scully: "what time is it?"

she's not even surprised to have him there waking her up. what time is it? so . . . what if this is a thing that happens sometimes? a thing that happens a lot when they're away on cases? a thing that even happens at home? scully is a sound sleeper most nights. and she loves the snooze button. and work is always too early, who even invented that??

it is not the reason mulder has a key to her apartment, it is not the only reason they like having adjoining motel rooms, but those things do come in handy. more than once mulder has let himself into her apartment in the morning, or into her room on cases. he even brings coffee. stands next to her bed, watching her sleep for a moment; she's beautiful and he's so afraid sometimes of giving too much away when he looks at her, but on those mornings, he's allowed. and it's okay, she's okay with him waking her like this - he asked and she said yes. she would never admit it, but she likes his face being the first thing she sees in the morning.

some nights she stays on the phone with him, stays in his motel room until he falls asleep, because going to sleep is hard for him. but the mornings are his time to take care of her. "what time is it?" having him there is not a surprise. it's something they do. something that makes her happy when she thinks about it, even if she's not ready to admit it just yet.

I think this is just a win for queequeg

in case you want something to weep about: Scully got to keep Queequeg for 2 more episodes than William (19 vs. 17).

I feel like if ellen (the mother of Scully’s godson s1e5 Jersey Devil, obviously a close friend who encourages her to go after Mulder literally in the FIFTH episode) had been in the series more, or Melissa for that matter, either Mulder and Scully’s relationship would’ve progressed 10x more quickly or we would’ve at least gotten a few “yeah i was telling ellen about y- about this case we’re working on.”

“Missy thinks you’re full of shit.” “And why does she thinks that” “well i was telling her about- never mind”

Ellen meeting Mulder with the “i’ve heard a lot about you.”

Or better yet Mulder greets Missy (if they hadn’t met for the first time during abduction arc) with “i’ve heard a lot about you” and Missy gives him the you’re-not-good-enough-for-my-baby-sister stare and responds with “Really? Because Dana’s told me absolutely nothing about you (lie).”

Just saying Scully needed more friends, Mulder got the gun men and Scully got be the only consistent female character for at least five season

Triangle is so important to me cuz what the fuck do you mean they’re platonic work partners but they find each other in every universe? You thought sad boy Mulder from abduction arc was unhinged? You are not prepared for Scully when Mulder hasn’t called her in 12 hours. SHE PULLS A GUN ON SPENDER IIRC or at least threatens to, we get to see gillian anderson dressed to the 9s in 1940s fashion and then the fact that Scully canonically kisses skinner before Mulder and the poor man is just flabbergasted. And then the end, when Scully is convinced Mulder is delusional and so on drugs that he doesn’t know what he saying/doesnt mean it. OH BROTHER?!?!?

What do you think their relationship was like the few days after that episode, did Mulder remember saying that? Did Scully remember him saying that everytime she walked into his hospital room and when he walked through the door at work for their shitty season 6 background checks?

Also “I suggest you get your Nazi paws off me before you get one in the kisser.” -> “i was expecting a left.” GOLD AHH

I could do my summer work, which is not due for 18 more days, but feels responsible OR i could write fanfiction. Which also some how feels responsible
