You gotta know that there'll always be some fuck up men when you're just a nobody band.

Nobody band held a live in a nobody California livehouse, which suits perfectly. The light was dim, the crowd was lack of interest someway, everything was just not in the Mr.Right style. (what? not that Mr.Right, don't think too much.)

My band was kinda used to this situation, if I had to tell the truth, we played our splendid music and the livehouse paid us, that can be a deal, contract even. However, that day was maybe meant to be different. Then I noticed a guy weaved his way across the crowd, nein, nothing 'bout that people would even care to stand and listen to our music intoxicatedly, it was just something mattered to his style - that style truly is my family through my career, that not-going-to-change style, criminal, drugster style.

Call it a D.A. instinct, for then I witnessed him pulling a bottle of pills out and talking to the girl next to him, they were nearly only an inch below my stage, even less.

For some kinda morality or I simply did not wanna my band's live trans into a drug party, but whatever.

"No drugs here." I grabbed the mic, nevertheless he won't listen to me. Of course! Why would he?

"DO. NOT." I said again. And he showed his middle finger like a fuck-u posture and I saw that youngling was about to take that pill.

Just a single second later I got rid of my guitar and left it roughly on the stage. Somewhat I was glad I didn't choose to bring my fave one today, 'cause that I'm certainly going to regret after all this. But right now, I don't give a shit.

I jumped right to that guy, from the stage, just like diving. Might astonish my teammates? Egal was soll's, but I heard my drummer shout something like "KLAV!!" while Daryan solo for a few sentences, definitely. God his solo sucks.

And yep, I punched him straight on his face and I think I did break a few teeth of him because the bleed just leaked out of the corner of his mouth. And he punched me and I punched him, punches, punches, punches, balabala... Until the hooter rang through California's night. I gonna leave an "Opps." here, ja, I can be a boring guy sometimes.

Daryan didn't say a word while that goddamn police took me away. Fine, wonder what you guys can do without your first guitarist and perfect singer. Nein, I knew he's not going to leave and I won't lose my D.A. place and I'm NOT going to pay that fucking impolite dude damages.

So it even took him a while to get me out of this damn place. Whatever, I thought it might be better to hold our future lives in our popedom. At least in that way police won't be a trouble. Never.

"Screw u. " I said. Kicking a stone away， leaving that lockup behind.

Daryan didn't seem to be mad as usual. Shrugs. I guessed he wanna say something like ur welcome but he said,

"That was a freaking good sucker punch."

Klavier really should have expected something like this.

What was it that his family used to say about him? Something about having the best luck about the worst things, he thought, and wasn’t that delightfully prophetic of them. His first case was the resounding success that collapsed the courts into the dark age of the law, his band gave him all of the fame he could ask for with decreasing returns on creative satisfaction, and his best friend of several years ago was standing in front of him in the hall on his first day back as a prosecutor.

His best friend who he had not spoken to since he left, and who was staring at him like he was a stranger. Klavier Gavin’s luck struck again.

He didn’t know why he was surprised. Nearly seven years was plenty of time for a new degree and a new badge no matter how devastating the setback had been at the time, and it would have been ridiculous to expect Sebastian Debeste to be anywhere else after the work he put in. Klavier knew that time didn’t stop for other people, just because he’d been gone - but it was a different feeling, confronted with the evidence that he’d missed things. He’d missed seven years of things, and in that moment it felt like a wholly unnecessary move.
