Brudil is kneeling, picking her bucket back up. Brudil: I need a real helmet… "WHIMPER" SFX comes from her left. Brudil: Hello? Is someone there? Pleht gasps (with "GASP!" SFX) and slaps a hand over his mouth. Brudil peeks around the door and sees him. Brudil: Hey, are you all right? Pleht: YEEP! Brudil: It's okay, I'm not gonna hurt you. In fact… Brudil grabs Pleht, striking a heroic pose and tearing up. Brudil: …I'll make sure you get out with me unscathed, new friend! Pleht: YACK! Pleht (thinking): THE MONSTER'S GOT ME I'M GOING TO DIE OH PAUBB SAVE ME I KNEW THIS WAS A BAD IDEA I HOPE AT LEAST I'M GOOD EATING BECAUSE I CAN'T GET OUT OF THIS DEATHGRIP I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT KIND OF SPELL COULD SET ME FREE I JUST… NEED… TO TRY… SOMETHING! Pleht reaches into his coat, rummaging for anything to aid him.
And here’s a timelapse of my earliest version of my current process! Again, potential flashing lights warning.
Currently, lit’s a little different, but the outline goes like this:
1. Make rough.
2. Solidify panel layout.
3. Solidify dialogue.
3. Make rough sketches.
4. Make speech bubbles.
5. Make lineart, with separate layer of the background lines covering the lines on the base.
6. Colors
7. Shading
8. Other effects.
Meet Brudil Brinn!
She/Her | 25 | Gnome
Brudil has lived in the bustling city of Everteeter for as long as she can remember, having been raised by her adoptive orc parents. Since she was a young girl, she was enthralled by stories of heroes and adventurers, both real and invented, and has wished to be a "gosh" herself. She carries her confidence everywhere she goes, from social situations to attempts to protect someone from monsters.
See her get into some good scraps at:
In this page, they start to get results.

Like the previous page, this page jumps between Pleht and Brudil's perspectives. Pleht: Right… L-let's try that again… He tucks the ladle into his sleeve. Brudil lifts the axe, pulling it out of her washboard (with "snap!" SFX). Brudil: I was just about to tell you… Pleht has an aura of magic, looking up at the ladybug. From the ladybug's perspective, it looks like the ladle has become a floating metal ball. Pleht: Ooooo… Look at the floating orb… Meanwhile, Brudil has swung the axe overhead, bashing the Bandaged Slugfolk's head with the flat end (with "WHAM!" SFX). Brudil: …TO KNOCK IT OFF! The ladybug happily stares at the floating orb, which the ladle truly has become, hovering between Pleht's fingers. Pleht (thinking): Okay, Pleht, it's working. Just gotta do this right… Ladybug: chlee! Meanwhile, the other Slugfolk is running for aid from the ones lying in wait. Brudil (thinking): Okay, Brudil, just like you practiced… Slugfolk: GUYS! GUYS?! Bandaged Slugfolk: Ugh…
Flashing Lights warning, but I figured I’d show a timelapse of how I first made pages, using my first page. With Procreate, though, you have to manage a sometimes strict layer limit, so I now have a more efficient process I’ll show in another post
In this page, tempers keep running.

The comic jumps between Pleht and Brudil's situations. Pleht and Slugfolk: O-oh, sorry… Pleht turned to see the ladybug, who shields its eyes from Pleht's magic flame. Ladybug: SKREE! Pleht: Didn't mean to blind you. Slugfolk (pointing at the Bandaged Slugfolk): It was his idea. Pleht reaches into his coat again, dropping his flint with the other hand and extinguishing the flame. Ladybug: mrrrgh… Pleht: Hey, c-calm down, boy… Brudil is understandably angry at the two Slufgolk. Bandage Slugfolk glares at the other. Brudil: Seriously, what's your problem? Bangaged Slugfolk: Really? Slugfolk: Heh, sorry. I panicked. Pleht pulls out a ladle, but it drops to the floor (with "CLANG!" SFX). Ladybug: chttr? Pleht: Here, look at this floating or- oops! Brudil gets tackled by Bandaged Slugfolk (with "BAM!" SFX), hard enough for her bucket helmet to go flying. Brudil: I mean, if you're gonna ambush me-- OOF! Pleht kneels down to pick the ladle up as the annoyed ladybug watches, while Brudil pushes against Bandaged Slugfolk, her hand reaching back for the axe. Pleht and Brudil both groan. Ladybug: hiss…

Pleht throws the metal ball into the foreground, the ladybug excitedly turning to chase it. Pleht: GO FETCH! Ladybug: skree! Brudil punts the Bandaged Slugfolk into the other Slugfolk (with "PUNT!" SFX), sending both through the open doorway. Brudil: GET OUTTA HERE! Pleht (wiping brow): Whew! Brudil (standing proudly): Well, that takes care of that! Pleht picks up the dropped flint, while Brudil picks her bucket helmet up. Pleht prepares to go through the dark doorway, trying to get his magic flame back up (with "flick" SFX) Brudil puts her helmet back on and turns her attention to the thorny plants once more. Loud banging can be heard from the other door she missed (with "RATTLE" and "BANG!" SFX) Pleht and Brudil: Alright, where was I…?
Who is/was Sardon the Beige?
Sardon the Beige is a human wizard who resides in the city of Everteeter. He may or may not appear in the future (faster on my site, wink wink, plug plug), but I will say this: he is considered a great hero (a “gosh”, as Brudil would say), but he is getting on in years and is often visibly tired. If one didn’t know about his mighty deeds, he’d likely be called “lazy” and “reclusive”.

Transcript below the cut:
Brudil falls down onto her stomach (with "WHAM!" SFX). Brudil: ACK! Pleht reels back, clutching his shirt. Pleht: What..? Who…? He spies the axe dropped by Brudil. His anxiety spikes as he imagines several monsters that Brudil could be: Mockman: Brudil's head and eyes roll back, and she leans enough for her belly to reveal a gaping maw. Puppet: A marionette Brudil stiffly raises her axe, looking with a lifeless expression. Undead: Brudil shows as a rotting zombie, grinning as she brandishes the axe. All these thoughts hang over Pleht as he sweats nervously.
