Summary: Kazuha decided to end things with the reader when he became a wanted criminal in Inazuma and plan to flee to Liyue, but before he could leave they asked him to stay for the night.

You can almost hear your heart shatter from the words that slip out from KAZUHA'S lips, your body visibly tremble, your eyes wide open, and your mouth agape from disbelief. Years of shared love and trust along with build up memories plays in your mind like a broken film, and as quickly as the memories came, so does it disappears, pulling yourself back to reality.

"Why?" Is the only words that manage to slip out from your lips, it came out like a whisper in the wind, afraid that if you raise your voice any higher it'll crack.

"I do not wish for you to get drag in to my mess any further-"

"Kazuha, I'm your lover-"

"Were" he retorted but paused at the word he uttered, "you were my lover", he continues with a blank expression on his face.

Even when his face lacks emotions, his eyes speaks millions as it stares right to your own and the only word you could describe what it shows is heartache.

"It's the only way I could keep you safe."

You clench at your kimono whilst trying to stop the tears from falling, you drop your head down and gaze at the floor not wanting Kazuha to see your expression right now.

"When are you leaving?"

"Tomorrow at dawn."

"Then, will you stay for the night?"

Kazuha turn to look away, his bangs casting shadows on to his eyes, pressing his lips into a thin line.

"I can't."

"Please..." You plead, feeling desperate for him to stay.

"You can leave in the morning, so please stay for the night."

"Alright..."

And when you woke in the morning he was gone.

⠀✔︎ Zhongli realizes he loves you suddenly, though it’s been mounting for some time in the back of his mind. It hits him on a quiet night, when he’s at the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor signing papers. One moment he hopes that he hasn’t kept you waiting too long, and in the next his thoughts drift to you. Of how peaceful you look asleep, breath coming in steady whispers and brow devoid of furrows and stress. How you instinctively cling to him when he joins you in bed, even unconscious. Zhongli can’t help his smile, nor can he fault the way his chest feels fuller knowing that he has someone to come home to. The realization hits him, though, when he thinks that he wouldn’t mind spending the rest of his life with you in it, and it shakes the immovable geo archon so much that he doesn’t even realize he’s dropped his pen.

⠀✔︎ Diluc doesn’t realize he loves you for a long time–– mainly because he isn’t really familiar with the topic. At first, he finds it strange that his throat tightens up whenever you near him, or that he grows frazzled when you merely bring him a trinket that reminded you of him. He thinks he might be sick at first, and he confuses the hell out of Barbara when he relays his symptoms to her. It takes him having to consult Jean, then Lisa, then taking a good, long time to mull over the fact. His realization hits him fully when he sits near his father’s grave, pensive yet peaceful in the moment. He rambles aloud, as if his father could nod along to every word. He talks about how your eyes glitter when you talk about something you enjoy, about how he itches to hold your hand and wrap you in his coat on colder nights. And when his mouth is dry and he’s exhausted himself, it’s as if he could hear his father’s voice in his mind saying, “You’re in love, son.”

⠀✔︎ Kaeya realizes it relatively quick, but is in denial. He’s observant, so it’s easy for him to catch the way his stare tends to stick on you or how, when you enter a room, his head always raises and a smile quirks his lips. He knows the signs of budding feelings when he sees them, but at first he merely thinks of it as attraction and nothing deeper. It takes someone hitting on you at Angel’s Share for him to realize that it might not just be skin-deep, though. When you smile at the man who politely complimented you and asked if you’d like a drink, Kaeya realizes that even if he wishes to intervene, at the end of the day, you’re not romantically with him. This encounter pushes him to realize the depth of his feelings for you, to say the least. Thankfully, you politely decline the stranger, and the rest of your night is uneventful. But when he walks you back home, your hand in his, Kaeya finally accepts that what he feels for you is so much more than just infatuation.

About the whole thing with Kaeya saying mi muhe ye (I'll triumphant over you) to Venti I don't think meant it as a threat like most people has theorized. I'm not sure of it's just me simping for Kaeya but I think he really cares about Mondstant (I keep calling it Mondo for some reason lol) or at least he cares about what his adopted father has done to the country(?) and he cares about his brother Diluc.

He obviously knows Venti is Barbatos, like c'mon he came from that old place that starts with a K and is very hard to pronounce and spell, so I think he knows that someone is possibly going to attack Venti (base from the trailer) and that's his way of trying to warn him. I know he could've worded it better but there were no other words lmaooo I looked at this reddit post of translation of hilichurlian from CN and there's really nothing that can be used to give a warning to someone as they're all about victory, dominating over someone, etc. etc.

I'm sorry if that was long and full of miny tangents it's just that I haven't seen anyone with the same outlook as me in this topic lol. Overall what I learned is that if I'm as invested in my class as I am in genshin I could've written so many great essays💜💜💜
