This whole switch shows their emotional closeness in a way - at least on Louis' part- that just saying "brother" lacks of (keep in mind that even after a decade of knowing each other, Louis is kind of distant, a bit sus too I guess, about this 'benefactor' brother and then, later on, Louis just wholeheartedly calls him brother).
