astrology is deeply a practice where you need to live in order to learn. you only really become an avid reader through experience. this is why, no matter how much it gains popularity in trend cycles, it never sticks. very few people really want to dedicate so much time to a craft as elusive as chart reading.

you can read books, blogs, and posts all day and nothing will deeply resonate because you haven’t yet lived through certain experiences. i never had a saturn return. i’ve only had one 12th house profection year. etc. there’s only so much expertise i can have on things i have yet to live through.

you have to be ready to cast charts at any notable moment to be able to read and identify trends, yet balance that so you don’t trigger yourself. i believe astrology chooses people, not the other way around. sometimes, it’s not your time to learn how to read. and other times, some people are simply not readers. it’s not for them.

and contrary to what anybody says, astrologers NEED other astrologers. you don’t have all of the world’s knowledge in your mind. we share consciousness, we share knowledge. astrology is largely communal based, so that people who have lived through it or experienced something differently than you (even if they have nearly exact placements) can share their own wisdom.

that’s why i hate when people start smelling themselves too much when they’re new to astrology, because astrology is one of those practices where the more you know, the less you understand. get comfortable with knowing you don’t know a goddamn thing.
