My favourite Eliot Spencer character trait is Friend-shaped To Children. Nate can't look at children without crying. Sophie is politely baffled at the concept of Humans Who Don't Understand Complicated Psychological Concepts Because They Are Literally 6 Years Old. Hardison has older brother energy, which is to say children are comfortable in his presence but they don't actively seek him out, unless of course to play an epic prank akin to the great tradition of Ring and Ditch or Spell ICUP. Parker will try to protect any child she can, but under-12s without autistic criminal intent don't really connect with her, unless of course they are Traumatized™.
Eliot Spencer is continuously sought out by children of all ages. Traumatized or not? Does not matter. Literally baby or cool teen? Does not matter. They will come up to him while he is glaring daggers or actively planning to murder someone and ask him to hold their hands through the security check at the airport. And you know what? He does. He holds their hand every single time.
Please god someone save Lockwood and co
My favorite part of the Lockwood and Co. series bad to be Lucy and Lockwood’s second fight. The dialogue and the cinematography is the some of the best i’ve ever seen.
The scene where Lockwood is approaching Jessica’s door while we hear Marissa’s voiceover :-
“Denial is a very human reaction when faced with new ideas. Especially such frightening ones.”
Just the parallelism. Marissa being 100% sure that type threes exist and lucy being a 100% that she can hear type threes.
It’s implied that people called Marissa a liar when she mentioned the type three, and Lockwood didn’t believe Lucy at first when she told him.
Not because he honestly doesn’t believe her but because he’s scared of what that would mean about Jessica😭.
Also before that when they were arguing:
“You’re not Marissa Fittes”
“Why? Afraid of being Tom Rotwell? My second best”
(Book Lucy would never go that far😂)
Like it’s such an obvious set up to future seasons where we’d get more Fittes-Lucy and Rotwell-Lockwood parallels.
It makes me so sad because the first season was an amazing building block for the rest of the show and we might have gotten so many more heart wrenching and dynamic scenes like this, but instead Netflex screwed crap up. Again.
nah since marvel is trending again I’m going to say it again louder for the people in back — canon steve rogers would never have chosen an “idyllic 1950s white pickett fence life” because the only place that man belonged was a picket LINE. the whole point of his character was that his work was never done. there was always going to be another oppressor, another bully, another person who takes advantage of the underprivileged for him to stand up to. from the moment he gained consciousness he, a chronically ill son of a working class mother living below the poverty line, used his voice and his body to protect & fight for what he believed in. I’m not sure there was ever a time pre-super soldier serum where he didn’t have a black eye. he could put the shield down all he wanted but he could never retire from being steve rogers — someone who never once turned a blind eye, who never once wanted a “reward” for his work, who never once abandoned his friends. this isn’t up for debate. this is almost a century of comic book & film/animated precedent. he may have been a man out of time, but in his words “it’s tempting to want to live in the past. it’s familiar, it’s comfortable. but it’s where fossils come from”
I love them 🥹
ot3parallels:→(parker & eliot’s cute handshakes with hardison) 11/∞
When thinking about CC3, there’s one thing, in particular, I’m hoping for.
(No, that’s not true, there are many many many things I’m hoping for, but that’s beside the point...)
I'm hoping for the redemption of Danika and her friendship with Bryce. I loved their relationship; friendship but more, love but not romantic or sexual. I want to see more examples of these. That it's possible to have your friend as the most important person in your life.
It guts me whenever I think about how this friendship was undermined by all the secrets Danika kept. So what I'm hoping for is an explanation, something to set this right. No idea how, but just... please...?
Growing.
I watched the first episode of The Night Agent while I was painting my nails this evening and it is like, THEE most trope-y thing of "woman nearly dies over something she's accidentally tied up in and has no idea what's going on, but a calm and collected under pressure dude helps her through it and even though she's been warned not to trust anyone, she's decided to trust him because otherwise she's alone".
But consider this, I LOVE this trope and I am already strapped in, on board, ready to eat this up.
Like, oh you're gonna be absolutely in control over the phone and talk this lady through where to hide and keep checking in to make sure she's okay? You're gonna keep her safe when people jump out to attack you? You're gonna try and keep her calm while people are shooting at you and gently bandage her minor wound afterwards? You're gonna stay because she asked you to? Because it makes her feel safe? All in the first episode?!?! Sign me TF up. I can't wait until we get to the point where HE gets injured trying to save her and she has to help bandage HIS wounds. Top tier tropes for sure. Love this for me. Sorry I watched The Bourne Identity 700 times as a teen as if it's my fault that movie is a banger.
Lockwood and co I will avenge you. Tis the season
Studios are so obsessed with trying to find the next cash cow that they will kill the calf before it's weaned from its mothers milk.
Ok so i don't have the time to go in and get a screen recorded video with volume but look here
When parker says she wants to kill Dalton Rand, she's looking to Nate. She's asking Nate if they can kill him. Eliot volunteers to kill him. Parker turns to look at Eliot when he starts to speak. Eliot "I don't kill people anymore" Spencer volunteers to kill Rand of his own volition. Parker isn't even asking him, looking to him. He just cares so much about Parker being hurt that he volunteers to do something that hurts himself without being promted or asked personally. This is just something that means so much to me. This is only season 2 but the strong connections are already there
Random stuff I love. Currently obsessed with Lockwood and co. Pls go stream it on Netflix we need season 2!!
