Can you tell us more about the magic skills? Like infliction, transmania etc
Hooo okay, so I sat on this one for a few days because I wanted to decide if I wanted to bring this up before it comes up in a released form, and ultimately decided sure, though it could be considered spoilers. So that’s warning number one.
Warning number two is that I’m currently working at the alpha level. I’m really trying to emphasize that because certain elements of this list could change when I reach the editing process, or even mid-way through the alpha if I feel like it’s not working well enough. I’ve done a good amount of planning, but this is my first time putting a game together on my own. So. yeah. Keep those things in mind.
On to the fun stuff!
There are two primary trees of magic available to the MC: Blood Magic and Mind Magic. The MC is locked into either one of these trees or the other based on their choices in the first chapter, though they may be able to train up skills on the other tree later down the road.
Blood Magic includes three major skills:
Healing, which should be sort of self explanatory I think
Infliction, which is the flip side of healing, and may verge into full-blown necromancy. This school is primary concerned with encouraging disease and rot to inflict damage.
Transanima, which is the ability to transform themselves (or parts of themselves) and other living creatures into other living creatures. The ability cannot cross realms (a squirrel cannot become a Brownie, for example) but within the bounds of their realm a creature can become anything if enough power is used (a squirrel CAN become an elephant if you try hard enough.) Transformations come with varying levels of permanency.
Mind Magic includes three major skills:
Evocation, which is concerned with manipulating the cardinal elements for one’s own benefit. Fireballs, water bending, etc. all fall into this category.
Illusion, which is concerned with casting both complete fabrications and changing the appearance (though not the physicality) of objects on people.
Conjuration, which could also be termed “summoning.” This ability allows you to pull non-hostile, non-sentient Fae of a range of sizes through the veil to aid you.
There are also three other skills available to the MC of either tree:
Alchemy, which is essentially what River is doing in chapter Two with the spray bottle and bracelets. IE, using a mixture of physical ingredients and primary rules like Affinity to create tools.
Telekinesis, which is the ability to move objects around you by creating invisible gravity wells and forces.
Empathy, which in the MC will manifest only as the ability to push their emotions upon others. So Pushing empathy, but not receptive empathy.

Thank you for giving me ideas for the next ask in ur tags 😊
ok- ok- bUT what if the roles were reversed? Huh? The heir is RO, but their personality is still the same. Whether or not such ROs would fall in love with MC?👁️👁️ (especially in X's route...)
Aand because I'm infuriatingly spamming the inbox, - what would happen if, while doing the bed-tango, someone walks in on RO and MC?👁️👁️
hubby i'm afraid to ask but WHAt is the bed-tango
and about the roles switch KJDKJK i guess it depends
X likes flirting with their archnemesis because they're on the bad side, but would they do the same if it was the opposite? (yes
W would go even more professional KJDKKM one thing is the heir fliting with the squire, another is the squire flirting with the heir
R would most definitely enjoy it KJDKM it would be a way out of all the fanciness
C would probably be a little more scared of relationships since it's a title better than their actual, so scandals would be even harder to control
I'm a little confused but what are the three timelines?
A good question- it can seem a bit confusing at first, and my wording often does not help things.
Anyways, Event Horizon is one main overarching story, about the crew of a spaceship and their mission. The general events of the story, and all major choices are going to happen, regardless of timeline.
So that brings up the question of just what the three timelines are. Essentially, there are two points of “divergence” where your choices will have a significant outcome on how the story is conducted. Certain options at these divergence points have an irreversible effect, and thus, change the timeline.
The points of divergence are in remembering your identity and upon meeting the captain for the first time.
Timeline 1 is the “normal” timeline, and involves your character remembering who they are, and being non-aggressive to the captain. Over time, you become more and more aware of some of the underlying plots and the issues they cause, but your interaction with them is less direct.
This is how the game is pretty much meant to be played, and how I recommend your first playthrough to go.
Timeline 2 is the “Anomaly” timeline, and involves your character remembering who they are, and being aggressive towards the captain. A bad decision on both parties end.You might have survived the encounter, but the fabric of reality ripples around you, and there’s glimpses of what is to come. There’s something... else... going on here. And now you’re caught up in it.
This serves as kind of a happy medium between Timelines 1 and 3, incorporating some of the more surreal elements of Timeline 3 with the general flow of Timeline 1.
Timeline 3 is the “Amnesiac” timeline, and involves your character not knowing their identity. Reality is shattered around you, as matter and time bend to your will. The past lives in you as readily as the present. You know the captain. You know the first officer. You know what happened- and what’s going to happen. You cannot change or recall your past, but you can irrevocably change the future.
This is pretty much a break from reality in every way. Voices in your head, brutal flashbacks, complicated relationships with your former comrades and reality itself, playing god, mysterious powers, and a lot of fire. If you wanted to get really, really, really uptight about how the worldbuilding sets up the events of Event Horizon, this should be simultaneously the most and least canon sequence of events.
Hey hubby!! Jkjk (unless??)
OoOOOoOOh a specific motive you say....hHmMMm, W, what are you hiding i wonder?
R: Cat-person who is weak for puppy-eyes. The irony is not lost on me agsjkaah
C is a gummy bear and I so love it!!!
Omg X's so goofy I can't- pls take my soul and heart little demon 😭
So, we got princess-carry ros one, but whaaat about a reaction to mc puppy eyeing ROs to carry them (mc)? Whether it's piggybacking or princess-style👀👀👀
hey bestie KDJSJK that's a cute one, uhmm let me thinkk
W would laugh gently before reaching for the heir, not minding it at all. there's a specific motive for this one that is actually a little funny but I'm not telling you guys so soon!
R would roll their eyes, asking "are you serious?" but the sight of the puppy eyes would make the half-blood relent with time.
C would ask "are you sure?" before accepting it, with an entertained laugh and blushed cheeks (as always, that's the Heir effect on the elf)
X would go like "thought you would never ask!!" and immediately proceed to grab the Heir! if piggyback, they would pretend to be a violent horse and if princess-carry, they'd hum a wedding song
the interactive fiction community really needs to learn some lessons about respect and boundaries istg.
first y'all complain about characters romancing each other outside of the mc, then you whine about characters sexualities not matching what you wanted, and then some of you have the gall to throw around unwarranted plagiarism accusations toward authors who are offering free demos on behalf of a paid author who's very work is littered with tropes and who didn't do anything truly unique with their own story except build off pre-existing tropes.
now some of you are harassing an author who is trying something new, who just wants to have a little fun with the interactivity part of interactive fiction?
i am begging some of you to please grow up and learn some common sense. don't like the premise of this game? then don't play it. find something else to play and move on. a lot of people on your dash are blogging about it and you don't like that? blacklist the tag or unfollow them!
sending these authors anon hate or whiny, entitled asks trying to guilt them into feeling sorry that they hurt you (newsflash: they didn't!!) by simply telling the story they wanted to tell is not only childish, it's also extremely rude and absolutely unnecessary.
these authors are sharing their work with us, often for free, and no one is forcing anyone to read or play anything. engage with the content you want and ignore the content you don't like, it's not that difficult of a concept to understand.
