Ok, Ok, Ok... Denmark CAN Be Quite Beautiful In June... When You Ask The Clouds And The Sun To Pull Themselves

Ok, Ok, Ok... Denmark CAN Be Quite Beautiful In June... When You Ask The Clouds And The Sun To Pull Themselves

Ok, ok, ok... Denmark CAN be quite beautiful in june... When you ask the clouds and the sun to pull themselves together and cooperate. Then they just might bother to make a schetchy sky that's worth taking a glance at. But I really had to negotiate, being the go-between and middleman, to make clouds, sun, and suburban horizon to at least give it a try... AND a moment after that effort, the elements ofcouse hurried back to its seperate safety, leaving the sky all empty if not plain dull... (An hour later rain btw took over.) But what can you expect? This is Denmark. Where the weather changes like roll of dices... Am I being way too negative? Maybe... That will have to be my problem then. Which I suppose it is. I'm really having problems adjusting to this climate. But, as said / written: My problem. This moment though WAS nice! Trying hard to be positive... 😊 #denmark #summer #clouds #sun #åbyhøj #cloudscape #mindscape #remembering #wishing #somewhereelse #longing #likeaspoiledbraticomebacktodanishsummerandthenwishineverhadleftanothersummersomewhereinsouthofeuropenowthatisreallybeingaspoiledbratandnotgratefulatall (Usual one-off hashtag) #udenfilter #mantelmomento #danielmantel #laurieandthestoryof (Not here, except luckily still in my head...) #primeiroproximopasso (Also very far away; guess I'll have to go back and pick up his trail!) This Is What I Have To Go Through... On My Way Home (yes; Home!) From A Café Or Bar To My Hotel At Night.

This is what I have to go through... On my way home (yes; home!) from a café or bar to my hotel at night. And it will be cool then, only about 20 degrees celsius. At daytime, the shadows in this little parque are much appreciated; today around 30 degrees... BUT who gives a damn about the weather! Like talking about it... Yeah right... So: An "old" mobile-cam like the one in my Xperia Z5 Compact, actually makes better pictures than the (small but new) 'real' digital camera. Like the lights/shadows in this photo. Back to my troubles: This is what I have to put up with after an evening out in Castelo de Vide. A small town; population 3.500... What would "a night out" in a danish town with under 4.000 inhabitants be like? I don't wonder; I know... So why the difference? In favor of Castelo de Vide, obviously. Cultural totally other way of living. Here is actually LIFE! Also at night. "Because of the climate", some say. Well, in winter here it is (very) cold and (very) wet! I do know... I simply don't buy that 'climate-thing'. But back to my troubles... And my hotel, eventually. Then I'm supposed to write! When I can sit on my balcony, and look at the lights on the opposite small mountain, the valley, the town... And breathe that air. And... Oh, I do REALLY have a hard time... Right? No?!?! Well... #castelodevide #jardim #nightlights #night #park #paradise #streaks #nightout #culturaldifferences #portugueseculture #wayoflife #whyiloveportugal #laurieandthestoryof (It IS still there, somewhere...) #andtheniamsupposedtogotomyhotelandactuallydosomewritingwheniamalmosttoohappyafteranightoutincastelodevideanditspeople (Usual one-off hashtag...) #udenfilter (none whatsoever!) #mantelmomento #danielmantel (her: Castelo de Vide)

THOSE INSISTING STORIES. And So The Stories Forced Their Way Back. Not Readable, Not Even As Individual

THOSE INSISTING STORIES. And so the stories forced their way back. Not readable, not even as individual or separated tales. Not narratives. Yet. For very good reasons: I've tried to keep them out of my head. Reality had pushed aside fiction. I had told myself, trying to be serious. Yeah right. As if… Only fooling myself. This gave me a new insight. Don't know if I dream in colours. But my stories start out in all of the rainbows. Plus some. Fills my head, not even really born, but in random patterns. That of course aren't random at all. Changing for every time they block my view to reality. Thus making me doubt what's real and what's fiction, but then I just shrug: Back to the usual mindset. The stories are as real as any kind of reality. Now I know how they appear before they are conscious. Before they know themselves. Guess I better help them. Guess that's my purpose. Being the midwife of my own imagination. Forming my fiction. #mantelmoment #mantelmomento #danielmantel #danielversionII #fiction #stories #backoninstagram #toomuchreality #brainwork #pattern #colours #fictionoverreality #isthisme #question #answer #meandmymind #icanlivewiththat #afteralotofoftoomuchrealityitsactuallyarelieftoseethestoriesbeginningtoforminsidemybrain (Usual one-off hashtag) (her: Fix My Brain) https://www.instagram.com/p/BpB5g3DHgRn/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=14gmgtp1zb9hm

There Once Was A Somewhat Confused Animal. It Couldn't Quite Figure Out Where It Belonged And, More Important,

There once was a somewhat confused animal. It couldn't quite figure out where it belonged and, more important, what it was. Though it tried hard. It was aware that instead of limbs, it just had some tiny fins and a slightly bigger tail. Only suitable for moving around in shallow water. But it just wasn't enough. For that animal. "Am I really a fish?". The maybe-not fish concluded, that it needed to try something else. Anything! It found one of those mystical almost mythical things, that so many had hung itself on. And in seconds, almost like magic, had disappeared to somewhere else. To what kind of world? There where whispers of danger, stories of horror, but this not very fishy fish took the chance: ANY world other than this was worth trying! It pretended to swallow the bait. And soon felt the rush up towards the surface. #mantelmomento #danielmantel #animal #fiction #worlds #thegrassisalwaysgreener #filter (in many ways) #searching #fishinwater #caught #notright #farfromhome #whateverindicatesbeingoutofplaceandnotfeelingthisworldbeingtherightone (Usual one-off hashtag...) And you keep learning; the journey never stops. Not without you. Not with you. Thx for that.

part of being an adult is living with regret and not allowing it to consume you. the older you get, the more mistakes you make, the more opportunities you missed, the more people you’ve let down. forgive yourself. don’t beat yourself up. you’re still learning: this is a journey.

And not even close...

“Sometimes people think they know you. They know a few facts about you, and they piece you together in a way that makes sense to them. And if you don’t know yourself very well, you might even believe that they are right. But the truth is, that isn’t you. That isn’t you at all.”

And even if you don't eat your toast, don't drink your tea... The sun WILL come up.

“The worst thing in the world can happen, but the next day the sun will come up. And you will eat your toast. And you will drink your tea.”
