Doing some experimental drawing for my next visual novel project.
This blossoming tree has a spirit trapped inside. In this gentle fairytale you embark on a quest to release her.
I'm thinking the hand drawn style has a kind of story book charm which I like a lot. Especially as I'm hoping to submit this to the Once Upon a Time VN Jam.
What is the key to surviving the ever shifting edges of the Blade Room?
A hidden panel, a memory locked away or just dumb luck?
"Choose Your Fate" in Lydia's Labyrinth the game book - coming soon.
I'm currently rearranging the art from landscape graphics from the visual novel game to portrait book style. I'm also recolouring for print and ebook :D
The game experience will be similar to the "choose your own adventure" novels. The the writing is done and now, the writer and I are working on the formatting and editing. Things are moving forward fast and I'm really excited about it all. Just got to stay focused and get the work done!
Going deeper into the forest
Mr Fuffington is out in the wild! DragonQuills over on itch.io made a cozy, wonderful visual novel about finding a place to live for the winter.
I've played through the first story and the writing is delightful and has a great sense of humour. Also there's an adorable romance between the humans.
(Also the opening music is Pawtastic!)
Introducing Lydia...
We're getting ready for Spooktober season with our upcoming escape visual novel - Lydia's Labyrinth!
Can you escape from her evil clutches and solve the mystery of your shared past?
For the third year we're taking part in Spooktober visual novel jam. Can't wait to see what everyone creates!
There's only 16 hours left of the Spooktober Visual Novel Game Jam!
I want to say a big thank you to everyone involved in the game jam this year! The quality has been amazing! So many talented creators are involved this year. You are all magnificent... the developers, artists, music makers, voice actors, streamers, and the organisers!
Of course I want to also give a big shout out to the players. All of you lovely folks give so much to us by playing the games and the feedback helps us to make things better in future.
If you're wanting to get involved, don't worry... there's still time!
Over 270 Spooktober Visual novels await you! Check them out below...
Thanks for stopping by and stay safe my fiendish friends!
This was so much fun last year! I've already got some game ideas brewing!
Played a great visual novel demo today! Super writing and lore which I'm looking forward to seeing more of.
Also thanks for using Mr Fuffington as the cat!
And we got our game finished!
Hi and welcome everyone!
It's been a whirlwind this September but I'm delighted to annaounce that Travel Devil is live and a part of the jam!
It's a short VN about a botched demonic summoning turning into the adventure of a lifetime. Our host, Tornacense, finally escapes the administrative department of hell to pursue his dreams of becoming the hottest new content creator on Doomtube! But will all this exposure lead to unwanted attention from the upper echelons of demon society?
Travel Devil was made in collaboration with Robert from Valhallions. He was fantastic to collab with and got stuck in with all aspects of the game.
I worked on the coding, character design, image manipulation and GUI. I'm so glad we got it finished on time! It was a mad rush at the end and there were times we weren't sure we would make it. I'm still so tired but so happy!
Also, I can't wait to try the other entries in the jam. This is my favourite time of the year, it's going to be so much fun!
You can check all the games out here:
Thanks for stopping by!

Hello and welcome everyone!
Hope you’re all having a wonderful wintery time. This year, I’m a bit disappointed as I won’t have time to make a game for the annual Winter Visual Novel Jam but I’m still really excited to try out some of the wonderful offerings that other developers have made.
So without further ado...
Winter Cube Story by daddykidos
So first of all this game runs in browser. This was super handy for just jumping right in. The story lasts about 5 minutes and I had a nice, chilly time reading it. I’ll give a little insight into the story but I won’t give too much away.
We’re following the journey of Cuki, the Winter Cube. Cuki wants to see things that they’ve never seen before and explore. Hopefully a snowy day in the mountains can live up to their wanderlust.
The game was made using HTML and JS and runs perfectly. The art is charming and simple. If you like the sound of all this, I would recommend giving it a try.
I'm going to try and look at some more games in this jam over the Winter.
Be well my friends!
