Brown Bear

I designed this big boy as part of the big Animal Paradise show which is currently touring China with Brick Live. He stands two meters tall and has the first sculpted base I’ve ever made. The first layer has the design of the water and shadow of the fish and is covered in a layer of blue trans. The entire body is made with 1x and 2x bricks and the face is made with plate. I’m really happy with this model and impressed that I managed to get that sticky-outy lip that bears have. :)

I’m 78% sure this is how the S9 trailer went.

Connor: “Hank how could you.”

Hank: “You were fine with watching Terminator last week, I didn’t think this would bother you…”

Connor: “This is different, this movie made so many ignorant assumptions, and was so insulting…

Hank: “I said I was sorry!”

Connor: “Really Hank? Cujo? In front of Sumo?”

I finally finished this big piece! Hard and painstaking work was done, yay. Haha, you have probably heard this question a million times before, but is there a team that builds the statues or is it a robot? All I can think of is just a really big group of people sitting on the floor with a bigass blueprint pinned to a corkboard and everyone just kinda sitting and building onto the statue, and a seperate group of people sifting and sorting the pieces into specific groups.

Congratulations, your imagination is 100% correct! We have a team of thirty builders who do exactly that. The only difference is they use a laptop screen that shows the blueprint rather than pinned to a corkboard.

I like to think of it as 3D printing but without the actual printer. :)
