Eddie: Buck and I got into a fight. He told me to take everything that belongs to me and get out.
Maddie: What’d you do?
Eddie: Threw him over one shoulder, Christopher over the other and walked out.
keeping it real....I care more about Sydney getting her own episode than sydcarmy at this point. Don't do my girl like this. If you aren't going to...at least get her laid...give her a fucking episode so we can get to know her better.
Truly funny that for so many people, The Murderbot Diaries has become their version of Sanctuary Moon… used in all the same ways too
A lot of stories about learning magic hide the cost of magic: they tell a story that you can have magic through your own individual efforts, i.e. that magic comes by studying hard, learning something, and you just have it! You get this magic, and it’s yours.
Our own society encourages us to pretend that magic is free in similar ways. “I worked hard, I got paid, and I bought this iPhone. It’s magic! And it’s mine!” But we know, we all know deep down, that much of the actual costs are being paid by other people somewhere else, or will be paid by you in the future and in your children’s future.
Magic isn’t free. Whenever there is real magic, someone pays for it. And trying to claw apart the story to get to that truth, to expose and show that truth on a visceral level, is part of what I’m trying to do.

I like to think that during Buck’s first year at the 118, he was enthusiastically taking any shift he could because he loves being a firefighter and his real life is lonely.
Then one day, he comes into work and Bobby is just like, come with me. They get in Bobby’s car and he drops Buck off at his house, “If you keep going like this, you’re going to burn out. Take the time.”
And then a few hours later, the 118 comes back from a call and Buck is in the loft. Making a grilled cheese.
Bobby gives him a look like, what the hell. Buck’s eyes go wide and he asks genuinely, “You meant all day?”

I fucking forgot that enslaved people are risking their lives fighting fires
I'm not saying it means anything, but I am saying that everyone I've spoken to that likes one of these things likes at least 1-2 of the others.
The other thing is if Eddie Diaz was anyone’s elder brother, they would call their best friend, therapist, spouse or older brother before going anywhere near that house.
A lot of us wanted to see Eddie’s sisters but honestly? It makes so much sense that we don’t see them. I mean, with parents like Helena and Ramon? I would never step a fucking foot in that home ever again.
