THAT. That is goddamn good to have such freedom!! And this is a realistic approach too...ofc with time the forgiveness can be brought up, but to switch on it so fast for the ++ in relationship stat? Mehhh. THANK YOU FOR NOT PUNISHING US ANGSTERMANCESš©ā¤ļøā¤ļø
In relation to your last ask; Iām a big believer that you do not have to forgive a person just because you love them, so Iām glad that isnāt going to lock one out of a romance with C. Sure, itāll be āangstyā compared to forgiveness but that shouldnāt be required of a person who was hurt just because they love someone, and Iām excited to explore that detail more in your game personally
Yes yes yes! Everything you've just said is exactly how I feel about it Anon. I'm so glad you're resonating with this. In my experience, not everyone deserves forgiveness and not everything can be forgiven. That doesn't mean you love that person any less, but it means they hurt you in a way you can't forgive. It'll make some scenes more angsty but in the end, it's up to the player how they deal with it all! I never wanted to take that choice away from yall because I hate when I get railroaded into a certain 'good' path in romances even if its OOC for my MC.
So total freedom in all the romances (I mean, as much as coding and the workload will allow me but mostly as much as possible). This game will definitely be a place to explore darker themes and unhealthy sides of love too (not necessarily in C's route). I'm just so excited to let you guys loose in Ferngrove and do as you please.

I'm a little confused but what are the three timelines?
A good question- it can seem a bit confusing at first, and my wording often does not help things.
Anyways, Event Horizon is one main overarching story, about the crew of a spaceship and their mission. The general events of the story, and all major choices are going to happen, regardless of timeline.Ā
So that brings up the question of just what the three timelines are. Essentially, there are two points ofĀ ādivergenceā where your choices will have a significant outcome on how the story is conducted. Certain options at these divergence points have an irreversible effect, and thus, change the timeline.
The points of divergence are in remembering your identity and upon meeting the captain for the first time.Ā
Timeline 1 is theĀ ānormalā timeline, and involves your character remembering who they are, and being non-aggressive to the captain. Over time, you become more and more aware of some of the underlying plots and the issues they cause, but your interaction with them is less direct.
Ā This is how the game is pretty much meant to be played, and how I recommend your first playthrough to go.
Timeline 2 is theĀ āAnomalyā timeline, and involves your character remembering who they are, and being aggressive towards the captain. A bad decision on both parties end.You might have survived the encounter, but the fabric of reality ripples around you, and thereās glimpses of what is to come. Thereās something... else... going on here. And now youāre caught up in it.
This serves as kind of a happy medium between Timelines 1 and 3, incorporating some of the more surreal elements of Timeline 3 with the general flow of Timeline 1.
Timeline 3 is theĀ āAmnesiacā timeline, and involves your character not knowing their identity. Reality is shattered around you, as matter and time bend to your will. The past lives in you as readily as the present. You know the captain. You know the first officer. You know what happened- and whatās going to happen. You cannot change or recall your past, but you can irrevocably change the future.
This is pretty much a break from reality in every way. Voices in your head, brutal flashbacks, complicated relationships with your former comrades and reality itself, playing god, mysterious powers, and a lot of fire. If you wanted to get really, really, really uptight about how the worldbuilding sets up the events of Event Horizon, this should be simultaneously the most and least canon sequence of events.

[ Fernweh Saga is a character driven, romance focused interactive fiction with slow-build horror elements that unravel as you move deeper into the plot.]
~Some homecomings feel more like rude awakenings, but this one will become a waking nightmareā¦~
You return to the small town of Fernweh after the death of your grandfather, which is ironic because you were explicitly sent away from the town by him following the tragic death of your parents in a house fire. Itās been several years since you left. Returning isnāt something that you had considered, but the vague letter you received about tying up loose ends was on fancy stationary and looked official enough.
What was supposed to be a quick trip to collect personal belongings and sign some legal documents soon spirals into a grim mystery when you learn of the odd circumstances surrounding your grandfatherās death and start experiencing vivid nightmares.
Familiar faces are all around; you know some of them as former childhood friends, rivals, or neighbors, but they may become current allies as you all try to unravel what exactly is going on in this small, seemingly idyllic, forested town.
A feeling of unease grows with each sleepless night spent within Fernwehās borders, but you canāt leave yetā¦
It wonāt let you.
Play as a man, woman, or non-binary person with the ability to customize your sexuality, fashion style, physical features, room theme, etc.
Allow your personality, habits, decisions, and relationships to influence how you face-off against what lurks within Fernweh like in a horror film/book.
Experience different types of romantic burns and tropes (rivals to lovers, friends to lovers, unrequited love (or is it), no strings attached, and more) alongside different types of horror (dread, cosmic, supernatural, survival, and more) as you progress through the series.
Develop āsomethingā (the choice is yours) with the 4 romance options; there are 5 romance routes that are fully integrated into the plot.
Create friendships and relationships with the main cast of characters that are tracked by different point systems.
Understand your past, your parentsā death, and what really happened to not only your family, but to you.
Add to (or take away from) an inventory system that will impact/unlock certain choices later in the game. Clues, weapons, odd items, etc.
Discover that there are more than just small town politics at play; factions will remember how you treat them and may help or hurt you in the future books. (Book 1 is about hints/discovery, while we learn more in Book 2.)
Fight, resist, flee, struggle, or adapt to face whatever is invading your nightmares and the town; there is more to it than a boring oleā monsterā¦Much more.Ā

I'm having a hard time finding the list of ROs š who are the ROs besides R?
oh hey!! no problemo! maybe i should edit the pinned post to have a short description of each one? i'll write one up here and add it afterwards!
ROs in a nutshell:
r - a kind, peaceful fisherman/woman that just wants a good and quiet life for their loved ones (see more here)
i (or il) - a glib-tongued and charming merchant that holds an intense hatred for magicians (see more here)
n - a grumpy, lone wolf magician that doubles as a key figurehead among the rebels
a - a duty-bound yet idealistic noble that's part of the Holy Order, assigned to hunt down and capture magicians
thank you for the ask! :D
Sabina + MC + Elli? Wholesome. Heartwarming. My wig is snitched and skin is hydrated
BUT ??? + MC + HENRICK? THE CHAOS? THE INTENSITY? the sitcom AU vibes???
Hello dear author! Now that the possibility of poly was mentioned, may I ask of you to share some little bits of those ideas on this topic so far, if it's not troublesome? šššš
ššš Hello dear! Well I can share some things that I'm thinking...
Well, the first one for sure is Sabina + Mc + Eli
I can see it working really well once the "hurts" start to get over and they could all live happily like this š (I can see Sabina's false complaints about having to worry about two magicians!) That would be so intense and sweet š„ŗ
??? + Mc + Henrick
Because it would be so much fun 𤣠let's be honest here..this is not going to work ... but what if it works? Have you ever imagined this ?!
