Maybe he tried to run away a lot and they drugged him to stop him and punish him. And so after he escaped he has a phobia of needles. Maybe max knows or not about the phobia but she doesn’t know he’s an experiment like El. And so when she stabs him with the needles, she did the dose for Will which wasn’t enough so hes conscious but he’s having a flashback or he’s just like freaking the fuck out. And so he’s like begging them to stop and saying that he won’t run away again and he’s sorry, and just please stop I don’t want any drugs. Stuff like that and everyone is like what the fuck is happening. And then like hes hyperventilating and crying so they’re trying to calm him down but they can’t and like maybe he calms himself down or he just passes out. Whichever one
