Okay so, I was watching Lockwood & Co right, as you do, specifically the episode after Lucy and Lockwood jump into the Thames to escape from glitter sword
So, when they get back we see them getting dressed out of their wet clothes and it’s such an important scene that they included and here’s why:
There’s the scene with Lucy and it shows her looking at the necklace, but not putting it on. She picks it up and she gives it a sad almost regretful look before she puts it down and we know that she was fiddling with it with the Penelope meeting which is what clued Penelope in so to her it signifies Lockwood and their relationship and she isn’t putting it on but she isn’t throwing it away either. She’s mad at him, she definitely hasn’t forgiven him, but she’s not tossing him away either.
Now Lockwood, this is the one that got me excited. We have seen him wearing “normal” clothes in front of Lucy before. It would seem to be the obvious decision that, since they believe everything is over and the next step is to go to sleep, to get into comfortable clothes. But Lockwood doesn’t do that. Lockwood is one of those individuals who use the way they dress as a defense, a sort of armor, and when Lockwood gets dressed he dresses in his usual suit and tie, in his armor before he goes down to talk with Lucy. He has no clue where he stands with Lucy anymore, that ease he shows earlier with that sweater and t-shirt is gone and he’s preparing himself for the worst case scenario. He’s preparing himself for Lucy to leave him and then he walks in and Lucy’s wearing regular Lucy clothes (but then again, she doesn’t use her clothes as armor) and she’s not facing him and he’s so nervous and scared and you can see it on his face. He’s not wearing his coat, he still has hope that maybe just maybe he hasn’t completely fucked everything up but he doesn’t know and it scares him
IDK Lockwood and him using clothes as armor makes me emotional everytime does anyone else see this???
Man, Fear Street always makes me emotional. The killers being remembered as monsters by everyone when they all were innocent, good people being forced to kill people—many times, their loved ones—. And we know that they at least have some level of consciousness when they do it because of Ruby Lane; she killed herself, which means that at some point she managed to snap out at least for a moment and took herself out before she could hurt someone else. Nurse Lane, who spent her life investigating and trying to get to the truth about her daughter. Ziggy, who lost her sister and spent her entire adulthood thinking it'd all been for nothing and wishing she'd stayed dead (and then at the end when Ziggy visits Nurse Lane and they both finally get their peace? Sobbing).
And most of all, Sarah's story always gets me the most. Betrayed by someone she trusted and accused and killed by people who'd known her all her life for something she didn't do and because she was a lesbian and loved another woman in 1666, and was remembered as a monster too, as the witch who cursed the town when all she ever tried was getting people to the truth. Always hurts to see her story, but it makes it all the more satisfying when she finally gets her vengeance and finally has people who know the truth about her and respect her. That "Sarah Fier, the first Shadysider" at the end and Sam and Deena kissing in broad daylight just like Sarah wanted to do with Hannah always fucking gets me too.
Like fuck.
Is anyone talking about how Percy, who said he chose Annabeth for the quest because he thought she'd push him down the stairs if it meant the quest would succeed, actually did that for her instead?
Bro was literally poisoned and dying and saw how Annabeth was willing to take a stand against the literal DEMIGOD KILLER to protect him and what did he do? PUSHED BOTH ANNABETH AND GROVER DOWN THE STAIRS SO THEY COULD CARRY ON THE QUEST WITHOUT HIM!!!!!
Beautiful. Cinema at its finest! Love me some good ass parallels that develop these characters better than I ever could imagine!
the feminine urge to listen to the entire soundtrack of the movie/series you've just finished.
“With the strikes it’s back to watching reruns and old movies!”
Me, who already doesn’t see new movies til like 5 years after they come out and has a backlog of shows to watch a mile long:
I’m crying 😭😭 he trusts them so fucking much
Watching The Corkscrew Job and just ...
Eliot trusting Parker and Hardison enough to go into a situation where he's about to have no oxygen. He would hear over the comms that they're facing down henchmen who are trying to stop them. He doesn't know how long it'll take for them to get air flow happening again.
But there's an innocent person to protect and he has faith in his partners. Faith enough to willingly risk his life time and time again - not just in this instance, but all the others we see over the course of the show. Because Eliot knows that Parker and Hardison will do whatever it takes to protect him, just as he protects them.
There's just something so profound about not even having enough air to draw breath - but it doesn't matter, because you know your partners are out there, fighting to get that next breath to you. And it might take longer than expected. It might not go smoothly, hell, it might not even work at all. But it doesn't matter because your faith in these people is greater than the instincts screaming for oxygen.
Eliot can't breathe without them. But he's used to that - he's been living this way for years already. So he holds his breath and trusts.
One thing I love so much about the MI movies is that at the beginning they were just another bond movie. Replaceable female love interest, and everyone else was also replaceable
But with six movies Ethan managed to find himself a little found family. With the writers changing every movie it was definitely never planned. But then everyone liked Luther so much - so he stayed, and then everyone liked Benji so he stayed. Then everyone loved Brandt so he stayed. Then McQuarrie appeared and delivered and hell, did he delivered. And he wrote Ilsa and the found family was perfect
And now Ethan, who started like a second bond, a lonely lone wolf, now says things like: you life’s matter more then the mission. If anything happened to you I will kill everyone who ever hurt you“
I am a Little emotional
Love her!!
A funny thing about the Greta Thunberg and Andrew Tate is the level of effort each put in. Greta probably spent less than a minute thinking up then writing that post whilst Andrew clearly spent hours on his video, getting his big cigars, putting on his silk robe and ordering a pizza all to prove how he, a 36 year old adult, was unfazed and totally not owned by a 19 year old. And it got him arrested.
This’ll go down in internet history, Greta ruined a sex trafficker life with a tweet.
#Something something about Annabeth expecting help from her mother because she was always the perfect kid but getting sent to her own death and Percy expecting nothing because he doesn't believe in his dad and despite everything being saved from death by him
Yearly Reminder that C.S Lewis encouraged his fans to write fanfiction about Susan Pevensie becoming a friend to Narnia and reuniting with her family once again.
Literally inviting his fans to write Susan’s adult, angsty character development with a happy ending.
Do your duty fans. Write that fanfiction.
Random stuff I love. Currently obsessed with Lockwood and co. Pls go stream it on Netflix we need season 2!!
