There Are Crazy Things That Are Happening All Over The World Today. Anger Is Raging In The Hearts Of

There are crazy things that are happening all over the world today. Anger is raging in the hearts of many and the world feels more like a battleground than the place it use to be. Because of that, I am going to try my best and commit to not be one who has anger in her heart. I will not be one who pretends that she does not give a care in the world when she really is hurting and has emotions tenfold. I will not mask my hurt with anger and I will not mask my fear with pretending to be someone I’m not. There is a phrase that says that we should fake it till we make it, but what is that benefiting us? Sure we can learn to go through the motions, but then we’re not really living. We’re kind of just in that i between state. We should be able to live and love. Love is not weak, feeling emotions is not pitiful, and faking is not living. A person is allowed to feel hurt, but they should not always choose anger. Instead, they should let theirselves feel hurt and then try to understand how they could be better. Anger just leads to feeling bitter and confusion. It’s better to let yourself feel hurt and not be quick to anger. Hear the other person out, then tell them your side, and then come to an agreement. Anger reaps pride and pride reaps blaming others entirely for the mistake that involved both parties and not just one. Is that what we become? People who blame rather than love? People who are quick to anger rather than people who care? Again, love and caring are not weak. Instead, they make us stronger. Also, a person is allowed to feel fear. One should not be hiding their fears for toughness. Yes, it’s ok to feel tough, but it is also ok to feel fearful. This allows one to understand what they are afraid of. Though some may choose a path that makes them more fearful, instead choose a path that will help you get over your fears. Now that you have discovered your fears, what can you do to help you understand your fears as they really are-getting over the fear? All this that I just described is truly living. The negatives are not and make one instead go through the motions. Today, I vow to truly live.

Fixing His Broken Heart; Prologue(Hangman x F! reader)

Fixing His Broken Heart; Prologue(Hangman X F! Reader)

Pairing: Hangman x F! reader, Rooster x Phoenix, Bob x OC

Summary: Hangman's wife cheated on him and it's up to (Y/N) to fix his broken heart.

Warnings: Angst, Yelling(if that's even a warning), Depressed Hangman, Really none at the moment

Prologue.

A man with gold flecks in his hair stood in front of a large window looking down at the people below him. There was a woman with big, blonde hair to the nines and perfectly done makeup to the nines holding onto a man with dark red hair and a perfectly chiseled face. Her perfectly manicured hands were carded through the man's red hair as their foreheads met together. She was whispering something to him and then gave him short, but fierce kiss.

The man let go of her, reluctantly and got into the car that was next to them. The car drove off as she stared after it. She sighed really big and then took out a little compact mirror and a tube of lipstick. She looked at herself in the little mirror and carefully applied the lipstick to her plump lips. If the man above didn't know any better, he would say that she looked like a vision of estacy, only his to devour and hold. He knew better though, and it broke his heart that he couldn't give her what the other man could.

From outside, the woman fixed up her dress and made sure she was showing ample cleavage before she went inside. Cara Seresin was probably the most well renowned ex beauty queen of the South. Everyone knew who she was all the way from Texas to Georgia and beyond. Everyone loved her and everyone wanted to be her. She also had the hottest husband in America too- Jake Seresin.

He was okay, she guessed. He use to do many things that would make her swoon and want to jump his bones then and there, but now he was just a washed up version of that person and didn't want anything to do with her anymore. He was always at work; She thinks that he was like an airline pilot or something. Honestly, she forgot what he did and she didn't care. As long as he was bringing in the money, she was content. Marshall on the other hand, she met through a group of ex beauty queen friends. He had beautiful, fiery red hair and such a chiseled jaw. He also had a body to match. He was everything that she wished for her husband. With one word, he could make her melt and do anything he pleased.

Cara was in front of her husband's office door now. She quickly took out her little mirror again and did a once over. To herself, she looked like sheer perfection and that was good to know. She put the little mirror away and knocked on his door. She waited a couple of minutes, until she heard a, "come in" from the other side. The clattering of heels made their way into the room and stopped in front of a large desk to which her husband was sitting behind.

Jake Seresin was a vision of god-like power as he sat in the chair behind the large desk. He was wearing a navy blue suit that perfectly fit his body and his hair was done to perfection. From an outsiders point of view, the couple looked like one of those perfect couples you would find on the red carpet from the way they dressed. The only thing that was missing from them that those other couples had was the look and feeling of true love: in their body language and their faces.

Jake just looked at her. He knew and she knew he knew. "How long has it been going on?", he asked in a solemn tone, staring into her blue eyes. She sighed and looked away. She really didn't want to break his heart, but the bandaid had to come off sooner or later. She quickly made eye contact with him and looked down at the floor. "A year now.", she said, feeling no remorse like she thought she would.

The man in front of her sighed and ran his hands down his face. His thoughts were filled with frustration towards his wife and the man she was just with. "What do I do now, Cara?", he asked desperately. This made the woman mad and scoff, putting her hands on her hips. "I don't know Jake. You hardly come home anymore and when you do, we hardly ever make love like we use to. You don't even treat me like you use to!",She yells. This makes the man stand up, in a fit of anger. "You're the one that's different Cara! You come home late and then expect me to love on you when I smell another man's cologne on you! You don't think that hurts me just as much as I hurt you?!", He yelled pointing a finger at her.

Tears made their way down her face, ruining her perfect makeup. He wasn't supposed to know about her late nights with Marshall. She thought she had taken a good enough shower to get Marshall's scent off of her before she came home. "You weren't supposed to know about that.", she stated venomously. Jake sarcastically laughed at her remark. "I'm not stupid Cara. I may not have gotten the best grades in high school, but I'm not stupid. You practically reeked of him then and you reek of him now! I guess it's all that hairspray going to your head to miss that.", he said, while looking at her.

After he said that, it went silent. Both didn't say anything at all. Cara's eyes were looking out the window and Jake was looking down at his desk.

Moments later, a soft knock could be heard. Jake looked up from the desk and sighed. It was probably his assistant, (Y/N). "Come in,"he said as his wife wiped away her tears with a velvet handkerchief.

The door opened and a beautiful looking girl came in. She had (H/C) hair, (E/C) eyes, and flawless skin. Her hair was done up in a tight pony-tail while she wore a black business coat, placed of a white blouse, and a black, tight skirt to match with black heels to pull the look together. "Mr. Seresin, Captain Mitchell called this morning and said that he needed you at the Naval Base.", she said, while looking at the scene in front of her. Mrs Seresin's make up was messed up and she looked like she just got so very terrible news. Mr. Seresin also looked like he got some terrible news too, but seemed more angry about it. All this tension made (Y/N) uncomfortable and her anxiety levels rise. She really wanted to ask if everything was okay, but decided against fearing that she would make the situation worse.

"Um, okay. Call him back and tell him I'm coming now.", he said. With that, she backed out the room, closing the door behind her and taking a big sigh. She knew that Jake and Cara were going through a rough patch, but she didn't know it was that bad. She guess Jake finally found out about Cara and Marshall. Though, they weren't probably weren't being as sneaky as they thought. She remembered an incident from a few weeks ago.

Cara had invited Marshall over for a late night session of whatever they did and it just so seemed that particular night (Y/N) had to stay late. Jake was on another naval mission and he forgot to prepare a presentation for one of the many meetings of his new promotion as Captain. (Y/N) decided that it would be best if she stayed and helped him out because she knew that he would be too tired when he got back to do it.

That particular, she heard a large ruckus happening in The Seresin's bedroom. She didn't think much of it because she was too busy with the presentation to even care, but one thing got her attention though.

As she was just finishing up making the presentation, she heard the door open and fits of laughter down the hallway. A particular sentence Cara said got her attention. "Don't worry Marshall. Jake's not going to know about us. I promise you." (Y/N) stopped what she was doing and went to see what was going on. She saw Cara walking down the hall with a man who she could only recognize as Marshall. His hands were around her waist as they walked and continued to laugh about nonsense. If she was honest, Marshall's hair looked like sex hair, from the back.

She made her way into The Seresin's bedroom to see if there was an evidence that could tell her what was actually going on inbetween the two people she saw outside. That's when she found an undershirt on the floor. Maybe it was just Jake's undershirt and maybe something really wasn't going on between Marshall and Cara like she concluded. After all, Cara did say that Marshall was only coming over to take a look at the faucet in the bathroom in their room anyways.

She picked it up and started folding it. Truth be told, (Y/N) had a little crush on her boss, Jake. He was everything that she dreamed about in a man. He was perfect inside and out. She wish she could be the one that Jake was holding on to when he was back from his naval missions and the one that he looked lovingly at, but Jake married Cara. She was an ex beauty queen that was perfect in every way. Jake wanted perfect and she wasn't perfect.

She put the undershirt up to her nose to smell Jake's cologne. There was only one time that Jake showed her the only affection that she would ever get from him and that was when her mother died. She remembered coming in one morning to work and got a phone call in the process. It was her dad telling her the news of what happened. The whole morning she cried and couldn't work as efficiently as she usually did. Jake noticed and called her into his office. He asked and she told him about her mother. Then he did something that she would never forget. He pulled her into a hug. His scent engulfed and she found so much comfort in it.

She missed that scent and glad that she could at least smell it one more time before Jake got home.

When she smelled the undershirt, something was off. It wasn't the wonderful scent she came to love, but another foreign scent she didn't recognize. Did Jake start using a new cologne? She quickly folded the shirt and was going to put it in Jake's drawers, until she saw an M marked inside on the tag in black sharpie. "M", she thought. The only person she knew that started with the letter M was Marshall or Mitchell. It certainly couldn't be Captain Mitchell's because he was never here in the first place, but Marshall was.

That's when it all started coming together for (Y/N) and her suspicions were once again confirmed. Cara was indeed cheating on Jake.

(Y/N) sighed at the memory bubbling in her mind. The reason she didn't tell her boss is because she didn't think it was hers to tell and also because Jake had been under so much stress with his new promotion that this would be another unnecessary burden that he would have to carry. She didn't want that for him because she cared for him too much. She was a bit glad that he did find out though. He was such a smart person and she loved that about him.

Cara couldn't see him like she did. Cara didn't understand that he was a Naval Pilot and that's the reason why he wasn't there most of the time. Cara couldn't see all the PTSD that he went through from past missions. She didn't know that he was promoted as captain and that he had been working for that almost his whole career. And, (Y/N) would bet that Cara didn't even know what Jake's favorite color was. All Cara cared about was her looks, her hair, clothes, and Marshall. Which in (Y/N)'s mind, should have been Jake. It wasn't though and that made (Y/N) a little frustrated with Cara. She didn't show it though and just carried on with life.

(Y/N) continued to walk down the hallway in thought as a screaming match picked up in the room she was just in.

"YOU'RE SLEEPING WITH HIM CARA! HOW DO YOU NOT EXPECT ME TO BE MAD!", Jake yelled exasperated. Cara was full-on crying now. "JAKE, YOU WEREN'T THERE WHEN I NEEDED YOU!", she cried. "THAT'S BECAUSE YOU SHUT ME OUT AND DIDN'T WANT ME ANYMORE! YOU WENT TO HIM INSTEAD!", Jake yelled back, on the verge of crying now.

The yelling didn't stop for another twenty minutes. Each threw each other under the bus with hurtful words and kept tearing each others hearts apart with those hurtful words. Finally, after a few minutes, both stopped yelling. Silence fell over the room again.

"Tell me this. Did you even love me in the first place? And if you did, when did you fall out of love with me?", Came Jake's voice. Cara was looking out the window now. She just wished that this could be over and that Marshall would come pick her up. She looked down at her phone where a reply from Marshall could be seen. All it said was, "I'm coming right now" in big letters. Silently, she prayed to whatever God there was and turned around to see Jake and answer his question.

"I was in love with you",she started,"But then you started going on more work trips and I met Marshall. He was good to me and still is. He does all the things for me that you used to do before we first got married." This broke Jake's heart. He didn't realize that she thought he was neglecting her. He was just on so many missions for work and ever since he got promoted to Captain that took him away even more. "Well, I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you." He said.

He came over to her and pulled her into a hug. She didn't hug him back at first, but then started to after a few seconds.

They both missed this. Being in each others arms. It hurt too much to think that they neglected each other of this.

Jake pulled away and looked at his wife. Her makeup was smeared and almost washed away, but she was still as beautiful as the day he met her. He smiled at her sadly. "I think I know where this is going", he said quietly. She flashed a sad smile and nodded. Taking a deep breath, she pulled away from him and took off the ring that he gave her when they got married. She handed it to him. "It was a great ride Jake." She said, taking a step back from him,"But I think it's time for us to end it. " Jake looked down at his shoes and nodded his head, not even looking at her.

"Marshall will pick me up in a bit. I'll have my lawyer send the divorce papers over."She said and then she was gone. Leaving Jake alone by himself, in the big office. He had a broken heart and he didn't know how he would be able to fix it.

They were once in love and now that love is broken. How will he ever love again.

A Protector

A Protector

Summary: Rooster comes back as your protector

tagging: @maximoffweasley @jobean12-blog @marvelgirl7

Rooster was smitten with Y/N the moment he met her. She was Penny’s right hand at the Hard Deck, the pair of them ran a tighter ship than any Naval officer could. He couldn’t help but smile as she turned down each and every serviceman who offered to buy her a drink. She had a fire that couldn’t be quenched no matter how overwhelmed the bartop became. She treated each of them the same, cocking her head to the side at the bad attempts at flirting, laughing as each face dropped as the bell resounded immediately followed by cheers. Rooster had found that returning after years away had not diminished his feelings for her. In fact, he had found the phrase 'absence makes the heart grow stronger’ applied to him as soon as he walked in the front door of the bar. He wanted to talk to her, he did, but the other pilots caught sight of him and waved him over before he had a chance to see her.

Y/N’s head jerked up at the mention of Bradley’s call sign, she watched the man walk across the bar, trying to suppress the feelings that crawled up her throat from years ago. She took a deep breath, shaking the cocktail tin and glass before pouring, then handing off the drink. She licked her lips and got back to work, sneaking glances when she thought no one was looking at the pilot who turned her world upside down a few years ago.

“I saw that,” Penny gave her a knowing look, “you two have been dancing around each other all night, he came to my side of the bar to order instead of yours.”

“Then I wouldn’t call that dancing, I call that distancing,” she set four bottles of beer on the counter, working the cap off of each of them quickly, “if that’s how he wants to play it, then fine. We’ll part as unlikely acquaintances,” she brushed off the older woman.

“I’ll leave you to think that,” Penny laughed, “I’m gonna head out. You okay?”

“Yeah,” she answered with a smile, “let me know when you get home safely.”

“You too, Y/N. I mean it,” she gave her a warning glance.

“Yes ma’am,” she gave a small salute and let Penny pass her to leave through the back.

The night wore on, all the soldiers drinking enough to definitely leave them hungover the day after. Y/N wasn’t overwhelmed, but the bar had become unruly. New recruits trying to climb over the bar for bottles, the regulars being shoved by said new recruits. She was just about to shout when the jukebox died and sounds of disgruntled individuals echoed through the bar. She looked  over to the juke as Rooster sat down at the piano, playing his signature song.

She looked over at him, shaking her head in exasperation as the Top Gun pilots gathered around him, singing the loudest. He couldn’t help but look over his shoulder to smile at Y/N as she stood, watching him. A small smile played at her lips as she went back to cleaning up messes while everyone was distracted. Loud chants of his name died down enough for her yell for last call, from there the bar’s population thinned out immensely.

After closing up, she wrapped her denim jacket around her, the nights being cool along the Pacific. She stuffed her earnings in her pocket, exchanging the cash for keys. She locked the doors and brushed her hair back. “You know it’s not polite to sneak up on a woman, Lieutenant.”

“Do I ask how you knew it was me?” he smiled softly as he pushed off the wall of the bar.

“You’re still wearing that god awful cologne you wore last time I saw you,” she shook her head, “what are you still doing here? Don’t you have a base to be back at?”

“I came to offer a ride, seeing as how you’re still on that mission to walk everywhere,” he gestured to the empty parking lot with the exception of his Bronco.

“It’s only two miles,” she tried to reason with him.

He shook his head and put his hands on her shoulders, guiding her over to his car, “a lot can happen in two miles,” he protested.

“I don’t need a protector, I need my bed,” she protested as she shrugged him off of her.

Rooster laughed and shook his head, “well then it’s a good thing I’m not one.” Her eyes narrowed as she folded her arms across her chest, “you’re in the Navy, that’s literally the job description,” she tilted her head to the side.

“Y/N,” him saying her name caused a flutter she did her best to ignore, “just get in the damn car.

“Fine,” she agreed as she waited for him to unlock the door, which he did and pulled it open for her.

The ride home wasn’t awkward, but Y/N still didn’t know what to say to him, it had been years, they both had grown. She knew that there had been a blow out with him and Maverick, but she didn’t know if he wanted to talk about it. That was the funny thing about time, it took these two from friends who could talk about anything, to something Y/N didn’t quite understand. He parked outside the house and shut the engine off, unbuckling his seatbelt.

“Walking me to the door? Can a lot happen from the car to the door?”

“My mom always told me to walk a lady to the door,” he responded, opening his door.

She met him outside and looked at him, “how is your mom?” she breathed.

Rooster suddenly looked down, as if growing shy, “she passed away last year,” he muttered.

“Rooster,” she stammered, “I’m so sorry,” she frowned, she fought the urge to reach out and touch him. She lost, reaching out to grab his hand. “I didn’t know.” “How could you? It’s not like you keep tabs on me,” he reasoned.

“Who said I didn’t?” she joked to lighten the tension, “I definitely did,” she laughed softly.

His own chuckle slipped out as he looked at her, “I missed your laugh. I missed you.”

“You had Penny and I fooled, she said you ignored me all night,” she shuffled her feet. “I thought you wanted nothing to do with me.”

“No, no,” he shook his head, “not at all,” he denied, “I know that I cut off contact with you as soon as I graduated, I just didn’t know if you would want to see me.”

“Of course I did, if anything to find out why you cut me off,” she murmured.

“I know,” he said sheepishly, shoving his hands in his pockets.

“So why did you do it?” she asked softly, looking him up and down, “cut me off, I mean.”

“I-” he hesitated, “I didn’t want to hurt you more than I had already. This job- it isn’t easy, and I am not the type of person to have someone worrying over me. I’m sorry.” “You’re a fucking idiot,” she said bluntly causing his eyes to widen, “Bradley, cutting me off didn’t stop me from worrying,” she straightened her spine and started towards her front door. “Honestly, that is the dumbest excuse I’ve ever heard and I work in a bar full of Navy soldiers.”

“Y/N,” he jogged to catched up with her, “you didn’t let me finish,” he grabbed her wrist gently to stop her from putting the key in the lock.”

“What else is there to say?” she shook her head, “you’ve made it more than clear that you need no one other than yourself.” “I used to think that,” he agreed, “but when I went overseas and saw all of those who made it work, who had someone to look forward to…I thought about reaching out to you so many times,” he looked at her in earnest, “you have to believe that.”

“I do,” she muttered, “but what about the agreement we made? Just friends?”

He chuckled softly, “tell me you’ve never thought about it, about us and we’ll be friends.”

“Bradley Bradshaw,” she stepped closer to him, “I was doomed from the moment I set eyes on you,” she grabbed him by the undershirt, pulling him in for a kiss.

Rooster smiled against her lips, wrapping his arms around her waist, pulling her tightly to his chest.

After completing his mission with Maverick, Rooster, having become captain, made the move to Fightertown permanently, living on base for a few months and then in with Y/N shortly after. After a year, old habits die hard, Rooster hung around after closing to take Y/N home. But that was broken when she stepped outside and saw Maverick standing where Rooster normally stood.

“Captain Mitchell,” her tone wavered, “is Bradley okay?” she panicked.

“He’s fine,” he smiled reassuringly, “right now it’s Mav,” he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, “let’s take a walk,” he led her onto the sand.

“Okay,” she replied hesitantly.

“You know, Y/N, I’ve known Rooster since he was little, he was nothing like he is now, he was always so shy.”

“Roos? Shy?” she scoffed with a laugh.

“As far-fetched as it sounds,” he laughed, “but it always seemed to me that he would never settle down, and believe me it takes a special type of woman to tame a Bradshaw,” he caused both of them to laugh. “You’re good for him,” he nodded.

“That means a lot coming from you,” she smiled softly at the pilot. The light of a bonfire caught her eye and she turned to it to see her and Rooster’s friends smiling at her. Mav disappeared from her side and Rooster soon replaced him.

“Glad you could join us,” he kissed her forehead.

“It’s not like Mav, left me much of a choice,” she joked, “though I suspect you have something to do with that.”

“Maybe a little,” he winked at her and turned towards her fully, “Y/N.”

“Bradley,” she parroted back to him in a similar tone, arching a brow.

“You know I love you right?”

“I sure hope so, we’ve been together a year.” He broke out in a grin, “exactly a year ago tonight you told me that you were doomed from the moment you met me.”

“I see that did wonders for your ego,” she teased.

“Honey,” he grabbed her hips, “let me talk, will you?” he chuckled and she nodded in response. “I have to tell you from the moment that I set foot in that bar and saw you smiling as you shook up a drink I knew I was meant to fall in love with you, and I did,” he laughed nervously. “After my dad- I thought there was no way I could put someone I love through that, but you with your smile and the never ending sass,” he joked, “it made me realize that there is no other woman who could handle me. So I have a question,” he lowered to one knee. She felt her eyes fill with tears, smiling as she looked at him, “Y/N, will you become Mrs. Rooster Bradshaw, honey?”

“Yes,” she stammered through her happy tears, “yes, of course,” she helped him up. He slipped the ring on her finger, followed by his arms wrapping around her waist to kiss her. A wide grin spread across her lips as she kissed him back, cupping both of his cheeks. Their friends shouted loudly, ‘oo-ing’ and ‘aww-ing’ at the couple. She pulled away with a small laugh sneaking a glance at those around them before burying her face in Rooster’s neck.

He smiled and kissed the top of her head as he rubbed the small of her back, “she said yes!” he whooped as his friends started shouting again at the success.

She broke away with a laugh and looked up at him, “you’re stuck with me now, you know that, right?”

“I think I can handle that, honey” he smiled down at her and kissed her again.

I kind of agree with this, but at the same time, writers write for the audience. I think one huge lesson I learned in English Class was that your writing could make sense to you, but when your readers don’t get it, then they are not going to read it. A writer writes because of their readers. I mean, yes it does make sense to write for yourself, but in the end, where are you going as a writer who creates FanFiction TO BE READ when people aren’t enjoying your fics? In the end, a true writer writes because of their reader; They keep their readers in mind and that helps create their purpose. But, yes, I understand what you are saying. Please don’t come for me. 😅

when readers on tiktok are like: i wish fic writers would stop using the word-

bestie write your own fics using the words you’d rather see then

or when they’re like: i’m sick of reading this trope for-

write fics yourself bestie give yourself the content YOU want to see

or this one: fic writers need to write something i can relate-

bestie…you know where i’m going with this right? lmao

it’s not fic writers jobs to cater to your whims, wants, and needs, i’m not trying to be rude but we do this for free. if you want something specific write it yourself!!

Never thought I needed to see a skeleton squid/octopus, but thank you! I also hope you do feel better @kazanskys-mitchell. You deserve the world! It’s so hard to adjust to something so new, but a friend once told me that if you’re feeling nervous before you go then you’re ready. If you ever need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
