even if the ending isn’t an alternate universe it still feels dystopian in a way that i feel like wont last. like i feel like it’s def part of gabriel’s wish or something? brainwash everyone into being slap happy and remember him as a hero while he gets to go be with emilie again? because also.. why do they need that many heroes?? what do they think they are fighting atp? monarch is gone and all they need to do is find his miraculous , and only maribug knows the truth so? i feel like maybe 5 max would suffice?? i have an unsettling feeling the cheerfulness shown from the hero team and the pool party is irrational and false and idk what to make of it really but it just all seems v fake like a perfect vision of the world that can only stand to crumble. and i think part of this happiness probably comes from the fact they have altered memories after the wish.. like what does adrien mean ladybug told him how his father helped her finish the fight .. i don’t think ladybug would say smth like that in her right mind because it’s clear she hated that mf … IDK!!!!!!!
I think MLB has a really good opportunity here to reinforce the importance of the Ladybug-Chat Noir partnership—really, a lot of the groundwork for it has been laid out already. Because much to mine and many fans’ disappointment, Adrien did almost nothing in this episode. He wasn’t able to contribute at all to the final confrontation, Ladybug did not have him by her side—and she lost! She was, in fact, not able to do it without her partner, just like she always says! She didn’t have Chat there to back her up in the fight, or balance out her habit of wanting to see the best in people and offering second chances, which allowed Gabriel to win.
That theme of imbalance is reflected in Gabriel’s choice to shirk Ladybug’s offer to find a solution at the human level and instead continue to pursue his wish for a world that’s perfect (for nobody but himself). I really don’t think this “perfect” world will last, I think LB and Chat’s relationship will be tested one ultimate final time through the reveal of what Ladybug’s been hiding from Adrien and Chat, but once they’re on more equal footing again vis a vis: information, they’ll come out on the other side stronger for it
Wait a minute what if Marinette doesn’t remember either and just subliminally is following Gabriel’s last request of her to not let Adrien hate him and they all slowly start figuring it out…..
Like Marinette doing the dishes one day and just announces
“Wait a minute… that bitch was evil!”
Meanwhile Adrien gets locked in a white tiled bathroom and starts thinking it feels familiar — or plays foosball with Nino and just kinda freezes.
“Its like I’ve played this a million times — and I hate it.”
Why pool party though? Quite an interesting choice of setting, isn't it? And the way the sun shines and everyhing is light and bubbly and... quite ironically perfect. Even though Ladybug had just told Gabriel that there won't be a perfect solution...
Contrast with all the other times it was sunny, like, I don't knoooow, Jubilation, or Oblivio...
Meanwhile, some of the most real moments we got between the love square blorbos were during night and/or when raining.
I get a feeling that that ending wasn't supposed to be settling. If anything, it was unsettling. But idk maybe it is just me.
the s5 finale had a lot going on and i definitely think there’s a lot of interesting storylines that could spark for future seasons But at my core i am a simpleton who just wants to see bug bug and meow meow flirt on the battlefield…. my idea of plot is when ladynoir have to kiss each other to save the day and im right for that!!!!!!

i canr even look on the bright side abour the finales conclusion i’m sorry. there’s so many plot holes and things left unclarified and the way that they changed things just. it feels yuck. and it’s SOOO not fair to everyone and adrien especially!
