Here we see conversion specialists prepping a new subject for its future existence with a smile on their faces and a laugh on their lips. When she called me into her office, I hurried in, not wanting to keep her waiting. She was a demanding and frankly terrifying boss, known for her brutal verbal tirades whenever an employee failed to meet her very lofty expectations. I knocked softly, and heard her say “come,” without looking up from whatever she was writing, and then I stood there quietly waiting.

Finally, she looked at me and made a confused, annoyed face, and said “well? What are you waiting for? Get to it.”

I was so intimidated and terrified it was all I could do to stammer out “wh-what do you want m-m-me to d-do…mmmma’m?”

“Are you actually this stupid?” she retorted, “or are you just being insolent and dissect fuck right now?”

I felt my face growing hot and red and I was on the verge of tears. “I-I-I’m sorry ma’am, I will do anything for you, b-but i just don’t know what you want!” I blurted.

She looked at me point blank then, for what seemed like forever. Then finally. I saw her eyes dart down and to her right. I followed her glance towards to shoes on the floor, and gave her a confused look, to which said simply. “I’ll have you clean them for me, as well as my boots.”

“Uhh… now?” I asked, my voice cracking.

“Yes now, of course stupid. Right now, on your hands and knees.” she demanded, and I reflexively sunk down, then she snapped “get licking, and do a good job- I want them shiny like new.”

I stared at her boots, struggling to believe this was really happening. She can’t really expect me to do this, I thought. This is beyond demeaning, beyond workplace harassment- this was a total abuse of power, even a felony! Then she snapped impatiently, “let’s go, stupid, do as you’re told, or pack your things and never come back- I haven’t got all day…”. By now I was really trembling, overwhelmed by the whole thing, and not wanting to be fired, I felt like I had no choice, so I leaned forward and down, and I began licking her boots, and she returned to whatever it was she was writing, as though I wasn’t even there. I licked tentatively at first, disgusted by the taste of the dirt hitting my tongue and disgusted with myself for submitting to such treatment, but as I licked, something happened inside of me. I began to calm down and feel oddly at peace, like I was doing something I was meant for.
