Hello from PH!! I just came back from a trip that was so beautiful, I wanna do it all over again (soon, hopefully haha).
We took the road from Cebu City around six in the morning and arrived after 3 hours of road trip. One of the first things I noticed was all the bleeding fire trees while we were traveling. Since it’s summer, fire trees are currently in flowering season as if it were giving autumn vibes minus the summer heat haha.
(EDIT: I told my mother about the pretty fire trees and she said that years ago, my grandfather and his workmates were the ones who were planting these trees all over Santander and Oslob and now they are all grown so big and tall and created happiness huhu lolo ;_;)
Imagine them red flaming trees with the blues of the sea and the crisp cloudless sky. (because i wasn’t able to take a photo of them huhu)
It was my first time in Oslob. The sea was so nice and blue. <3
We stayed in a cozy resort and the people around here were so friendly.
I had to quickly buy a new pair of slippers because they were torn apart along the way. I must say that these classic Spartans are much more trusted than my previous Bench flip flops. Recommending Spartans slippers for any kind of adventure lololol.
Omiyageee. All eyes on the nice prints. *_*
Their souvenirs were so cute! I bought tank tops for papa and lil bro. Since it was also papa’s birthday, I had to bring back a souvenir or something haha.
Highlight: Swimmin with whale sharks!
When I was in first grade, my teacher asked for examples of fish. I answered “whale shark!”. “Whale shark? What whale shark? Just shark!”, said the teacher. I can’t believe my teacher doesn’t even know this fish. But that was years ago.
.
I’ve heard and read opinions and articles about Oslob’s whale shark interactions. Some say that it’s too crowded that the whole activity is too much for the whale sharks. It’s true that there were lots of people (I feel like I’m adding more dirt to dirt ;_;) but the staff was very friendly to the tourists.
Whale sharks can also be found in Southern Leyte, Donsol, Batangas, and even Bohol. Some say that these locations have lesser people. Since they’re migratory, whale sharks are mostly found in their path of good plankton for food.
Other than that, I tried my very best to be cautious and not be nervous at the same time. These gentle giants were so majestic and they deserve more awareness and protection. I’ve learned a lot about these creatures.
Everyone was so friendly (I keep saying this aahh), it makes your day 10x better. :)
Clear your tired eyes with salt water every now and then! (hi Reese)
Hopes and dreams,

Late-ish upload again, sorry! Happy Phycology Friday! This week’s featured friend is also a familiar one: Chondracanthus exasperatus (explanation for why I redid this in the last paragraph). C. exasperatus (common name: Turkish Towel) is a species of red algae. Its appearance may vary with its environmental conditions; for example, its blade shape can vary depending on water velocity, and its colour can vary depending on water temperature.
It also makes for a good loofah, apparently. 😝 - A while back, I drew C. exasperatus and I wasn’t happy with it (it was really rushed and I didn’t have my small brush on me), so I took my sweet time with attempt 2. I think it turned out alright! (or, at least, attempt 1 pales in comparison). I also have a pressing of Chondracanthus (shown on the left in the first photo), which was awesome—it’s always nice to be able to have the real thing in front of you. - What would you like to see featured on a future Phycology Friday? Let me know! ☺️
Did a beach wedding guestbook commission some time ago!! ✨ Don't worry they're not real shells
Also painted smol sea creatures in the pages hehe
☔ Green dewy grass and air getting cold horaaay but man June passed so quickly. Oh and I finally got a new journal last month after two years.
I know its like the first of July but I’m in the middle of all reality and stress with a pile of schoolwork to do huhu but I know all will be well. Keep reminding myself about the small things I see in town like the weird pink tricycle whose horn sounds like a rooster, a dog that looks like a hairless pig, the different kinds of birds living in the backyard, the homeless woman cooking breakfast early in the morning, the electric post that still grows branches and leaves on top of itself, or the cool skater dude with locks that passes by at school.
Yeah, we are definitely gonna be fine
Galileo Galilei, my heroes. I'm gonna miss you guys ❤

五月 ー 七月 (June to July): ☁This journal is inspired by Reese’s aesthetic and Pixie’s iridescent life. 💕 ☁ Ate spicy sunflower seeds and it was good. ☁ Nasal allergies. ☁ “Fusion-y” tea. ✨ ☁ Secret autograph of Reese I will forever keep. ☁ Just saying I’ve learn a lot from Ate Kaila. 💕🌈
My problem with notebooks and journals is that I’m not worthy enough to use them because I might ruin there beauty. Another reason why I take days to finish a page > < But I love them still.
