I am laughing at how ridiculous that post is. Listen, anon, this is the kind of thing you look at and laugh at. Cause what else can you do? The way that post is made, the sheer insecurity and willful ignorance reeking off of it is self-explanatory.

It's a bland rage bait, okay. You could play a drinking game with stuff like that. Take a shot every time someone just blatantly makes up something to hate Percy for. People's reasons for hating Percy keep getting more and more ridiculous and self invented.

So when you come across posts like that, just have a good laugh and move on. You don't argue with a flat earther. It's that sort of thing. The only people worth arguing or discussing with are those who listen to reason and are willing to respond with reason.

This is for everyone. I know we all love certain characters or hyperfixations and cannot tolerate much negativity against them. And sure you don't just have to sit and take their criticisms, feel free to correct their misconceptions or express that this is a space for that particular interest and therefore no negativity is welcome. But everyone is entitled to their opinion. As long as they are not enforcing it on you, just ignore it.

And even then, there's a merit to the kind of hate you should respond to. In the end, it is up to us to have respect for our own time and opinion. So, if any such posts have been forwarded to me for a response and you haven't gotten one, this is why. There are just some things too blatantly dumb to invest time arguing against .

Almost my entire blog is proof enough against that take, so enough said, really. But good on you for sending me this and giving me something to laugh at.

do you think hayley is in love with klaus? and if she is in love with klaus, why did she have an affair with elijah and not give klaus a chance?

Ah this is an easy question. The entirety of Klaus and Hayley's relationship is governed by two factors, circumstances and timing. Try and put yourself in Hayley's shoes. She sleeps with Klaus ends up pregnant and doesn't know it until the witches kidnap her. Now the only person she wants to see is Klaus but he doesn't show up, instead Elijah does. Hayley is obviously freaked out by the whole ordeal and Elijah comforts her. Now when Klaus does show up all he does is throw accusations at her of sleeping with another man and says to her face to kill her and the baby. Even when he accepts the baby he only gives a damn about the child not Hayley. Upto that point only Elijah has shown genuine concern towards Hayley herself and not the baby so obviously she starts to like him. I'm season 1 there are definitely sweet moments between Klaus and Hayley but Klaus always alternates between hot and cold. He is kind one time and absolutely hostile the next so she naturally finds comfort in Elijah and starts a relationship with him. Why cause Klaus doesn't give a damn about her, only the baby and he is off with Genevive and Cami in s1. Now Hayley truly realizes she loves him when he is ready to sacrifice himself for hope but the problem is by the time they both realize it that is in season 3 they are already in too deep with Cami and Elijah and Jackson. Then Cami and Jackson die and they both bond over that but Klaus pushes her in Elijah's direction in season 3 just like he pushed her to Jackson in season 2 for the sake of having a pack to rule over. The writers themselves screwed everything by not properly setting the pace for Klayley and instead chose other ships.

So to answer your question yes Hayley absolutely loves Klaus given how many times she prioritizes him over everyone else wants him safe and whatnot. When Hayley wasn’t ready for a relationship with Klaus and actually wanted Klaus to be kind, to give him a chance, he was not. When he was kind later, and she tried to give him a chance he shut the door in her face and considered her to have no feelings for him (I thought i was out of the running ages ago he says to her while she writes the letter in season 1) and hence pushed her to other men while trying to strategically tie her to him. Because to Klaus Hope and Hayley are package deal, amd that's non-negotiable. He wouldn’t take one while giving up the other. He doesn't give a fuck about anything else. His thought process goes like this: I can't have her she likes someone else but I will die before I let her go so better she be with my brother and they both stay. Two birds in one stone.

Hayley's is like this: Klaus is the father of my daughter and I want him in her life, that’s non negotiable but he doesn't love me like that and Elijah does and I have already reciprocated to Elijah so I will stay with him.(she only married Jackson to fulfil Klaus's demands and that also gave her control over the pack. Again two birds in one stone. She can have Klaus and the pack like that)

Yeah, it's hell when you think of it but the fact that they will go to such lengths to be with each other(in each other's life) should be evidence enough of love.

a quick psa to anyone recently getting into greek mythology and is a victim of tumblr and/or tiktok misconceptions:

-there is no shame in being introduced to mytholgy from something like percy jackson, epic the musical or anything like that, but keep in mind that actual myths are going to be VERY different from modern retellings

-the myth of medusa you probably know (her being a victim of poseidon and being cursed by athena) isn't 100% accurate to GREEK mythology (look up ovid)

-there is no version of persephone's abduction in which persephone willingly stays with hades, that's a tumblr invention (look up homeric hymn to demeter)

-as much as i would like it, no, cerberus' name does not mean "spot" (probably a misunderstanding from this wikipedia article)

-zeus isn't the only god who does terrible things to women, your fav male god probably has done the same

-on that note, your fav greek hero has probably done some heinous shit as well

-gods are more complicated than simply being "god of [insert thing]", many titles overlap between gods and some may even change depending on where they were worshipped

-also, apollo and artemis being the gods of the sun and the moon isn't 100% accurate, their main aspects as deities originally were music and the hunt

-titans and gods aren't two wholly different concepts, titan is just the word used to decribe the generation of gods before the olympians

-hector isn't the villain some people make him out to be

-hephaestus WAS married to aphrodite. they divorced. yes, divorce was a thing in ancient greece. hephaestus' wife is aglaia

-ancient greek society didn't have the same concepts of sexuality that we have now, it's incorrect to describe virgin goddesses like artemis and athena as lesbians, BUT it's also not wholly accurate to describe them as aromantic/asexual, it's more complex than that

-you can never fully understand certain myths if you don't understand the societal context in which they were told

-myths have lots and lots of retellings, there isn't one singular "canon", but we can try to distinguish between older and newer versions and bewteen greek and roman versions

-most of what you know about sparta is probably incorrect

-reading/waching retellings is not a substitute to reading the original myths, read the iliad! read the odyssey! i know they may seem intimidating, but they're much more entertaining than you may think

greek mythology is so complex and interesting, don't go into it with preconcieved notions! try to be open to learn!

My take is that since gods are immortal, Styx can't actually punish them directly, but she can punish their children.

Thalia died once, lived trapped in a tree for at least 5 years before Kronos intervened in her fate.

Jason is dead on top of having a horrible fate in the first place, so that price has been collected.

And Percy fell into Tartarus, and his own life has been a terrible fate on himself, and I think the only reason he lives is because he dared to jump into the Styx, survived, and attained it's blessing or curse as you see it.

Not to mention, Hera intervened in his fate on sacred grounds past which the curse cannot extend. Even though he did lose the Curse of Achilles,Styx is all about oaths. Once blessed, always blessed. Percy Jackson alone has escaped the fate of a gruesome death. For now, at least.

Though I did read a fanfiction on how Styx enacted its revenge with it ending in all 3 demigods dying. I will reblog if I find it.

And the gods have eternity to suffer for; their punishment won't be instantaneous. Maybe this all sets in motion a revolt so great that the hierarchy of Olympus falls.

One thing that always made me wonder is how there doesn't seem to be any consequences to breaking their oath for Poseidon and Zeus.

Swearing upon the Styx is built up and treated like this really big thing all throughout the story. Everyone makes a big deal out of it- even the gods don't want to break them! So clearly there should be some consequences. Yet I can't help but notice there are none! Like, genuinely nothing ever really happens to Zeus OR Poseidon for breaking their oaths as far as I know. At least nothing that would genuinely damage them or hurt them. (I have seen somewhere that Kronos' and Gaia's rise were their punishments, though that falls apart when you remember those events were prophesized to happen before the oath was broken. Thus they had nothing to do with it.) Like genuinely idk whether Rick forgot about this or if I misunderstood something. But this seems like a PRETTY BIG PLOT HOLE TO HAVE-

I keep seeing the argument that Percy is plot armored and that other big three kids should be as powerful as him or more in the case of Thalia and Jason. I don't think that the inherent nature of their personalities is really taken into account.

The first argument is that Zeus is the king of Gods so his children should obviously be more powerful. This is a misunderstanding, Gods only ever transfer basic abilities to their children. Everything else that comes after is all a credit to the children themselves. (For e.g, how only Leo is able to summon fire even though there are many children of Hepheastus or how only Meg shows stronger, more deadly abilities of Demeter's domain.)

Percy's basic ability to control over water or earth comes from Poseidon but it's Percy's mindset, upbringing and motivations enhance and expand his abilities to the next level.

1)Thalia: She probably has more potential but is held back by her fear of heights and is therefore unable to exercise wind control. Her lightning control is way better and stronger but it's limited by her spite for Zeus or her overall fear of what ambition might do to her.(Titan's Curse subtly alludes to this)

2)Jason shows more inclination towards wind control more so than lightning perhaps because it's comes to him gar easier than lightning which requires rawness more so than discipline. His greatest downfall is his commitment to rules and his stern belief in doing things in a set way.

Jason is a lot of things, but he isn't very creative, nor is he a good out of the box thinker, so he just sticks to the rudimentary abilities he has and doesn't even think to explore Another good reason is that since Roman counteroarts of Gods are so disciplined, they do not indulge in the true raw nature of their power, and hence, Roman demigods are technically weaker in terms of raw power. (LOOK at the life expectancy of Greek demigods and how strongly they attract monsters).

He just doesn't have the touch of madness that sparks power in the big three children of Greek counterparts.

Jason is also not the type to damn the world for people he loves while we know the Jackson Family preaches the "do anything and everything under the sun to protect the ones we love. "

But mostly all of them, Thalia or Jason, believe there's a limit to what they can do or can be done and controlled while Percy has no sense of such predetermined boundaries. He is an open-minded and extremely adaptable fighter. He believes anything and everything could be used against his opponents, and hence, his fighting style is also better and far more unpredictable than usual. Percy also doesn't believe he is all that powerful, so he thinks there's always more to channel.

[It also helps that Poseidon favors Percy to the moon and back while Jupiter just gave Jason as a guilty gift to Juno.]

3)Now Nico has a good chance of being way more powerful than Thalia and Jason and isn't also very held back by moral concerns. His problem is that his powers are much too vast for him to control, and they always get the better of him. Raising the dead? Traveling through Shadows? Hands down Hades has the most op abilities to give. But this fact aside Nico also lacks the enhanced physical strength and the necessary experience to use his powers.

Last but not the least Percy is the most connected to his father's domain. He has sat on his father's throne, he has been in his father's secondary seat of power, Atlantis.

So overall, Percy is and will be the strongest demigod for a long, long time.

I Feel Like We Don’t Talk About This Scene From The Titan’s Curse Enough, Because I Think About This

i feel like we don’t talk about this scene from the titan’s curse enough, because i think about this a lot. like… a lot. the way he was just like ‘oh i can move faster than bullets, that’s cool’, and then immediately moved on and never thought about it again?? i mean, i knew he could SWIM at mach 5, which is…. hypersonic speed, and equivalent to 3836 miles per hour. and i know all demigods are naturally a bit faster than humans. but like… he can move faster than bullets?

i guess i just wasn’t expecting perseus to go all spider-man on me, that’s all

Finally, thoughts on Percy beating Iapetus when they met? This boy managed to control the Lethe even while dying of a deadly poison and maintained that control even while tackling a Titan into it, resulting in the Titan becoming an amnesiac. And he was still injured throughout the whole fight!!

do not get me started because that is...

iconic behavior.

anyway, this is why i have such strong feelings about percy being a part of the ocean. i love love love how nico and thalia are doubtful that he can control the river lethe, and then he just. proves them wrong in the best way possible. there are just so many moments throughout pjo that leave everyone like 👁👄👁 when they see percy do some freaky impossible thing with his powers, and this scene with the big three trio is the perfect example of that.

nico and thalia are both powerful in their own right, but their powers leave them drained all the time. they can only use their abilities sparingly. percy, on the other hand, gets invigorated by water. and it’s glaringly obvious how powerful he’s become, because even other bodies of water that aren’t the ocean obey to his every command. and like, the fact that he could keep up the fight with iapetus, wash away his memories, and maintain control over the river just goes to show much more intrinsic his connection to his godly side is—unlike nico and thalia, whose powers and strengths are superficial, albeit more advanced than those of the average demigod. how percy is this way is still a mystery to me, though i do think that @posallys miss taylor knows the answer. but it’s still something so strange, for a demigod to possess so much control over their godly parent’s sphere of influence, although poseidon’s sphere of influence is one of the most primordial ones amosngt the olympians so. there’s that. it’s genuinely so cool, and i get why the gods are scared :)

This should have been obvious enough, but apparently, the fandom is blind. It's literally scientific. Natural red hair and green eyes alone have Rachel winning the genetic lottery, not to mention Percy, who has seen many goddesses found her to be extremely beautiful. The only reason we have to even debate this is due to toxic Annabeth stans who seek to deny anything that puts Annabeth in a lesser light, which is basically in most things.

The only reason Percy claimed that Aphrodite looked like Annabeth was because he's never seen Rachel, who is actually the hottest woman in the Riordanverse series, other than Zia Rashid, and sometimes Alex Fierro.

Hades is just uncomfortable cause Percy beat the shit out of his army and had him at swordpoint. But there's no way he has any right to bear a grudge when he was the one who detained Percy. Plus, considering Percy vouched for Hades and his children in his wish, there's no way Hades won't show gratitude. As Poseidon says, even the Lord of the Dead pays his debts.

If that wasn't enough, Percy was one of the instrumental people in saving Thanatos, Hades's right hand in the Underworld, the god of death, so there's that. There's also the fact that Percy is super close with Hazel, who looks up to him like another brother. Bianca herself trusted Percy enough to leave Nico to him and again Percy was also the one who got Nico out of the jar along with Jason.

So I don't see why Hades would have a beef with Percy considering Hades sort of owes Percy for so many things. But I see why one might think so cause Hades has complex feelings when it comes to Percy given the things Percy has done and the stuff Percy knows.

Percy is one of the few people to know that Hades cursed the Oracle of Delphi. And the reasons behind it. I don't remember whether Apollo knows who cursed his Oracle but I am sure that won't go over well with either Apollo or any other Olympians; after all the Oracle is always under the sacred protection of the King of Olympus and Olympians themselves. So it's definitely quite punishable to curse the Oracle.

And if you remember the short story, the Sword of Hades where Persephone fucks up by going behind Hades's back and trying to create another great weapon for him and forces Percy, Thalia and Nico into a quest. The punishment for an Elder God forging another weapon of power is enough to incur severe consequences from the rest, especially Zeus and Poseidon. While Hades wasn't directly at fault, it was under his name that the weapon was being made. Thankfully, neither Thalia nor Percy snitched on what Persephone was upto and so only five of them knew. And if that got out, it might become very problematic for Hades.

Which is another reason why he has complicated opinions on Percy, a demigod to whom he either owes quite a bit to when it comes to his children and someone who knows things about Hades that he rather not have anyone know. But either way he definitely won't be petty to Percy in terms like the ones op mentioned, cause there's Poseidon to think of and Hades knows that Poseidon loves Percy enough to take actions like Hades banning Percy from entering the Underworld as a slight against himself as well. I just find it so funny that all of the Big Three have a very uncomfortable relationship with Percy. Hades because Percy knows some of his secrets and he owes Percy for everything he did for his children; Poseidon cause he is trying to be a better father and mend his relationship with Percy, Zeus cause he wants Percy dead so bad; like that so called all powerful God is so fucking hellbent on wanting Percy's demise, so paranoid and afraid of what Percy might do. I swear if Zeus saw half of what Percy did in Tartarus, he would sentence Percy to execution then and there and the war it would cause. I honestly want to see that happen just for the sake of it.

I like to imagine that Hades is real nice to Jason, yknow? Partly out of spite cuz he doesn't like Percy and partly to genuinely show he appreciates how well he treats Nico and looks after him. And I think that would make for some hilarious conversation like Jason goes "Yeah Hades is pretty neat I had to pop around a cemetery for a quest and he showed up out of nowhere, said he was just passing through, ended up helping me out and even bought me lunch" while Percy is just "he threw me in a dungeon once". ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I mean we know Hades picks favorites and is capable of learning to be a better father/uncle sooooo.

Nico: Hey can I invite Will to our scheduled dinner next week?

Hades: I'm sure we can find an extra seat for him.

Nico: Can I also bring Meg?

Hades: Demeter would enjoy seeing her daughter.

Nico: Can I bring Jason?

Hades: Of course you can bring Jason.

Nico: Can I bring Per—

Hades: No.

I hate the way the Greek campers were viewed in hoo like these literal kids who made up a grand total of 40 (maybe 100 max with hunters + party ponies + satyrs) defeated an army that consisted of hundreds possibly thousands of monsters on their own including a couple of rouge titans and Kronos who was their leader. And won. Don’t get me wrong the Romans destroyed the Palace and all which was probably filled with their remaining resources but there were hundreds of them including adults who had retired after a decade of experience. And the army they fought was probably smaller cause everyone was off at New York in the main fight so give the Greek campers their due respect cause not only did they win, they pulled off the impossible
