201->204 pipeline is legitimately crazy to me because buck is just having a nice normal day and talking about sexy firefighter calendars or whatever and then he turns around and his life changes because he sees eddie for the first time and his brain does legitimately just leak out of his ears because lmao?? look at this guy. What. WHAT. like honestly get real. who does this guy even think he is walking around and looking like that and existing or whatever. ugh. UGH. buck hates him he hates him he haaaaaates him so much because honestly how dare THIS guy, whoever he is, come in here looking like THAT. and buck is furious and angry and storming around and posturing in the gym and Eddie is just calmly and steadily watching this happen and he's standing back and observing until he figures out what this weird guy's insane deal is and then it clicks and he's like oh :) okay. and somehow (within like 48 hours of knowing him) he unlocks the buck buckley user manual in a way literally no one ever has before or since and he says the exact right thing to get buck to go directly from 😡 to 🥰 and then within like a week or two buck has appointed himself stepfather to eddie's child

like, the reason they’re canonically more likely to have adhd is bc their brains are hardwired for survival or whatever right, and they’re more likely to be dyslexic bc their brains are hardwired for ancient greek, and anyways that logic is kinda silly but i love it bc rick did it bc of his son’s adhd and dyslexia right. representation

anyways i think it would make sense for them to be more likely to be autistic, too

like, they tend to be more sensitive to their surroundings and pick up on things others don’t, allowing them to see through the mist. it would make sense for their brains to be really hardwired to pick up patterns and maintain strict routines ie training, etc + repetitive movements could help them out on the battlefield in the same way adhd does.

a lot of them have sort of obsessive special interests in things related to their godly parents, like nico w death, annabeth w architecture, percy w the sea, etc. plus, they tend to not feel like they “fit in” or “belong” in the real world, and before they find out abt being a demigod a lot of them think there’s something wrong w them. it’s only once they meet other ppl like them that they realize they aren’t alone

obviously a lot of this is also associated w adhd, but w rick’s logic i think this is fun to think of and makes a lot of sense! plus ✨ comorbidity ✨ exists and ppl w one disorder or condition often have others as well. adhd and autism often go hand in hand!
