AZULA GET BACK HERE-
Any fire siblings concept that gives them this vibe is an automatic favorite
Concept: Fire-sibs with Congenital Prosopagnosia. They’re face-blind.
Azula is fine. She chose 2 friends with extremely distinctive voices & body-language and decided that was enough. Recognizing anyone else is beneath her station as a princess. If they were important they’d wear a crown.
Zuko on the other hand has been on this ship for 3 years and he’s concerned that if he doesn’t capture the Avatar soon, this group of middle-aged men might begin to suspect can’t tell them apart.
Literally any disguise will fool Zuko. Cover Aang’s tattoos and he can’t pick him out of a lineup. Fortunately water-tribe teens are rare outside of the poles, and Aang has a habit of declaring himself the Avatar so he stands a chance as long as they don’t catch on…
Bonus: Ty Lee’s sisters don’t even look that much like her. It’s just a standard familial resemblance. But Zuko and Azula both made the mistake several times as children and have complained about how hard it is to tell them all apart, and nobody bothered to correct them (because royalty) so Ty Lee believed them.
No outbreak AU where Sarah and Ellie are sisters and Joel's their dad. Sarah does soccer and Ellie does ballet (to everyone's surprise, she's pretty good). Except whenever Joel tells people that one of his daughters dances and the other one plays soccer they think it's the other way around. Just bc I think that could be fucking hilarious.
Bonus: Ellie and Dina meeting at dance :)
Jet graduates from food theft to swiping angsty tea servers
I want a scene, post Azula reconciliation, where there's a quiet moment between her and Zuko and Iroh on Lu Ten's birthday when she starts laughing. She looks at Zuko and is like 'do you remember when Uncle and Lu Ten came back from Lu Ten's military training and we decided to jump him to test him?"
Iroh, who has not heard this story, is curious and confused as Zuko digs for the memory.
'Oh yeah! It was so late and we'd stayed up for hours! Mom sent us to bed but we wanted to stay up because' he looks at Iroh 'you were in your gift-giving phase and we wanted to see what you were going to bring us'
Azula continues the explanation to Iroh. 'We snuck into Lu Ten's room, we waited for HOURS.'
Iroh, bewildered but intrigued, nods. 'We had been delayed on our way home'.
'Right,' Azula continues. 'So we're almost asleep hiding behind Lu Ten's curtains and he FINALLY gets there. So we wait and then...'
Azula's giggles are punctured with a snort as Zuko continues the memory, looking at his sister as though it had been her idea, but he had been far too eager to see his cousin and play again.
'You charged and grabbed him; he screamed so loud. Then I tried to follow, but I had been tying knots in the curtain cords and got caught up and tore the whole thing off of the wall. We were all covered and couldn't see anything and you were still trying to fight him under the curtain-'
'While you were both screaming!!' Azula howls in laughter.
Iroh listens happily; beaming and very happy to hear an unheard tale.
Azula continues. 'He picked us up by our collars like it was nothing. I was still trying to fight. He puts us on the floor and says 'So help me Agni if you do that again I'll make sure Dad never has to buy gifts while on tour ever again.'
Iroh laughs at Azula's spot-on imitation if his late son.
Zuko laughs as well. 'But then we hugged him.'
'Oh he MELTED,' Azula adds. 'He hugged us back so tight. I... I think that had been the first hug we'd had in a while. We dogpiled in his bed and he told us stories until we passed out.'
'Which wasn't long.' Zuko says.
Iroh looks at the siblings as they reminisce; he wipes a tear and hugs them, hoping to emulate Lu Ten's hug that had once given them comfort they didn't know they needed.
'Thank you.' He says. 'He never shared that with me.'
'It... might not have seemed important.' Azula says, still getting used to hugs from her uncle. She awkwardly pats his arm as they part.
Iroh laughs. 'Or maybe he didn't want to admit to his father that he had been ambushed by children. But... often the things that may not seem important, in time, become the most special.'

so the live action huh
June 9: Role Swap (Firelord Roku/Avatar Sozin)
As you can see, the avatar's powers are only being used responsibly
Defiantly not used to be taller then your bf
Family breakfasts with Tommy have become somewhat of a routine.
He comes over on the days Maria leaves for her work early (which is more often than not), eats her granola and drinks Joel's coffee, and they talk about whatever they feel like, though Ellie loves asking him about his recent patrols. She kicks her feet up into Joel's lap and draws it out as long as she can before sprinting all the way to school, but it's worth it if it means just one more story.
Today, though, she's late. Really fucking late. It's not her fault she got a bit distracted by the new book Tommy had brought her last afternoon (it's about SPACE Joel, that trumps school and sleep by a mile), but now she had about five minutes to get out of the house and into the classroom. Ellie barrels down the stairs, bag slung over her shoulder, and has to catch herself on the banister to not slip on the floor once she jumps over the last few steps
"Careful, baby," Joel calls over, worriedly watching her put on her shoes while standing on one leg, jumping to keep her balance. Tommy, on the other hand, looks majorly amused, and she can hear him chuckle.
"Yeah, yeah, old man, I can keep my balance just fine."
She ties her laces so she doesn't trip once she starts running and is about to leave when Joel whistles to call her back.
"Breakfast, Ellie."
Fucking Joel and his stupid rules, but Ellie spins on the spot and uses the kitchen door frame to propel herself toward the counter and pick up two apples for later, stuffing them into her bag with a happy? thrown over her shoulder.
"Mh, have a nice day at school, kiddo," he tries to sound all parental, but she can hear the softness bleeding through and just knows he's holding back a grin. Ellie crosses the distance between them with two big steps and slings her arms around his neck, allowing herself the luxury of melting against him for a few precious seconds when he gently rubs his thumbs over her wrists and lifts her clasped hands to press a kiss to her knuckles.
With a heavy sigh and a silent fuck you to whoever invented math, she pulls back, but not without pressing a kiss to Joel's cheek, basking in the smile he gives her; it's so easy to make him happy, and she does it as much as she can.
Ellie can feel Tommy's eyes on them, he always watches them with a gleeful mixture of amusement and affection, and over the last year, he has settled into the warm parts of her heart, too. He is right between her and the door, sipping on his coffee, so, really, it's not even a conscious choice, more of a reflex.
Her hand comes down on the table when she steps toward the front door and away from Joel, balancing herself so she can lean around the back of his chair and press a quick kiss to his cheek, too. Ellie bites back the small laugh bubbling up when she sees the expression on his face, mouth slightly open, eyes seeking help from Joel, who simply shrugs and picks up his cup again.
Another minute ticks by on the kitchen clock, and she is finally on her way out, the goodbye she yells at them cut off when the front door slams close behind her.
-
("What the hell was that?"
"She is laying her claim on you."
"Whatever that means, Joel, she's your kid, not mine."
"Better get ready to give up your personal space and half your closet."
"My clothes, really?"
"You never know what she might do next, prepare for the worst."
"Are you sure she's not yours? 'Cause this sounds oddly familiar."
"Oh, she is, she just found me all on her own."
"Glad she did, haven't seen you smile like that in twenty years."
"Give it a week and I'll tell you the same thing.")
No, but what if Zuko is adopted by the Avatar Spirit? Not Aang, but the World-Spirit-that-resides-in-him specifically. Just imagine: the Avatar state is said to strip away all semblance of self but Aang can't help the disbelief as his mouth form the words "GO TO YOUR ROOM"
I feel like this is a hilarious addition to the "someone adopts Zuko" trope. @muffinlance, this is funnier if it's Zuko-pre-redemption, right? Everyone would be SO confused.

Notes:
- Hunter being able to flowers from his palistrom hair is definitely not a new idea, not quite sure where it originated from though.
- Lizards eat their shed skin because it still has a lot of nutrients! So basically, Vee’s shed is filled with magic, hence why it just poofs away, and Vee sucks the rest up.
- Also cus of this Vee goes through an emo phase every now and again, cus I said so.
- Hunter’s look is all Darius.
Aang names every single animal he meets. He can see an insect chilling right next to him and be like "oh, hi Bob" or something
When Zuko told the Gaang about how he got his scar they all climbed on him and forced him to be hugged for a few (tearful) hours afterwards
Suki likes to draw and when Sokka finds out about it he definitely signs them up for these artistic dates or something
Toph made her statues herself
When Sokka admitted to his family that he forgot what Kya looked like everyone was utterly shocked and told him he's almost identical to her (yes, Sokka cried after hearing that)
After the war Iroh starts calling Zuko "son" instead of "nephew"
Zuko still can't get rid of the bad and scary burden the word "father" has so he still calls Iroh "uncle" but being called son by him makes him so so happy
Iroh has a tea blend for every member of the Gaang so when they come all exited and he can't catch what they order in between their conversations (or when they come sad and can't utter a word) he knows just what tea to make
