Chris thinking that Jon’s accent was “…kind of amusing, but charming…” and he thought that he was “fascinating” makes me think. They even wrote songs at Chris’s flat the day after they just met, plus the first song they wrote together was Sweetness too hmmmmmm…
Jon on how the concept of Close to the Edge came about.
"I had a dream about two or three years ago. I dreamed I was walking down this road carrying an amplifier. I stepped into some quicksand and I started to sink. I didn't scream out, because there was nobody about. I died, and I finished up on this hill, and this old man had his arm around my shoulder and was pointing. At the end of his hand was my life all spread out. I laughed and said 'Oh, that's what it's all about.' It was incredible." - Jon Anderson

"I always try to be interested in what I'm doing, because it's the only way I'll put everything I have into it. I know I'm still learning. I can look back on what I did three years ago and think, 'Well, I wouldn't do that now, because I know how to improve it and make it more positive.' It all comes down to being open to change and not being so completely satisfied with what you've done that you stop growing. If you feel that you've got something going for yourself, Keep working at it, even if people tell you it's too complicated-or too simple." - Chris Squire
