13/08/2018 Summer School at the University of Cambridge! I’ve been looking forward to this for a year :)
Ahhh Le petit prince is the cutest book ever! It’s the most philosophical thing I’ve ever read and it’s for children 😂 love it 💕

How do you guys define productivity? (I actually wanted to write something deep).
(10/100)
04/09/18 Biology notes! I’ve not made any in a while and thought I should be productive. I actually got up early for once because my little brother started Year 3 today and I wanted to go with him to drop him off. I don’t go back until the 10th so I’ve got some time on my hands!
Also “High Hopes” by P!ATD is the best thing ever :)
I would like to get above 70% in all my modules this year! (That’s a first class mark here in the UK.)
What is something you wanna achieve in 2021?
27/08/18 My wonderful French teachers always lend me books - this one is Simone de Beauvoir’s “L’invitée”. It doesn’t feel like studying when you’re totally chilled out 😊
Reading is so important and something I think we should all make time for. It’s a shame our high-powered lives don’t allow us much time for this :(
I hate surprise tests but I know I need to start revising now so that’s what I’ve been doing all evening. Now I’m done I can finally sit down with the book I’ve been wanting to read all day!
I love that feeling of being so absorbed in a book you don’t want to ever put it down. I’ve finally found pleasure in reading again - something I lost when I found out aphantasia wasn’t something anyone else I knew had. I just read because I love words and can feel their nuances rather than see them in action in my head :)
Have a lovely evening!
No pictures today - sorry! I’m a bit rushed but I thought I’d update to prove I can finish what I started hehe
I spent an hour reviewing German vocab I learned last year in my last free period of the day, and I also got all my homework completed in time for the weekend. That included biology and chemistry. I got a lot out of my lessons today - I had my first lesson with a teacher I haven’t had since Year 9 (and I’m in Year 13 now!)
(I’m off to Nottingham tomorrow for a uni open day, so I can’t work)
I hope you’ve all had productive days!
Transition metals are legitimately so interesting! I feel like I’ve got stuff done today.
Happy Tuesday :)
Life is mean. It builds your hopes up and then lets them crash and burn in the most brutal way. But pick yourself up, soldier. You are stronger than the harshest disappointment and more resilient than your grief.
It’s a low-key kind of day
This week, I learned about organometallic catalysts for propene polymerisation. I found it an interesting topic, though frustrating: despite understanding the process, I can’t visualise the process to rationalise which catalyst gives which product. That’s kind of the whole point of the catalysts, and I was annoyed that I was fighting (and losing) an uphill battle. But that’s okay, because I found a way around my problem.
I wanted to make a 3D animation of the process since I couldn’t find any, though that would actually require my learning how to model molecules and animate them - that’s a little beyond my skill set right now. Learning to animate molecular processes is long-term goal I have set myself as a little side project, but for now I’ll have to settle for more traditional means. So, I drew the process out and made a graphic for my reference instead.
