I have seen the webtoon and it is great! Shirt but great! I liked the mystery part to it. Also good luck with college if you're still in it! I started online school and it's super time consuming.
Sorry I haven’t been very active on this account, my life got super busy due to college stuff.
However, since you guys apparently like my story telling, I figured you would like this.
Recently, I found out about a contest on Webtoons, and I’ve decided to join it! I know it’s not my typical content, but if you guys have the time, I would really appreciate if you took the time to read my entry, and possibly share it with other people. If a lot of folks look at it, it’ll help my chances on having the story be one of the few winners! It will only take a few minutes of your time.
Fair warning: It’s very different from the content on this ask blog. I focused on making the story spooky rather than fluffy.
Here’s a link to my Webtoon.
Thank you in advance for reading it!
I'm making a oneshot on this now.
Cross: What the-!? Why is your back all scratched up?!

[Its more of a high school AU, though in this his dad didnt die and instead went to work at highschool. Also warning: Swearing and homophobia, abuse? Implied abuse?]
Jerome. One of the most hottest, coolest, and popular boy in school. His dad was the principal. He got away with everything. The minor bullying, the food fights, phones in class. Teachers turned a blind eye. But not just because Jerome was the principal's son.
No, Jerome was a straight 'a' student. He was even in the AP classes. He's a nerd, you say.
You're right. But people don't believe it. They think he got easy and good marks because he was the principal's son. But in reality, he was really just that smart.
His friends Cindy and Buggs usually didn't get in trouble. Mostly because Jerome was with them.
Some people envied Jerome. And by some I mean Felix Huxley. Not only was Jerome higher than him, Jerome and Felix had a rivalry. Mostly to see who was the best. But times were tough for the Huxleys. They were relying on friends like Carla and Monty for help with money. The Huxley twins' parents were going into dept.
"Can you believe him?" Felix said, glaring at Jerome and his friends. "He thinks that because he's tHe pRincIpaLs sOn that he can just PUSH ME around?! My parents could crush him if it wasn't for his dad! He'd be nothing without a father!" Felix said harshly. "Here we go again..." Carla said, sighing. She rested her head in her hands.
Monty stared down at his plate, ignoring Felix ranting. "I mean come on! He's not even that good looking!"
Monty looked up at Felix and laughed. "You aren't any better than him." Carla snickered. Felix gasped and looked at Monty, offended. Ted grinned. Felix glared at Monty. Monty smirked. "Not even Ted will back you up." Carla said.
Felix looked at his brother, who shrugged. Felix groaned. "I hate you all."
Across the cafiteria was Jerome and his friends. "You think I can hit Penny from all the way over here?" Buggs asked. Jerome laughed. "Go for it."
Cindy sighed and rolled her eyes. "Boys." She mumbled. Buggs grinned and turned around and grabbed the orange off of his tray. He lifted his hand in the air and threw the orange. It hit one of the other Jocks.
Chaos. Absolute chaos. It was a food fight.
Felix groaned and ducked under the table. "Fucking heathens!" He yelled. Monty sighed, he took his back back out and took out his umbrella. He can't get under a table. He's in a wheelchair after all. Why he had a umbrella on a sunny day was unimportant.
Jerome moved to the side of avoid getting hit. Cindy yelped in anger. She got behind Jerome, using him as a shield.
"Ugh! Buggs! I just had my nails done!" Cindy scolded. Buggs grinned backed back her and winked, then threw an open carton of milk. Jerome chuckled and moved away from Cindy. She yelled when she was it with an apple juice.
Jerome made his way to the other side of the cafeteria. "What the hell is Jerome doing?" Felix asked. Monty and his friends looked over at Jerome, who was heading to the fire alarm. He made eye contact with Monty and grinned, winking, then pulled the fire alarm.
The alarm blared out. "I'm gonna kill Jerome." Felix said.
_____
Students were outside the school. Carla was laughing her ass off. She was drenched in milk and pasta sauce. Ted was calmng his pissed off brother down.
Monty tried to process everything that happened in the small span of five minutes.
Buggs was looking at his scraped up elbow. Cindy was telling Jerome off about the whole fire alarm scene. Jerome rolled his eyes and brushed her off.
The Principal came outside, scanning the area. He made his way over to Jerome, grabbing Jerome by the arm roughly and dragged him inside. People whispered about what would happen.
Jerome remained calm when he was being dragged inside, but once he was inside and alone with his father, he trembled in fear.
"Finally, maybe he'll learn his lesson." Felix muttered to his friends. Monty shrugged. He was the only one of his friends who knew what Jerome's Dad was like. He did go to school when Jerome's Dad was Principal all those years ago. Everyone who was at the first Kindergarten knew what Jerome's Dad was like.
While Felix knew there were pills, he didn't know everything. Cindy gave Buggs a worried look. Cindy glanced around nervously. "I shouldn't have yelled at him." Cindy said regretfully. Buggs patted her on the shoulder.
_____
Monty was alone. He didnt have a partner for his project. Mostly because there was someone missing. That person was Jerome. Monty assumed he was in ISS, a.k.a in school suspension. But there was a knock at the door, and when it was opened, Jerome came in. But he was wearing different clothes.
The teacher talked to Jerome and his looked over at Monty, who pretended not to notice, and worked on the project. Jerome nodded and walked over to Monty. He sat across from Monty awkwardly. "It's been awhile." Jerome said, trying to break the silence. Monty nodded. Jerome looked away, then back at Monty. "So uh, we're project partners-"
"I assumed so. I can't walk, not hear." Monty said. Jerome got up and walked over to the other side of the table and sat next to Monty. "What are we... supposed to be doing?"
"Read a book and analyze the story, what it's about, the characters, how the change, etc etc. The book we were assigned is 'One of us is lying by Karen M. McManus.'"
Jerome nodded. "I've laid out how to go about it, so all we have to do is read it." Monty said. Jerome nodded. Jerome picked up the book and opened it up. Jerome came closer to Monty so he could read along. And he quietly read against Monty. They stopped every now again to write things done. The bell ran and class let out, along with school. Jerome wrote the page number down on a piece of paper.
Jerome left the room to head to his basketball practice. As Monty was leaving he noticed a note.
It was a phone number with the words,
'Call me' with a heart after. Monty sputtered. "What the hell?" He asked himself.
_____
Luckily for Jerome's dignity, Monty did end up calling him later in the day. Monty tried to make it about the project, but Jerome just rambled on about how 'Cindy and Buggs need to kiss already', and how 'Buggs has a crush on Cindy' and how he 'shouldnt be telling Motny this.'
Monty learned that Jerome liked to speak his mind. If he had something to say he would say it. Which explains why he won't stick to the project.
"So Cindy just freaking lost balance and knocked everyone but herself over. Some girl broke her nose." Jerome told the other. "How are you friends with her?" Monty asked. Jerome went silent. "Cindy isn't that bad. She comes from a broken home like Buggs. She takes her anger out on others and it shows. She always feels bad but is too ashamed to apologize. Her parents fight all the time. She calls me and Buggs crying everyday. She does what her parents to to each other and to her. She hates pigtails and makeup, but her mom forces her. Buggs doesnt have a family. He usually looks for aytnetion because no one gives him any. Buggs is pretty funny. He's chaotic I guess. Apparently his father was like him, so I guess it runs in the family. It's like the whole judging a book by it's cover thing. Though I guess, in a way, its true. They are cruel and mean to others. And while what happened doesnt justify it, it's the reason why. My parents pushed me. If they didn't I'd still be in middle school." Jeorme went quiet for a while. "Dad cheated on mom with the maid. I spend the weekends at her place. They're dicorced. And no one knows. Well you do but... you dont really care. They were always gonna get divorced. It was just never going to work out. They fought all the time. I don't really like the yelling." Jerome sighed.
Monty felt awkward. "I asked for why she was your friend not your life story dude-"
Jerome laughed. There was a voice on the other end. "Yeah, I was just getting off the phone with Monty. Project planning and all..... yeah no I understand, I'll be down in a minute." Monty blinked and went quiet.
"Uh so, I've got to go for dinner. See ya tomorrow Monty." Jeorme said. "Bye."
_______
"Can you belive the guy? He walks around all mighty like but when someone question how the hell he got in to those AP classes he just freaking gets all sensitive and shit!" Felix rambled. Monty shrugged. "I mean I'd be offended too if someone questioned how smart I was because of my dad." Monty said. Felix rolled his eyes. "Monty, no one can be THAT good."
"I mean it's not impossible-" Ted reasoned. Felix glared at him. Ted sighed and took a sip of his milk. "Anyway, I'm thinking about joining the robotics team. What do you guys think?" Monty asked. Carla spoke imedently. "Yes! Oh god its sooooo fun! Remember last year's competition?!"
"Yes, we all remember Carla. You dumped water one me and kissed Penny." Felix said. Carla giggled shyly.
Monty laughed. His phone buzzed. He looked at it. It was from Jerome.
Jerome: I read the book online and there's a sequel and I w a n t I t.
Monty smiled a bit. He hadn't really talked to Jerome until the peoject. But he'd always admired Jerome. Jerome was just that smart, he was handsome, charming, funny. But he was also awkward and caring.
Deep down Monty had always wanted to talk to Jerome more. "Monty! Are you even listening?!" Felix complained. Monty snapped back to reality. "Oh sorry. Zoned out."
"Who were you even talking to?" Ted asked. "Oh just my project partner." Monty said. He wasnt lying, but he wasnt saying the whole truth.
"As I was saying...."
Monty: then get it.
_____
Monty stolled next to the principals office, stopping because of the crowd. "You can't be gay. Its not natural!" He heard a voice say. It was the the principal. "Dad! I don't want to date Cindy! I'm gay! She knows this!"
A loud smack was heard from the room. Monty gasped and covered his mouth. He made his way to his next class.
"Don't be late to class. I don't need anymore disappointment today." Jerome's father said, leaving his office. Jerome swallowed and fell to the floor, sobbing quietly.
'Crying is for pussy boys.' His father had told him once. He tried his face up and left his dad's office and headed to class. He walked into the room just in time so he wasn't late. He took a seat next to Monty. The teacher explained what they're doing again.
And so the students got to work.
____
"Oh my god. Simon is a bitch!" Monty said. "Honestly Simon reminds me of you." Jerome said, grinning. Monty hit Jerome lightly. Jerome smiled at Monty. "When is it due?" Jerome asked. "On Friday." Monty answered. "Well we're basically done." Jerome said, writing things down. Monty nodded in agreement. "Dont forget the ending." Monty said. "I'm not an idiot, love. I'm the one who read the whole thing first." Jerome replied.
Monty went red at the nickname. He also went silent. Jerome hadn't noticed. "Hey, uh, can I come over to your place? Practice was canceled and dad's working late." Jerome asked. Monty blinked. "Ye-Yeah sure." Monty mentally facepalmed at the stutter.
For the rest of the class period Jerome just rambled about things. Jerome admired Monty. Monty was extremely smart and resourceful, he was strict but cool, he sold good things too. He was smart business wise as well. His glasses and differnet colored eyes were cute to Jerome. Jerome thought Monty attractive.
"Yeah so, I'm thinking of joining the robotics team." Monty said. "Oh cool, maybe we'd see each other after after school."
"You know, you'd be great at robotics Monty. I mean in kindergarten you practically built a laser beam to get your revenge on the Janitor. You could probably be a scientist come to think of it." Jerome said. Monty looked away shyly. He didn't like praise. "Yeah, I guess so."
____
Jerome looked around Monty's house. It was about a Medium size, two floors including a basement. There was a wheelchair accessible ramp on all the stairs. Jerome had been on one before, it was cool back then. He was about nine and his grandma was disabled.
Jerome, even with his loaded parents, had a modest house, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, an office, and a living room. "I like it. " Jerome said. Monty's mother had already left them to head to the store. "My room is up stairs, so we'll have to use the ramp, which luckily-"
"Can I carry you up the stairs?" Jerome asked without thinking. Monty went red. "You probably can't, considering I'm about the same-"
Again Monty was cut off. Jerome scooped Monty up into his arms with out warning. It was bridal style. Monty clung to Jerome as they went up the stairs. "Which one's yours?" Jerome asked. "That one." Monty said, pointing to his room. Jerome nodded and laid Monty down in his bed. Monty sat up half way and rolled his eyes. "I can't believe you did that?"
"You should have seen your face. It was cute." Jerome said. Upon realizing what he said he too went red. "I'm not cute." Monty said. No turning back now. "I think you are." Jerome said. Monty hid his face from Jerome. He groaned. Jerome laid down next to Monty and hugged him. "What are you doing?" Monty asked, facing Jerome. "You're comfy..." Jerome mumbled. Monty muttered a 'thanks.'
"Hey Monty?"
"Yeah Jerome?
"Will you go on a date with me?"
[THIS IS UNEDITIED AND YES HOES I DID IT BEFORE 2:00A.M]
I think more people need to hear this JFC
Before i do head off to my november art hiatus, i’d like to leave these reminders to SOME people in the DHMIS fandom who didn’t seem to get the memo, this also applies to other characters who don’t have confirmed names in the series.
Disclaimer: It’s absolutely okay if you still use the popular fanmade names, i’m not saying that you should stop using them for your interpretations n whatnot. What i’m saying is; don’t get mad at people who use different fan names for their versions of the characters and don’t mandate them to use the popular ones because you thought those were the canonical ones despite them never being confirmed by the creators. People can and will always have different interpretations and headcanons of a certain thing, don’t be a jerk and force them to have the same as yours.
