The rising storm
And the tumultuous sea
Of gray and green
Cannot be mightier
Than our love
And the sun
Have you ever stopped to understand words?
There is so much that is beautiful about language. In every piece of writing, there is emotion. There is nothing more human than the love, hate, greed, forgiveness, sadness, and joy that is in every word you read. We can therefore know that words are in fact beautiful, not just becuause of their own complexity, but also because of the complexity of human nature which they express
The words rattle
In my mind
Like chains
But somehow
They are
Freeing.
They sing a
Silent song
To me
Like whispers in
The autumn
And they are
More beautiful
Than the words
Could ever say
Its 6:00 in the morning
I'd rather be in bed
Sleeping, waiting
Hibernating
For another day
Instead
"You cant have it all," they say
And that, for me, is fine
I don't need everything
Just enough to get by
I don't want a mansion,
Or love, or wealth
I just want to know
How to love myself
The crow caws once.
A shiver down my spine
I wanted nothing more than to preserve what was mine.
The crow caws again.
Another eerie cry
I tried to fight fate, but you cant win with a lie.
The crow caws once more
A body in the ground
No headstone to mark, only soil in a mound.
The crow falls silent.
The empty only grows
The last attempt to hide my sins, causes them to show.
And in that moment
I finally understood
What it meant to feel
Breathless
We walked in the garden
Of love in my heart
Where everything should be
Wilting
But the damn flowers
Refuse to die
I heard the whispers of gold
That rode on the breath of dawn
They were quiet
With their tickling breath
As i was sobered by the sun
An icy, hollow bed
Where i lay down to sleep
A coffin as the bedframe
And earth as my sheets
My brother says goodnight to me
My father tucks me in
My mother sings a lullaby
About things that could have been
The world has never looked so gray
Or that is how is seems
As mother whispers in my ear
"Goodnight," she cries, "sweet dreams."
Revelation rides the wind
Like foam upon the waves
And I long to hear
What it has to say
But fear it meaning
The end of us
