Hello,,
My name is Malak, I am 18 years old, and I am a medical student. My dream has always been to complete my education and travel abroad to achieve my aspirations. However, the war has destroyed our lives and halted my educational journey. My family and I live in Tal Alhawa, Gaza, and we once had a happy life and a beautiful home.
My little brothers, my support and my beloved ones: Moataz, Moatasem & Fadel.
My dad is Abdelhamid Dader, who used to work at a water station, and my mother is Mona Alanqar. I have siblings named Shahd, Moataz, Moatasem, and Fadel.
Moataz was killed in cold blood. He was a lifeline and a beating heart..
Our house was burned and destroyed, forcing us to move 20 times in different areas in northern Gaza. My father was injured and couldn't receive the necessary treatment due to a lack of medical supplies and the difficulty of travel. My 15-year-old brother Moataz was killed :( by a missile while trying to fetch water, and my younger brother was injured in the same incident and also couldn’t get proper medical care.
Beautiful memories gathered here..
This is what our house has turned into in this nightmare that we are still living.
My father's job ended because of the war and his injury, and his workplace was destroyed. We spent all our savings, and now we cannot provide the basics of life as famine chases us in the north. My mother and younger brother contracted hepatitis due to pollution, poor nutrition, and lack of healthcare. We all suffer from fainting and loss of consciousness due to these diseases and malnutrition.
Part of the life I had in Faculty of Medicine..
Moments of joy in excelling in success and obtaining a 99% average in high school.
Now, we are fighting for a space to sleep among the rubble, and fighting to get water and food.
I appeal to your kind hearts to help me and my family survive this tragedy. My dream is to complete my education abroad, get the necessary treatment for my family, and live a dignified life like other human beings.
Your donation, no matter how small, can change our lives and give us hope for a brighter future. This can help cover the costs of treatment and travel.
Share our story with your friends and family to raise awareness and support.
Pray to God to admit you to Paradise and compensate us with great goodness.. RIP
Your words and prayers give us the strength to endure these difficult circumstances.
Thank you to everyone who stands with us in this hardship. Together, we can make a difference.
Malak and Her Family
Sincerely,
Malak and Her Family

I would love you as if you were my own, My own to love, and my own to mourn, I would card my fingers through the tidal curls, And sweep past all the dirt crumbs you had, Because you rolled in damp swamp grass.
I would protect you, from anyone else who dare harm you, Even if you are a fighter and I, a writer, You seem to need me so I will guide you so, Little soldier, you should've stayed a child for a little while longer, It was not your time to see piercing spears and impaling blades on a blood strewn battlefield, Young minds are not meant to don old armor, But why, oh why in my naivete did I lead you here?
Please don't follow me, not anymore, I have no trust in myself to hold your guiding torch, I might burn you with a single blind swing, Just as I had all that long ago when I singed my own wings, I have a lot to say, but too little courage to tell; Apologies are on the tip of my tongue, but they can't seem to spill.
Little child I love like my own, If you were to forgive the one who raised you, Would they not hurt you anymore?
I will give you every reason I could think of, so you would let go, I'm afraid if you stay by my side for longer than you need to, I'd harm you just like all those years ago, I never lay a hand against you, but I broke that porcelain pedestal, And the shards of porcelain left bleeding cuts I could not mend.
I'm sorry, my dear, I wish you the best.
my friends yousef and mona are trying to survive a very dangerous situation... it's hard to focus on fundraising when you are worried more about surviving bombings. they do still need funds. it is getting harder and harder to afford basic needs for both themselves and their baby alaa. i haven't heard any good news about mona's lungs (they were damaged in a previous bombing), so i assume they're as bad as ever. she's told me it's very painful. she can't rest because she spends her nights coughing violently instead. if you can help them at all, here is the link to their fundraiser. since they are fundraising in swedish krona, smaller donations are accepted. anything will help at least a little, but please be aware 10 kr is 94 cents in usd. if you can't donate, please share the post. you have a helpful role.

When gas disappears… we invent fire.
In Gaza, where war stole everything from us — even our gas cylinders — we refused to freeze or give up.
With nothing but scrap metal, old car oil, and computer fans, people here built handmade burners to cook, boil water, and survive.
We turned trash into life. We turned despair into invention. This is how we fight for existence every single day.
We don't just survive — we create.🔥🛠️💔

As for me… I’m Kareman, a mother in Gaza.
I’m doing my best to protect and care for my son, Hammoud, in the middle of this war.
Thanks to a kind friend’s donation, I was able to bring a little light into my child’s life — food, warmth, and a smile.
The photo below is my son smiling next to the food we managed to buy.
That smile is a rare treasure in the middle of fear, displacement, and hunger.😭🫶❤️
If you’re reading this, please… don’t let this be the last smile I see on his face.🙏

Very often I see Black Palestinians relegated to a hypothetical or used for rhetorical arguments. They are real human beings, a real community within our larger Palestinian community. They deserve respect, recognition, and assistance.
Friend's Soul, Foe's Cage
Famished friend,
I haven't seen you in many moons,
Starved soul,
You haven't sent me any feathers
For the pillow 'neath my bed,
Hungry foe,
You've stabbed me through my only cavity,
Impaled my tongue, pulled my teeth,
I have no words in your world,
Not because I am speechless,
But because I am caged.
