Growing Up Fat, You Get Made Fun Of For Everything You Do, Even Basic Shit Like Eating And Laughing And

Growing up fat, you get made fun of for everything you do, even basic shit like eating and laughing and breathing are funny when you do it because youre fat! And its so hard to not carry that with you as you get older, like I’m still embarassed to eat or dance in front of people or smile in pictures and its ridiculous and I hate it and I wish I was treated with more humanity

one of the most influential things i’ve learned in dbt is to change “but” into “and.” so instead of saying, “i know you feel that way, but i feel this way,” try saying, “i know you feel that way, and i feel this way.” by doing that, you are validating the other person’s opinions and emotions as well as viewing them as an equal.

BTD/TDDUP:  Who’s the most dangerous human character?

There is a counterpart post to this for the supernatural BTD characters already posted here if you want to check that out :P

I love the human characters in the BTD/TDDUP series.  Probably a little more than the supernatural characters to be honest.  When it comes to who I think is the most dangerous in regards to the public/humanity, I had to put quite a bit of thought into this.  I don’t really have a ranking system for these, but the main things I thought about were body count, level of sadism, and physique/intellect.

 I’m also going to be thinking about the difference here between who is actively the most dangerous vs. others who are potentially more dangerous.  But the real rating will be based on who’s “actively” more dangerous.

Side effects of Eating Disorders

Okay, so- I’m making this post because there’s some, or even a lot of side effects on this list that some people who struggle with ED’s don’t know about. Of course, not all of these will apply to everyone. When I first developed mine in 7th grade (so long ago now, haha) I was shocked when my therapist told me some side effects, so I’d share them with you so you all know you aren’t going crazy!

•Rapid weight loss or weight gain (obviously)

•Dislike for the taste of food

•Urge to vomit (even if you aren’t bulimic)

•Hair thinning/hair loss

•Frequent hiccups

•Body Dysmorphia

•Feeling cold

•Dry skin

•Bingeing

•Pale/yellow skin

•Purple nails or lips

•Puffy eyes

•Easily angered or irritable

•Dizziness

•Fatigue

•Constipation

•A change in menstrual cycles

•Depression

•Bursts of energy

•Fine body hair, similar to peach fuzz

•Acne

•Apathy/ not enjoying things you once loved

•Overexercizing/ constant need to exercize

•Inability to eat normal amounts (typically after you’ve had your ED for a while)

•Headaches and/or migraines

•Bad breath

•Eroding teeth

•Acid reflux

•Only able to really eat organic/health foods without guilt

•Erectile Dysfunctions

•Trembling/ shivering (without being necessarily cold)

• Dehydration

• Frequent need to pee

Feel free to add more! Help our community know what to possibly expect if they’re new, or to ease the minds of long term folk.

I need to get out of this binge mindset fast. I'm currently off school for the week and usually I use that as excuse to pig out because "I need to eat because my parents will get suspicious". Well, not this time. I've been regularly binging for most of February and I'm doing a hard reset to get out of it.

What that means;

No weighing myself for three days. Every time I do a hard reset I refuse to weigh myself because it only makes it worse. Whether those numbers are good or bad I will somehow find a way to use it as an excuse to binge so really it's easier to hold off.

No snacks. I'm gonna engage every coping mechanism I can and go cold turkey on snacks for this week.

No chocolate bars/ice cream/dessert. I've done this before and it went fine so I can do it again.

No eating at all unless I have to. If my parents are forcing me to stay down and have dinner with them then fine, but when I'm home alone and suddenly decide I should make a sandwich and brownies and whatever fucking else, I need to stop myself.

Slowly start exercising again. If I'm fasting a lot I don't have to do much but I need to get back into a sustainable routine, which means at least 10 minutes a day.

NO LIQUID CALORIES. That means coffee with sugar, hot chocolate and alcohol. If I do I'll be consuming liquid calories (since I know I'm going out to a party where there will be drinks and I refuse to be left out) I won't eat all morning and will have only light snacks at night to stop me from getting sick.

Stay busy!! I've been spending a lot of time lying on my bed watch It's always sunny on Netflix. Instead I'll put my tablet where I can see it or cast it to my TV and watch it while cleaning my room. It burns calories and stops me from thinking about food.

Set up some sort of skin care routine cause my acne hasn't been this bad since I was 14 and I need to get it under control. This one isn't really ed related but I think my acne is partially caused by all the shit I've been eating, plus self care helps me stay on track.

Set up my plan for March. Yeah every month I go "this is gonna be my month" and it never is but I really think March will be different because I'm gonna set up a concrete plan. Rather than just going "urgh I won't binge this month" or "I'll start exercising this month" I'm actively writing down safe food lists, coping mechanisms to stop me binging, my favourite quick workouts, motivational messages, ANYTHING I can that will help me. I'm gonna do that 30 day thinspo challenge. I'm gonna set reminders to update my journals. I'm gonna get myself back together. Around march time last year was when I first got into this mess and when I first started dropping weight. So this March, I'm getting back into it. I'm fixing this mess.

These are just my rules for the next 5-7 days while I try and get myself back together. Of course some stuff like my skin care and exercise will stick but once I get back to school the eating rules will have to change and of course I've gotta start weighing again eventually cause my body dismorphia means I can see NO progress by looking in a mirror so matter how many times my mum says my weight loss is obvious. But following these should help me fix myself up for the rest of February. And I don't expect March to go smoothly either; like I said, I think every month will be "my month" and it's not. But if March can be just a bit better than February and April can be a bit better than that, then in a couple months I'll be back to smooth sailing. By next year I'll have made real progress.

Fighting Consumerism in Magic

aka, little things to distance your craft from capitalism

Fighting Consumerism In Magic

Let’s all just admit that buying stuff is fun. That said, there’s a big issue of consumerism within the witchy/pagan scene. As magic work and the pagan “aesthetic” becomes more of a commodity in the mainstream, there’s a mounting attitude of needing All The Items in the highest quality (even if we’re not certain we’ll use them,) and big corporations mass-producing cheap stuff to make a buck off of a growing trend. Here’s some things you can do to help detach your practice from that and support other people in the craft:

Go outside. Check your backyard or local park for local plant life, waters, roots, etc. If your work involves things from nature at all, you can probably find a lot of your supplies… in nature. It takes a little more time, but it’s free and then you’ve gathered stuff yourself!

Make stuff. This one is pretty straightforward. There may be key items to your practice that you can make yourself instead of buying it! That said, I know sometimes spending money is inevitable so I won’t dwell too much on this… let’s talk more about shopping:

Shop mindfully. The price of a lot of items will skyrocket once it has a pentacle or other symbol engraved on it. For example, little mortars and pestles can be very pricey in witchy shops, but you could probably get a bigger one that’s actually food safe for less at a nice grocery store. Antique stores and international markets are now your new best friends.

Support small businesses! Things are cheaper on Amazon, but the extra money goes to support real people, likely other practitioners. If you can, supporting small, local, independent shopkeepers and crafters does a ton of good. It also helps build and sustain a local community.

Shop based on need. Don’t get something “just in case” (unless it’s banishing or hex breaking stuff; those are decent to have on hand.) It’s tempting to impulse-buy a ton of niche items and ingredients, but unless you have a reasonable idea what you’re going to use them for in the near future, it’ll probably just create clutter for you to deal with later.

Prioritize effectiveness over aesthetic. Ultimately your practice has to work for you, not just look good. I think making your work aesthetically pleasing to yourself can be an important part of really connecting with what you’re doing, but don’t make that desire burn a hole in your wallet and distract you from what brought you to this path in the first place. Altar envy is a real thing.

Recycle/Upcycle. Use old clothing fabric for an altar cloth. That old trinket dish makes a great offering dish. Enchant jewelry you already own. That jar of strawberry jelly you just finished off will work just fine for that spell. Things can be re-purposed and made into new things.

Analyze your offerings. Special occasion wine isn’t a special occasion if you do it every time. Not every offering needs to be a grand gesture, regular maintenance is more important generally.

Organize trades. Have any pals that also practice? See if you can help each other! You could trade different goods (that old mini cauldron you bought and never used for that abandoned tarot deck, maybe?) but also services. A protection spell for a luck charm. A reading for a reading. You help them with the laundry and they cook you a meal one day.

As always, the goal is to foster a local community of individuals doing honest work, and shedding the consumerist mindset society taught us to make us spend more money. Take up the idea that you can do magic completely on your own with what you already around you, and if you do want to spend money, see if you can do it in a way that helps the world a tiny bit.  :)

Nothing Fancy Here, It’s Just Some Sketches. Funfact, The Ennard Sketch Is Based Off Of A Personal

Nothing fancy here, it’s just some sketches. Funfact, the Ennard sketch is based off of a personal headcannon of mine. It’s from the fake Sister Location ending (the one with Ennard coming toward you as you watch The Immortal and the Restless). My headcannon is that during the fake ending, Michael took pity on Ennard and he took him, the Minireena’s and even the Bidybabs home. He fixed Ennard up as best as he could and Michael helped him and the Bidy’s/Mini’s find a place to live at a burger joint that was looking for a way to entertain it’s costumers like Freddy’s but couldn’t afford to pay or rent out animatronics.

The crying child picture is based on this one be Doloresman: https://uhoh-howunfortunate.tumblr.com/post/187653539253/doloresman-sketching-because-im-stressing

THE BARE BASICS

THE BARE BASICS

1. CLEANSING

This step can literally make or break your routine tbh, if you get a cleanser that’s too drying, it will cause major damage to your skin. Your skin has a pH of 4.5-5.5 and most of the popular cleansers recommended on skincare threads you might see on say twitter etc such as Castile soap is actually too alkalic for your skin! It strips your skin of moisture and leaves it super dry. I know most of y'all love that squeaky clean feeling these kind of cleansers give your skin but that’s not necessarily the case. (side note: if you use makeup I’d highly recommend double cleansing where you remove your makeup with an oil based cleanser followed by washing your face with a water based cleanser)

Some good oil based cleansers ;

Neutrogena ultra light cleansing oil

Tatcha one step Camellia cleansing oil

Banila Co clean it zero

Heimish all clean balm

The Face Shop rice water bright rich cleansing oil

DHC deep cleansing oil

Low pH water based cleansers;

Cosrx low pH good morning gel cleanser

SebaMed clear face foaming cleanser

CeraVe foaming facial cleanser

Su:m37 miracle rose cleansing stick

Cleaning waters (optional, can be used to remove residue of dirt and debris after cleansing and also as a quick cleanse if you’re in a rush) ;

Bioderma hydrabio H2O micelle solution

Thayers witch hazel (alcohol free version )

Caudalie micellar cleansing water

Garnier skin micellar cleansing water

2. MOISTURIZING

Moisturizing is a crucial step in skincare (yes, even for oily skin!) to help keep your your skin youthful and it hold water in the outermost layer of your skin to act as a barrier. It protects your skin and helps improve texture. Studies have shown that people who moisturize their skin accumulate wrinkles at just a fraction of the rate of their dry skin counterparts.

Moisturizers for oily skin;

Keihl’s ultra facial oil free gel cream

The Ordinary moisturizing factors + HA (tbh good for combo/normal skin too)

Cosrx oil free ultra moisturizing lotion

La Roche-Posay tolerian ultra Soin de Nuit

Pure aloe vera gel

Moisturizers for dry skin;

Dr. Jart+ ceramidin cream

Belif the true cream-moisturizing bomb

Benton snail bee high content steam cream

Clinique moisture surge intense

Moisturizers for combination skin;

LA Roche-Posay Toleriane double repair moisturizer UV

Neutrogena naturals multivitamin nourishing moisturizer

Belif the true cream-moisturizing bomb

Paula’s Choice SKIN BALANCING invisible finish moisture gel moisturizer

3. SUNSCREEN

Do I really need to explain why this is super important? If you’re not wearing sunscreen, especially if you’re outdoors (side note: please reapply every two hours), you’re more prone to forming age spots, wrinkles, blemishes and we’ll ask hyperpigmentation meaning this can also cause any acne scarring etc you might have to get darker, making it harder to get rid of.

Sunscreen recs for oily skin;

Julep no excuses invisible sunscreen gel spf 40

Clinique super city block ultra protection spf 40

La Roche-Posay anthelion clear skin face sunscreen for oily skin spf 60

Etude House sunprise mild airy finish spf 50

Australian Gold Botanical spf 50 sunscreen

Sunscreen recs for dry skin;

Lakme Sun Expert with Spf 30

L'Oreal Age Perfect Facial Oil SPF 30

CeraVe Skin Renewing Day Cream spf 30

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer With SPF 30

Sunscreens recs for combination skin;

Suntegrity 5-in-1 sunscreen spf 30

Perricone MD photo plasma moisturizer broad spectrum spf 30

Kate Somerville daily deflector moisturizer spf 50

THAT’S ALL FOR THIS POST! I’LL BE MAKING ANOTHER SEPARATE POST ON TOPICAL SUPPLEMENTS FOR INDIVIDUAL SKIN NEEDS. HOPE Y'ALL LEARN A THING OR TWO FROM THIS POST AND FEEL FREE TO SEND ME AN ASK IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ♡

(side note: as a POC myself, I am aware of the whitecast most sunscreens leave but I couldn’t reccomend many that don’t since I have yet to properly research good products in that category. I will do my homework on this and make a separate post on that for you guys)
