Originally I wanted to manually create/CAD/sculpt my own articulated finger extensions, but I had the self awareness to figure out that that was beyond my skill level. Also there's so many CAD models of these online it was a bit too easy. I still want to make my own version of these someday, but 2021 was not the time π
OH yeah even before that I didn't just want to make finger extensions, I wanted to make a wooden arm and hand that hand moveable fingers. Inspired by smth similar I saw on yt. I think I was deterred from this option because of how difficult it would've been to carve the wood.
I got the CAD models for free on thingyverse β€οΈ. At first I tried 3D printing these on my 3D printer, but I didn't know how to adjust the settings to have a print actually work (pieces would always peel up from the build plate) so I eventually outsourced it to my auto teacher lmao.
Assembling these was a trip, but we made it through >:) πͺ
Didn't end up ever painting these guys, so they just existed as uglies.

I don't remember painting this at all, really. Just vague impressions. I actually like the painting, but ig I didn't like it back then cos I put that huge tear in the middle.
Idky I took the canvas off of its wooden skeleton for this painting.

Another glitch effect painting. Had a lot of fun with this one. Started it over the summer but didn't end up finishing it until school had started.
Got permission to use this as a submission for one of my art intro assignments. Don't remember what the prompt was.
December 31, 2024 Acrylic on canvas
Finally finished this painting!! Hey, got it done before 2025 at the very least π
Only took about 30 minutes to finish it up because it was just cleanup and painting the edges.
Moniker for this painting went from "coloured puke" to "seven" because when asking my family what the meaning behind this painting was we realized that there are seven characters here, which could be indicative of the seven deadly sins. Ofc that was unintentional, but was a cool coincidence.
Non-unanimously, the sins were identified as:
Pride - Green / ???
Wrath - Orange
Lust - Red
Gluttony - Yellow
Envy - Green / Pink
Greed - ???
Sloth - Purple
The blue guy didn't really fit any of them π
I asked my family what they thought the meaning of this one because they'd incessantly bugged me about what the meaning behind another painting I was working on was.
Still need to varnish it, but I'll get to that later

This was inspired by those galaxy painting things that spray paint artists do. As well as techniques of loading the brush with different coloured paints to get smooth gradient brushstrokes for the ground.

Edited on 10/14/2024 to add some detail/gradients since the design was a tad too simple beforehand.
Shout out to my friend who pointed out that blud looked like a baby which made me realise i completely forgor his facial hair.
Yeah uh sorry for the annoying ass watermarks. ik that it decreases viewer engagement, but isn't that a double whammy if you don't include a watermark? More people see it and it's more stealable.
2016 / 2017
Little painting I did of my festive street way back when.
Was only able to make the post for this painting recently because it was stashed with the rest of our christmas stuff - completely forgot about it when I was collecting the other paintings to start this archive π

IbisPaintX + Movavi
Wanted to do the thing where I see how much my style is influenced by what brush I use. Was fun! There were a few others that I halfway finished, but I like this lineup of four that I got done. Cool to see how different they are. Airbrush supremacy tho πͺπͺπͺ
Used a ref from pinterest for this one (now I'm a certified real artist π)
Used movavi to create the gif so that it wouldn't have the huge ibispaint logo on it
2017
Multi-canvas painting I did. I don't know what gave me this idea, but it was crazy. Can't believe I made this back in 2017.
Made spacers out of foam boards from the dollar store so that the canvases would be held in the final configuration during painting.
Bought my first ever non dollar store paint from DeSerres for this project. Still have quite a few colours (namely the red π)
Shout out to my father for making the frames βΌοΈβΌοΈ

Grade 5 - 2015/2016
Wait this was supposed to be the first post??? I didn't get around to cleaning it up until ~3 weeks after I'd queued up all of the tumblr posts π
Ig I'll see how making the post date in the past works >:)
Anyways what I can remember of the prompt was that we were supposed to make masks that represent a specific emotion. We were in pairs and I did it with my friend.
Making it out of wood was not a requirement, but I'd gotten it in my head and I knew my dad wld be able to cut the wood for me πI made a paper mockup, and then my dad took care of cutting and gluing together the pieces. Two masks were made, one for my friend and one for me.
iirc, the emotion I was going for was happiness, but it really doesn't read that way. There used to be paper fluff stuff hanging from the back, but the birds ate that stuff up. They also bit a whole bunch of chunks into it π
I don't remember what happened for it to break that badly. Prolly fell
