben actually had to take care of the chickens, cows, and bees, and then also take extra time with the garden and Philip was simply out there to play... Yeah..

Minna had twin baby girls. Luckily, the birth went by with little error and both are alive. We've got little Selma and Zelda Wendlen in the family. There is worry with Selma though because of the fact her head is scarily small compared to her body.
Despite just birthing twins, Minna has found time to herself to return back to the easel in the barns and started painting after long months of not being able to. This piece is still undone, but the more she does, it is beginning to look like she is making a self-portrait. (Which I thought was so cute when I saw the hair color)
Rolf hasn't gotten the bathroom when its free, so he took it upon himself to just shower out in the rain and the pond. Just be glad he went into the more secluded part of their lot to do so, but he's definitely clean for once!
Sadly, baby Selma did not make it. Her head was too small and over the night, Minna found her un-waking. She looked just like her mother, and I think that scared Rolf off because he has been avoiding the house a bit now. Luckily, Zelda is still healthy, she is too little to understand where her sister is, but she definitely knows that she isn't around.
On a foraging expedition, Rolf came across a little foal. He doesn't know why the little horse followed him home, they seem to both have a mutual hatred towards each other. (Seriously, why does every animal hate poor Rolf) Rolf was going to send the girl away and force her back to the wild, but then Minna had seen her, and Minna was not going to let Rolf do that.
Minna was able to convince Rolf to house the foal until she could fully live by herself given the poor foal seems to have an injured back leg. Minna made Rolf promise, and Rolf has a problem of not being able to say no to his wife. While he attempts to work on the foal's leg, the girl kicks him away every time, so it is a bit of a task.
At least the girl seems to like Adelbert, Rolf would have said "absolutely not" if the horse even looked like she might kick at his child. The foal seems to understand enough that Adelbert is three years old only and keeps her distance unless he approaches her.
As stated in last post, I played with the Royals except for the last day of 1308, so this is a pretty short update for the Frost Family.
Ruben finally got his kids and brought them all to Saint Grace Church for Lilith's burial. A nun had come over and blessed her grave before they left, ensuring Ruben that she would be in heaven. (lol as an atheist, that is so funny and weird for playing a family that are heavily religious but we rolling along.)
Honestly, the kiddos have been getting along nicely. Lowri has become quite a troublemaker, loving to take things apart and leaving them in a destructed state. And surprise surprise, Ben is loving the action and chaos that it brings. Poor Philip is usually the one who is told to clean it up.
Ruben is slowly coming to terms with the fact he will need to rewed, slowly being okay with it too. (When his new wife has children, does it make his first wife's children no longer allowed to inherit the farm?) The only problem? Actually finding a new wife.
