synopsis: late night drives lead to late night confessions.

a/n: inspired by a lovely dream i had of this man :p hope you love it as much as i do! <33 p.s. i’m counting on y’all to get the reference
josh:
"hey! i miss you :p wanna go for a drive?"
seeing the message flash across your screen, you smile, replying with a simple,
"ofc! <3"
joshua had just arrived home from filming. moments alone with your best friend became a rarity, taking any chance you could to hang out.
happy to leave the comfort of your home, you hurry to get ready. your mind races as you think about what adventure you will get into tonight. car rides late at night have become a tradition of some sort for you and josh.
it was these car rides you missed most. car rides that consisted of you both singing as loud as you could. car rides that sparked countless inside jokes. car rides that made you fall in love with your best friend.
like a fanfic trope, you had fallen in love with your best friend. but unlike all those fics you've read, you were almost certain your best friend reciprocated your feelings. lingering touches here and there, frequent compliments, and oh so much more only validated your feelings.
these thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a notification coming from your phone.
"i'm here :)"
darting your way to your front door, you make sure to do a mental check for everything you need. anxiously, you take a deep breath and open the door.
your breath hitches as you see joshua, leaning against his parked car with his arms stretched out and a smile adorning his face. fumbling with your keys, eager to be in his arms again, you try your best to lock the door. once accomplished, you rush over to your curly-headed friend.
wrapping your arms securely around his neck, you let out a muffled "i missed you, joshy."
"happy to be back." hearing his voice for the first time in months filled you with delight. it was relieving having him in your arms again.
reluctantly pulling away, josh gently brushes his hand over your cheek, the action making you burn up.
"ready to go?" he asks with a gentle smile.
"always."
opening the passenger door, he helps you settle in. and as you wait for him to get in, your eyes wander over the interior of the car. that was until you spotted franklin in the back seat, seatbelt secured snuggly around the stuffed teddy's tummy.
you quietly laugh to yourself as joshua opens his door and takes a seat.
"what?" he asks as he follows your gaze. he laughs along with you once realizing.
"what? he missed you and wanted to come along with us." he whines.
"oh, i'm sure he did." you lightly tease.
after driving in comfortable silence for a couple minutes, you speak up "so, where are you taking us tonight, bassett?"
"uhh i thought we'd do a little stargazing. y'know, like old times." he looks over to give you the sweetest smile imaginable. his smile alone makes you melt into your seat.
"but it's only been three months." you respond with confusion.
"yeah, but it felt like an eternity without you."
oh the things this man does to you.
needing music to still your mind, you settle on harry styles. this prompts the two of you to sing along softly, all while sneaking loving glances at each other.
after some time of driving through random neighborhoods, joshua pulls up to a small grass field. after turning the car off, josh turns to you to say "lemme go get the blanket and we'll go, yeah?"
"okay," you nod, "but i'm bringing franklin."
"he would love nothing more." he says with a playful look before getting out of the car. as you reach for the handle, you find joshua has already opened the car door for you. flustered due to his manners, you whisper a meek "thank you."
on his way to the trunk, he opens the door leading to the backseat. smiling at josh's attentiveness, you quickly unbuckle franklin.
"ready?" josh asks, already standing beside you.
"yeah, are you?"
"always."
closing the door, josh places a hand on the small of your back, leading you over to the edge of the field. once he was satisfied with the spot, he haphazardly unravels the large blanket. after a couple seconds of watching him struggle adorably, you decide to help him flatten it out.
he gestures to the blanket, “after you.”
with a smile playing on your lips, you question him, "why are you being sweeter than usual, joshua?" you take a seat, setting franklin on your lap.
he takes a seat next to you, leaving little space between you.
"i've just missed you is all." he says as he wraps his arms tightly around your shoulders. you let playful groans as he does so.
"you're gonna make me squish franklin." you pout.
"he doesn't mind."
pulling away, you both look up. a blanket of dazzling stars cover the night sky. he picked a lovely night to go out.
"y'know, while i was out there filming," he starts, "i made sure to look up at the stars every night. and there was this one star, one star that would shine brighter than all the others."
you turn your head to look at him. his eyes, like the heavenly bodies above, twinkle.
he laughs lightly to himself, continuing, "and sometimes, after those long, stressful days, i would talk to this star. i would pour my heart out, wishing and thanking that singular star. and after some time, that star became my lucky star."
he turns you to, a gentle smile planted on his lips.
"i thanked my lucky star for you every night i was away."
your breath hitches, mind not preparing you for his words.
"i wished for you to be mine."
your heart pounds against your chest as you relay your words, "well, i think you should thank your lucky star again," you smile warmly, "because i'm gladly yours."
hand once again coming up to your face, josh gently cups your cheek. he takes a second to glance down from your eyes to your lips.
"are you alright with this?"
"of course i am."
it the gentlest kiss you've had, somehow not lacking any bit of desire. it was everything you could have wished for with years of uncertainty washing away with this one kiss. thinking about pulling away was just dreadful.
then suddenly, a stuttering hiss could be heard, followed by a light mist washing over you. pulling away from each other quickly, you two assess the situation. damn sprinklers.
you throw your head back in laughter, your mind immediately going to a certain movie, as josh scrambles to his feet.
"this feels familiar." you chuckle as you take the hand he's offered.
"now you have to giggle uncontrollably while we awkwardly run through the sprinklers" he teases.
grabbing onto your waist to steady you, josh pulls you into his chest.
"we could," you suggest, "or we can kiss again?"
he smirks, "yeah, let's do that."
exchanging more needy kisses throughout the night, you can't help but thank your lucky stars for your darling boy.

a/n: the love i recieved on my first post was incredible and more than i ever expected so thank u! hope u like this one <33
"see you later!" you call out as you watch your friend walk toward their car. you decided to invite them over since tom was out at the pub tonight. having company over was a common occurrence for you whenever he went out.
after locking the door, you make your way over to the lounge to eagerly await your boyfriend and his antics.
a phone call awakens you from your slumber. you realize that you had drifted off to sleep as you check your phone. it's harry.
you pick up with a groggy "hello?"
"hey, y/n. we're parked outside, come get your lover boy." harry teases. "alright, i'm on my way out," you chuckle after hearing harry scold his older brother.
stepping out into the crisp london air, you make your way over to the car, opening the passenger door to a very drunk tom. "y/n!" tom exclaims as he struggles to take off his seat belt.
"you guys have fun?" you ask harry in the driver's seat. "oh, loads." he playfully rolls his eyes as he looks over at his brother.
seeing tom struggle, you question, "how much did you have to drink?”
"i might have had a few beers." tom sighs while looking up as if he has any recollection of the past couple hours.
"yeah right," the younger brother scoffs.
giggling, you turn to look at harry, "thanks for bringing him home."
"anytime." he says with a smile.
"good luck with that one," harry says smugly as tom stumbles out of the car.
"hey, tom. you ready to go?" you ask as he wraps his arms around your waist. "yeah, i think so." he murmurs.
you chuckle as you bring the stumbling man to your front door, both you and tom stopping to wave back at harry.
"i missed you so much while i was out." tom coos as you open the front door. tom was an affectionate drunk, always reminding you of how pretty you are. not that he doesn’t tell you every time he sees you.
"i missed you too, tommy."
it was a struggle to get him up the stairs, tripping over himself every couple steps. and as soon as the door to your shared bedroom was opened, tom threw himself onto the bed with a groan.
picking out a change of clothes for him, you ask "need help changing?"
he sits up, a playful look now adorns his face. "yes, pleaseee." he drags out.
"shirt off." you say nonchalantly.
"ask me out on a date first, yeah?" he teases as he swiftly takes off the white shirt.
as you help him change, you can't help but notice him staring at you. "what are you thinking about, tommy?"
"we would make an amazing couple." he slurs slightly.
letting out a soft laugh, you straddle his lap, "we're already a couple, you dork." you run your hands through his now unruly curls.
tom's eyes light up at the thought. it amuses you seeing the gears in this drunken man's head turn. "oh, thank god." he sighs.
as soon as your gaze falls on his, the room becomes quiet and his eyes now lustful, "darling, you're a dream." your breath hitches as soon as the words leave his mouth. his hand comes up to softly graze your cheek.
with a smirk, he whispers a gentle, "what's wrong, baby? do i take your breath away?"
realizing what he's doing, you roll your eyes and say, "you're such a tease when you're drunk."
huffing, you climb off his lap and crawl under the covers.
"c'mon darling, you know you like it." he says and quickly follows your actions.
instinctively, tom wraps his arms tightly around your waist.
sleepily locking eyes with yours, he mumbles "it's a privilege being yours, y/n."
you swear this man gives you whiplash.

flufftober drabbles (requests are closed!)
ooh, what a little moonlight can do ooh, what a little moonlight can do to you you're in love your heart's fluttering all day long
the air is stuck in your chest. with your hand pressed to your stomach, you can feel it moving up and down—you know you’re technically breathing, but your throat can’t stop constricting.
you weren’t planning on going to prom. when the topic first came up between you and your boyfriend, you were sitting in his car, parked on the side of a rarely used autoroute. the radio was off, only because you insisted on arvin not letting the car run and waste gas just to listen to music. he relented in the end, only to begin humming your favourite song with a cheesy smile, eyes focused on the view out of embarrassment instead of meeting yours.
“did lenora tell you about prom?” you asked, slowly running you your finger over his knuckles.
arvin hummed, rolling the window down a little more so you can enjoy the early summer breeze. “she mentioned it, yeah. you thinkin’ of going?”
a snort tumbled out of you without your knowledge, and you shook your head, tracing over his wrist. “nah, it’s not really my type of scene.” you trailed off, nerves suddenly washing over you. “why? you interested?”
he was leaning against the headrest, hair tousled and eyes closed in the most restful you’d ever seen him. at your coy question, though, one of his eyes cracked open. arvin glanced at you, cheeks tinged while he tried to gauge your expression before he finally said, “if you want to, i’d go. go anywhere for you, y/n/n.”
it was pretty hard to say no after that.
and now, here you are, feeling like your heart is about to jump right out of your mouth with how violently it’s beating. if it were just you and arvin enjoying a night of music and dressing up for each other, you wouldn’t be nearly as nervous. it’s not the thought of him that’s making anxiety curdle in your stomach like rotten milk—far from it. if anything, knowing he’s waiting for you only a few steps away is the only thing that’s holding you together.
it’s them. not unlike arvin’s little sister, you’re very much a quiet, nearly invisible figure among your classmates. it wasn’t much different when arvin was roaming the school hallways at the same time as you before he dropped out. back then, you weren’t very close, but it’s not like he’s oblivious of your unease in public spaces.
regardless, you know that tonight means a great deal to him, even if he hasn’t said it out loud. lenora recounted to you her brother’s excitement while he was figuring out what to wear for your prom, and the mere idea of your tough, impenetrable man trying on outfits for his family to judge was enough to make you melt. i have to get through this, you think to yourself. for arvin, who’s never asked for anything. for arvin, who simply wants to enjoy one night of normalcy and lightheartedness with you.
taking a deep breath, you cross the street to reach the school, heartbeat thumping in your ears. the streets are crowded, students hanging outside, smoking and talking together, before entering the party. if you can even call it a party. it’s held in the school’s lousy excuse of a gym, which is nothing but a large room with slippery floors and only one window. at least the doors are somewhat decorated, a very enthusiastic bright purple banner hanging across it.
your hands are completely shaking when you push them open and walk in, wincing as you get used to the music. to your utter surprise, people seem to be enjoying themselves; a rare sight in your small town. girls in puffy dresses and extravagant hairdos, boys in ill-fit suits and gelled-back hair. in the middle of it all, your eyes finally land on arvin, standing with his back against the wall near the refreshments table.
he looks so much better than you could have imagined. black trousers cinch in his waist, the legs a little too long for him, rolled up so they don’t drag on the floor. tucked into his pants is a crisp white shirt, one of the many he has, but cleaned to perfection. he’s topped the look off with a navy blazer that he keeps fiddling with, and you can already clock his cigarette pack and lighter in the breast pocket.
you feel a little underdressed, although you’re in the fanciest dress you’ve ever worn. despite the short notice and you thinking you weren’t going to step foot in the gymnasium, you were able to scrounge up all your savings to spend on a white dress. it stops a smidge above your knees, with lace around the sleeves and the hem. you felt a little embarrassed about the somewhat excessive neckline, making you cross and uncross your arms over your chest with nerves.
arvin hasn’t noticed you yet, probably because your feet feel glued to the ground near the door, like your body simply refuses to venture further into the sea of people. right as you clench your fists and decide to take the first step forward, your breath hitches in your throat as you watch someone walk towards your boyfriend.
she’s gorgeous is your first thought. the second one is not as kind. you recognise her after blinking a few times; her name is belinda “belle” fletcher, she shares a few ap courses with you and is rumoured to be the valedictorian for your graduating class. knots form in your stomach as you see her stand beside arvin, one hand running through her silky, strawberry blonde hair and the other pointing back towards her group of friends.
arvin is expressionless as she talks to him, only for a scowl to break his face when she grabs his hands with her own, laughing loudly as she moves their interlocked palms. you can only imagine she’s asking him to dance with the way she’s swinging, hair flying around her.
you can’t find it in you to watch anymore. tears clouding your vision, you exhale shakily before turning around on your heels, pushing through a few people near the door so you can exit. the walk out of school and towards the grounds is a blur of tears, regret and annoyance. you shouldn’t have run away. no, if you were more confident, if you were more confident and free like arvin—like what arvin deserves in a girlfriend, you would have walked right over to him and pushed that girl away. if you were better, prettier, more courageous and interesting, you would have kissed him in front of everyone and danced the night away.
instead, your makeup—well, just mascara—is smeared from your crying and your feet hurt. it’s colder outside than you remember it being, now that you’ve exchanged your anticipation and anxiety for self-inflicted heartbreak. you feel like you’re hearing your own name whispered by the wind until you realise it’s arvin, his figure running towards you, getting bigger and bigger as he speeds from the school building.
“y/n,” he pants when he reaches you, “what was that?”
bottom lip trembling, you can only look away from him, rubbing your arms around yourself to fend from the chilly breeze. in the darkness of the night, only the moonlight illuminates both your faces.
“y/n.” arvin repeats, stepping forward so there’s practically no space between you. one of his hands cups your cheek, thumb wiling a tear off from under your eye, while the other reaches for your hip. “darlin’, why are you crying? what’s? did somebody say something to you in there, because i swear i’ll—”
“no.” you finally manage to utter, shaking your head and breaking out of his hold. “no, i’m what’s wrong.” his eyebrows furrow with confusion, sparking more anger in your chest. “i’m not pretty like none of those girls. i don’t have the money to buy a fashionable dress—i bought this from an old neighbour and tried to fix it for myself, but it’s still nothing compared to them. i can’t pull off any hairdos and i don’t have any makeup and i’m not that smart or—or funny or interesting. you don’t deserve to spend your new shot at prom with someone like me. you deserve so much more, arvin.”
he’s stayed quiet throughout your entire rant, lips pressed into a thin line and hard eyes watching tears cascade from yours as you hiccup and spit the words out like poison. when you’re done, he still doesn’t speak, until the weight of your speech hangs heavy in the air around you.
“you done?” arvin asks, waiting for your shy nod. “i want you to listen to me very carefully now.” he closes the distance between you again, both hands coming up to cradle your face. “i love you. i love you so damn much, y/n, that it’s terrifying sometimes. and i don’t give a damn about dresses and hairstyles, doll. you would still knock the breath right out of me if you were wearing a bag of flour.”
at his exasperated confession, you can’t help but let out a teary giggle, making him smile. arvin taps your nose with the tip of his own, the tension dissipating little by little.
“you’re so beautiful, darlin’. you shine. your warmth and care, your intelligence that you always undermine, your kindness and your laugh. everything about you is beautiful.” he whispers, even though there’s no one around. your foreheads are pressed together now, and you let your eyes flutter closed. “you’re right, i don’t deserve to be with you tonight. you are so far out of my league, it shocks everyone in this fucking town that you choose to be with me, to love me. but i’m grateful you do. i’m lucky you do. and i wouldn’t wanna be with nobody else, doll.”
looking up at him, you slowly place your palms over his hands, feeling a buzz in your chest when arvin smiles at the gesture and presses a kiss to the space between your eyebrows.
“i do,” you say, a few of your fingers running through his slicked back hair. “i love you so much, arvin.”
his grin widens, a sight that only you are awarded, and his hands drop to your waist. “well then, would ya keep making me lucky and dance with me, darlin’?”
“there’s no music, dumny.” you giggle, but you still place one hand on his shoulder and let him interlock your other with his own, his lips puckering into a kiss on your knuckles before your fingers interlock.
“we’ll make our own music, baby.” arvin pulls you closer and begins swaying to a silent rhythm, before his lips brush the corner of your lips, your cheek, and your ear. he starts humming a familiar tune, drawing another laugh out of you, and you rest your head against his sturdy chest. a stop startles you, and you look up at him, only for his lips to descend on yours.
you have to force yourself not to smile too wide so you don’t ruin the kiss, so you don’t disrupt the gentle, passionate movement of his thin lips with your own. arvin kisses you like your love can stretch this night out to last forever, like the song he continues to hum in your ear when you break apart will never end.
you can't resist him
and all you'll say
when you have kissed him is
“ooh, what a little moonlight can do”
if this don’t show up in the tags idk what i’m gonna do istg 🧍🏽♀️pls lmk if it shows up for you :(

after almost an entire summer abroad, there’s no better feeling—at least for tom—than that of an empty airport at three in the morning. silence lies heavy around him, interrupted only by the occasional announcement, the clacking of suitcases rolling against the floor, and the whirring of baggage carousels turning on and off.
the feeling of utter peace and relaxation that hits tom whenever he finally comes back home becomes stronger, more overwhelming, when his phone tings loudly in his ear, where one airpod sits. he knows before he’s even pulled the device out of his jumper’s pocket that it’s you, an excited tingle spreading in his chest.
i’m in the waiting area :’)
five simple words, one endearing emoticon, and his heart feels like it’s about to burst right out of him as though it’s a rocket surging into take-off. gripping the handle of his carry-on tightly, tom shoves the phone back in his pocket and looks around him with as much enthusiasm as a dog following the scent of a feast, eyes urgently searching for the right arrows to lead him out of baggage claim and to you.
mere minutes later, he’s finally outside, breath hitching in his throat when he spots the ever so familiar yellow nirvana shirt you can’t stop “borrowing.” grin widening under his black cotton mask, tom bites his bottom lip to temper it as he hurries towards you, but it only widens when you look up from your phone at the sound of his rapidly approaching footsteps and he notices the way your mask stretches across your cheeks the same way his does.
finally within arm’s reach, tom doesn’t even utter a word. his hands find your waist with oft practiced ease, and they bring you into his chest perfectly, your head nuzzling into the crook of his neck, skin visible under his tee, clicking into him like a puzzle piece. your facemask scratches his throat, but he couldn’t care less, not when he at last feels your palms again his back, when he smells faint hints of your shampoo, when he squeezes you in his arms and you squeeze him right back.
“missed you,” he whispers, fingers splayed over your back like it’s an anchor.
“missed you more, tommy.” you grin, happiness hiding in the fabric of his blue and white jumper. pulling apart ever so lightly, you look up at him, all the knots in your stomach unravelling at the sight of his pretty brown eyes. you raise a hand up to his hair, twirling a few strands around your finger. “and i missed these curls, too,” you coo, “why have you been depriving me of these babies with your cursed gel?”
snorting happily, tom scrunches his nose and leans his head into your hands. “why are you speaking like the villain dude from aladdin?”
“you forgot jaffar’s name,” you gasp, looking at him with teasing shock, “we need a rewatch stat. come on, let’s get out of here so i can educate you on a land from a faraway place where the caravan camels roam.”
both of you think your smiles couldn’t get any bigger under your masks, and you run your thumb along the crinkles beside his right eye, longing so clear in your own gaze that tom’s got half a mind of ripping the cloth off your face and kissing you right in the middle of heathrow.
“let’s go, i don’t know how i’m going to wait to kiss you for an entire half hour.” he grumbles, an immense weight lifting off his chest as he intertwines your fingers and sets off towards the exit, carry-on rolling behind him.
mumbling to him that he can still kiss you in the car and that he doesn’t have to wait until you’re actually at your house to do it, you snort as tom shoots you his classic annoyed look. he snips back that it’s not a proper welcome home kiss unless we’re home, y/n and pretends to pout for much of the car ride, his grimace melting into laughter when you decide to pout back but can’t help yourself from wiggling along to the radio in your seat.
once you’re finally unlocking the door and tom sets his luggage down, he turns towards you with a big grin, one you can actually see clearly without his mask acting as a shield. for a moment, you’re tempted to let go of your teasing streak and let him get his way, until you’re reminded—nah, being a little shit would be more fun for you. as your boyfriend advances towards you, honeyed eyes soft with the promise of an impending smooch and many cuddles, you give him your best exaggerated wink.
and then you sprint.
“what the fuck?” tom yells, watching you with bewilderment as you run up the stairs towards your bedroom. “i can’t believe i flew eight hours for this crazy woman,” he mutters to himself, though a spark of adrenaline lights up in his chest.
soon enough, his socked feet are sliding against the hardwood floor as he chases after you, only for his eyebrows to furrow when he hears the sound of water from the master bathroom. oh. oh.
you’ve left the door unlocked and the window hasn’t fogged yet, giving tom a clear view of you. a very wet you. a very wet and naked you giving him a teasing smile, beckoning him over with your index after months of being apart. he nearly trips over his pants multiple times as he undresses, your giggles at his clumsiness and enthusiasm heard over the shower, before he’s finally bare enough to join you.
“you could’ve just told me you wanted to shower, instead of making me chase you around the house.” tom can’t help but be jokingly curt as he steps under the hot water, instantly starting to soothe his muscles after seemingly endless travels.
your arms slither around his waist, bringing him closer until your chests are pressed together, and he sighs under your touch. with the water running down your face, you reach up, cradling his cheek in the palm of your hand. “but wasn’t it more fun to surprise you? it sure looked like it was exciting for you when you banged your head on the sink trying to get undressed.”
“oh, shut up and kiss me.” tom rolls his eyes, his own arms coming around you as you snort, leaning up to finally connect your mouths.
tom’s lips are chapped from the cold and because he always forgets to drink enough water, but it doesn’t matter, not when it’s your first time tasting them after such a strenuous deprivation. your fingers burrow in his wet curls as tom’s tongue licks along your bottom lip before it slips along your own, a gentle whimper resounding from both of you at the contact.
you break away after a long moment, eyes fluttering open to see your love’s are still closed, lashes brushing the freckled apples of his cheeks. “there,” you whisper, dropping a faint peck on the tip of his nose, “weclome home, tommy.”

You yawn and glance at your last order for the night. It seems to be only a couple of minutes away but it's the special request the catches your eyes. 'Bring the pizza to the rooftop and slide the box to the left side of the door you exit. Pls and thank you. BTW the elevator is broken, I'm sorry so you could take a couple slices if you want.' Their card information also didn't go through correctly so they'd have to pay in person.
You stifle a laugh but shrug it off, it's not the weirdest request you've gotten. Though you're a bit worried about how many flights of stairs there's going to be. You'll survive, you think to yourself, you need some cardio for the day anyway.
Once you make it to the apartment and head to the stairs, you glance at the number of floors. 15.
You exhale loudly and audibly groan, stomping your foot. "They couldn't meet me at the door?" you grumble and enter the stairway, making your way up the many steps.
Less than half an hour later, you finally make it to the rooftop with sore legs and heavy breathing. Opening the door brings your relief when New York's icy air blasts against you. You let out a dramatic sigh and look around, then remembering you were told to slide the pizza to the left.
You crouch down and carefully do so, waiting to see what'll happen. Nothing happens and you assume they're waiting for you to leave so you open and close the rooftop door. You see an oddly familiar gloved hand reach to grab the pizza. Once you take a closer look, you realize it's Spider-Man's hand. Your eyes widen and you couldn't help but ask, "Spider-Man?"
You hear a faint, "Shit."
"You know, you didn't put in the correct card information so you still have to pay," you say slowly and tilt your head out in an attempt to see him leaning against the side of the building.
"I don't have cash," he calls out, a slight strain to your voice.
"It's okay," you mutter and stand back up, hesitantly stepping toward where you believe he is. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, of course," he laughs weakly and places the box in his lap, opening it up. He sighs with content and leans his head back, "Did you want a slice or something? I'll pay you back later, I promise."
"Don't worry about paying," you chuckle and rub your arm sheepishly. "Is it okay if I grab a slice or uh, see you?"
"Didn't I ask?" he retorts playfully. Your silence tells him you took him seriously. He chuckles quietly and places the box of pizza aside him. "You're okay to sit next to me, I have my mask on. Thanks for being considerate though."
You nod and walk over, expecting to see him standing. You don't see him and glance down, gasping when you see him slouching against the wall. Clear painful, deep cuts into his skin and wide tears his suit, you subconsciously kneel down next to him. "You are not okay! What the hell, I should call an emergency thing or I could bring you to the hospital. You- you were my last order anyway, oh my god. Shit, is there anything I can do?" you let your worry wash over you and reach out for him.
"Yeah," he yawns and lifts up his mask over his nose. You gulp at the sight of his busted lip and a dried bloody nose. Past his wounds are his light freckles and sharp jawline that you swear made your heart skip a beat. "Eat with me, I heard your stomach growl earlier," he mumbles and grabs a slice of pizza to take a bite.
You sit back and glance at the famed hero shocked and embarrassed, hesitantly grabbing a slice of pizza as well. "Are you sure—?"
"I don't do police or hospitals. The whole identity thing and I'll be okay, faster healing abilities, you know," he tells you with his mouth full. He swallows and smiles apologetically when he notices your look of slight disgust.
"Right..." you trail off and have a bite. "But you decided to get pizza instead of, I don't know. Something to help you?"
"This is helping, I was very hungry. So, thank you," he shrugs and gets a second slice. You blink, realizing you didn't even see him finish his first slice.
"Oh, okay, you're welcome," you nod slowly. You're appalled, what does one do in this situation anyway? It's not like you know him personally so you definitely couldn't tell him what to do as much as you'd like to help.
"Well, there is one way you can help me out," he thinks out loud as if he's been reading your thoughts.
You feel a shiver run down your spine for some reason and look back up at him. "Yes?"
"I mean, it'd be pretty cool if you could become my designated pizza deliverer or something. Would you be okay with meeting me on this roof regularly? Don't worry about the elevator, it's going to be fixed soon and I won't forget my card information again. It's just you know, kinda out of it," he laughs softly and goes for his fourth slice.
You smile slightly at the sound of his comforting voice, you didn't think someone could sound so. Pretty?
"It's cold, how are you blushing?" he speaks up. "Unless, am I making you blush? It's okay, it's a normal thing," he taunts.
Your jaw drops slightly, you didn't expect this kind of talk from him. Then again he is probably just some regular guy underneath the mask, but given his status, you've unintentionally already had this persona in your mind for him.
"Yeah, you are," you decide to admit. He goes quiet, not expecting your response to be that. "I think you're pretty."
His chewing slows down and he peers over at you with even more interest than he had before. "How? You've only seen my nose and lips."
"Your voice is pretty too so, you must be a pretty person," you shrug sheepishly and wipe the grease from your fingers onto your work pants.
"Thanks. You're pretty too. Pretty cute, with the whole pizza girl outfit too."
You now feel your blood rush to your cheeks from his compliment. How could he think so though? You question, knowing, or feeling you look awkward with your goofy work uniform and messy hair.
"Thank you," you bite your lip and peek at your phone for the time. "Oh shit, I think I have to go now. Are you sure you're going to be okay?"
He smiles slightly and nods, pushing the box aside when he finished up the rest of the pizza. "Yep. Hey, will you still be working at this place tomorrow?"
You let out an obnoxious laugh and clear your throat when he tilts his head. "Oh uh, yeah. Just found it funny because I won't be leaving this job anytime soon. I need it you know, rent and stuff."
"Yeah, I get it. So, you could be my designated pizza deliverer, right? Please? That would be so cool. What's your name, by the way?"
"I mean I guess I can, sure. Yeah, why not," you stand up and rock on your heels. "And uhm, Y/n."
"Sweet. I'll request your service specifically and sign off my special notes with Arachnid. Deal?"
You nod and turn your heel to leave until something hits you, "Deal. Wait, why is this a deal?"
"Because, I get special service and a date with a pretty girl, and pizza every time I order, of course. And well for you, I don't know. This mainly benefits me, I'm a dick, sorry," he chuckles and pulls down his mask.
"O-Oh? No, it's okay, this uh, this definitely benefits me," you stammer and shake your head, slowly walking ahead. "I hope you heal well and get some rest. I'll see you later then, Spider-Man," you wave at him timidly and head through the door with a hammering heartbeat and a giddy feeling bubbling in your stomach.
He smiles to himself and sighs contently, "See you."
