Ok I'm rereading the extra content and I think this part right here is very important
Andrew says him resisting Kevin is self-preservation and he is not gonna give what is left of him to Kevin to ruin.
Because see what Kevin's obsession with exy got him. A life of torture and a broken hand and being afraid to death of a mentally ill guy named Riko. So Andrew is just trying to protect himself from the same outcome.
But then Neil comes, and he is just as messed up as Kevin is (even more tbh), and Andrew sees first hand how exy is the motivation that makes Neil resist, how making bonds with the other foxes makes Neil look more alive, how having this thing with Andrew makes Neil want to live and not give up. And I think this is exactly why that at the end Andrew agrees to care about exy and give it a shot. Because it worked for Neil right? Maybe it'll also work for Andrew.
Neil I-need-to-live-obscurely-so-I’m-never-ever-found-otherwise-I’ll-be-killed Josten:
*taps a microphone* “to all the mobs currently out for my life: this is my address, social security number, and schedule of all the times I’ll be home alone without protection.”
Andrew, who just promised to keep him alive:
Heard someone telling their kid that boys shouldnt cry and I was like "wtf??? Is this ths Middle Ages???"
Then I remembered there are a lot of mtf who still think like that
the thing about being nonbinary is that you really do start to forget that other people have such strict walls around what is and isn’t allowed for genders. i thought we all agreed that we made that up. could you climb out of the cave real quick and feel the sunshine for a minute.
OP, just know you are perfect!
It annoys me so much when people say AFTG is badly written, this post is just PERFECTION
Thank you!!
Many people have said the book series All For The Game by Nora Sakavic is badly written. However, I believe it is not. To prove this, I made a compilation of posts that explain why the books are meticusly crafted and amazingly written.
*disclaimer: I'm not claiming the books are perfect or have no mistakes, it is impossible for any book to be that way, I'm just saying that it's not even half as bad some people claim it to be

But also, it is important to note that, independently of any romantic feelings they might have for each other, Neil and Andrew both care deeply for Kevin
Kevin has become a part of Andrew's considered family. For Andrew, Kevin is his ppl and will always be. If you mess with Kevin, you mess with Andrew. Even after the deals are over (his with Kevin and with Neil), Andrew still takes them to the Court at night, bc those are his ppl, his family.
Neil literally decided to stay on the Foxes because in his own words, between him and Kevin, one of them had to live. He wanted to make sure Kevin would be able to outlive it all, bc he was sure he wouldnt. In the Foxhole Court he says that if something happenned to Kevin, he wouldnt be able to handle receiving the news on the other side of the world, he needed to be there, with him.
Neil was basically the one who convinced Kevin to stop accepting being number 2 when everyone knew he was better then Riko. He cared about Kevin and wanted to see him in his rightful place as the best striker, he could literally not bare to see someone he cared about holding themselfs down.
Both of them in canon have a deep connection with Kevin. The inverse is also true for Kevin, that also deeply cares about them.
Thats why he gets so mad when he sees that Andrew doesnt take Exy seriously, or why he accepted to keep on helping Neil in the Court, even when he found out Neil was basically a living-dead, walking around on borrowed time. Thats also why he made sure Neil knew he would be there if Neil wanted to talk after arriving from Evermore(even though he is terrible at dealing with emotions), or why he didnt want Neil to go in the first place.
Denying how much they care about each other ir absolutely CRAZY. Even if you dont believe there is romantic or sexual attraction (which would mean you are wrong), denying there is at least platonic love between them is just kind of stupid
Very random but I just saw social media posts that were funny but also do not seem to understand how much Neil and Andrew love Kevin (though they are also all cunts to each other) and do not have that underlying care within them and I had to leave and Became Distraught. Back to the kandrew tag with me. When will everyone understand The Love There. That’s their best friend even if you don’t ship kandreil (I will never stop shipping kandreil and do literally like it more than just the two of them alone however. Which is just basic math because then there’s more things I like in there when you add those other dynamics)
kandreil is real till I die and 200 centuries after that!!! also you're right Andrew and Neil are deeply in love with Kevin even if they don't want to cross the line between their weird friendship and even more weird 'nothing'... they do respect Kevin's choice to remain straight... if he'd only made the first move... oh andrew would crash him between his fingers
it's sad ofc that sometimes people see kandreil as a weird thing from drafts or a sexy threesome but honestly we should bring our hopes up and make kandreil great again!! live laugh love kandreil 💋
can i have you for a moment please

We thought the new triollogy was gonna be abt Jeremy helping Jean heal
Turns out that Nora knows no limits for pain, so they are actually helping each other
I cant 😭
Emo about Jeremy again. Wdym he still misses Leo and he keeps hoping his mother will show him warmth and sympathy, and he tracked all his father’s calls in a notebook, and hated the first time cat told him I love you because it wasn’t fair to come from her first when he’d been waiting so long. Wdym he still tries to connect with his sister and willed himself not to dream so he wouldn’t dream of Jean’s “I will choose you everytime ” out of context and lets all these men use him because at least if he’s being used he’s being thought of at all
reyna and nico are so criminally underrated as a duo.
i just finished rereading BoO, and the significance their relationship has in that book as compared to the content (or lack thereof) of their relationship ive seen in media SHOCKED me.
i genuinely think reyna was a significant part of what helped him open up to people. with her powers, she could see all of his pain and struggles-- note, so much that the GODDESS OF MISERY said she couldn't do anything to trouble him more-- and stuck with him. she supported him, literally and figuratively, every time shadow travelling drained him, through all the bad and the ugly. she had nico hailed as a hero, by both camps that ostracized him, after the end of the battle with the monsters. she gave him--the boy who hates touch--a hug, and he had to fight himself not to break down in her arms.
even further than that, nico was there for her for all of the issues with the ghosts of her family-- something reyna has avoided and ran from ALL HER LIFE. with reyna winning the award for the most complex character with the least actual insight and focus on her character, that is MONUMENTAL
the fandom likes LEO AND CALYPSO's relationship but they underrate THEM?

Jean is the proof that strong doesnt equal hard. He has a deeply kind heart, and it is exactly the fact his heart didnt get hard like stone with all the horrors he was put through that makes him so strong. He didnt just endure, his heart came out it all still soft and beating. I feel like this is also one of the reasons Riko was always specially cruel to Jean. He looked at him and saw all he could never be, all that his money, power and talent would never get him: a kind heart, and he wanted desperately to break this in him, to make Jean bitter and cruel, and it didnt matter how many parts of Jean he would break(physically, emotionally and mentally) he still couldnt break his softness and kindness. Not only that, but he was reminded of this at every turn: when Jean would still take care of Kevin, when he taught Kevin french, when he wasnt able to handle seeing Neil get waterboarded (even though he was tortured like that many times, he couldnt stand there and bare the suffering of another person). Riko hated and despised Jean bc no matter how many times he made Jean see and live through the worst of humanity, Jean still insisted of being a reminder of the best that human beings can be. He reminded Riko that he wasnt bad bc the world was bad, he was bad simply bc he was trash.
That's why I absolutely love Jean Moreau
I swear, this boy desearves the world, he desearves to heal. He desearves to be in a place like the Trojans, full of good ppl, who will show him that he desearves love
jean moreau who learns how to cook and falls in love with it because it distracts him from everything inside his head. jean moreau who learns how to ride a motorcycle and falls in love with the open road now that he can go wherever he wants whenever he wants to. jean moreau who likes peaches and cradles them in his hands like something precious. jean moreau who is sentimental with the gifts he receives from his friends. jean moreau who helped rhemann to pull up the vegetables in his garden and realised he would like to grow something of his own one day. jean moreau who'd plait his sister's hair for her, and sew up the rips in her dress. jean moreau who watches how people show affection to him and to each other and then emulates it back to them when they need it for comfort. jean moreau who was so disturbed by the image of his friend being hurt he searched her for imaginary bumps and bruises he knew weren't there. jean moreau who has been abandoned or betrayed time and again yet still looks out for his friends bc he is loyal by nature. jean moreau who still yearns so deeply for love even though he has convinced himself he cannot have it. jean moreau whose favourite colour is associated with all the things that bring him peace - the soil in rhemann's garden, the sand after the tide washed ashore, the dirt roads he'd been down with cat, jeremy's eyes. jean moreau, a soft boy forced into a hard life.
