Hello, I am Mahasen,a Digital Artist from North Gaza, where creativity thrives despite challenges. My father passed away, making me the main provider for my family.
Before the war, I worked in motion graphics with international companies, specializing in character design and storyboarding.
The conflict forced us to evacuate repeatedly, and our home was damaged. My essential art equipment and tablet were stolen and destroyed, representing years of hard work and creativity. Now, we are homeless, unsafe, sick, and financially insecure.
Our family includes:
My mother, 62.
My sister Mai, 35, visually impaired.
Myself, Mahasen, 31.
My brother Mohammed, 28, visually impaired, and his wife Iman, 28.
My youngest brother Amin, 21.
Your support is crucial to help me rebuild and ensure my family's safety and survival. Your contribution will replace my tools and restore our hope and creativity.

When sorrow and difficulties strike hard, hope becomes the lone star in the dark sky. This is the story of Amira, a 23-year-old girl who found herself bearing the burden of her family after her father's death three years ago due to the coronavirus.
After my father's passing, I found myself taking care of my family, consisting of my mother, sister Noor, and brother Abdulrahman. My mother, suffering from high blood pressure and diabetes, faces health problems that further complicate their situation. But courage and determination drive Amira forward.
I worked as a teaching assistant at the university while pursuing a master's degree in data science, and also worked as a programmer in a company. My life was going smoothly until war came and destroyed everything.
My university, workplace, and home were completely destroyed, forcing them to flee south in search of a safe haven. Now, I and my family live in tents for displaced people in Deir al-Balah, where they suffer from water shortages and the spread of diseases, posing an additional challenge, especially for my immunocompromised mother.
Speak to older ppl and u will learn things that would’ve taken u 5 years to figure out by yourself. Building friendships with older people is the best thing I ever did. Someone tenderly telling u how to navigate the world is a beautiful thing. This post was inspired by a new chatbot created by scientists that stimulates an older version of u and shares its pearls of wisdom. Young people should talk and consciously listen 2 older people so they can navigate this world w a little more ease. As if artificial intelligence can educate the next generation. Nothing better than a convo w someone over a cup of tea.
a celebratory drawing for getting my claudette to p100! ❤️

(full official request by HRC president Kelley Robinson)
this request is also being backed by Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-N.Y.), and Nex's death has been acknowledged by Kamala Harris on Twitter
I really, really hope that these increasingly public calls for justice in Nex Benedict's assault and death lead to more action... this tragedy has finally recieved coverage in publications like USA Today, CNN, NBC, and even The New York Times
keep talking about this, please!!
