Stone being assigned to Robotnik because he is MEAN. He is NO-NONSENSE. He is RUTHLESS and UNCOMPROMISING. He is the agent they call when they have a stubborn problem that needs fixing by any means necessary and he never disappoints.

Stone? Not even his government name! It's a nickname he earned by being a STONE COLD BADASS.

The US government tasks him with reining in their little rogue scientist nightmare, knowing if anyone can get a handle on Robotnik, it's him. They watch and wait.

Imagine their surprise when after a few months, their toughest agent is preparing lattes and making puppy eyes at their least favorite employee. He's not filling out his insider reports on Robotnik's behavior. He's refusing to share intel. He's coldly saying that he reports to the Doctor now.

Everything has backfired. They've lost their best man and gained a potentially deadly enemy in the process. Their own secret weapon is turned against them. Stone is now Robotnik's grinning, snarling lapdog.

I want to write that transformation SO. EFFING. BAD.
